I do nothing until I can get DOs, then at 22 I switch to SOs and might put some uniques or procs in, once in the 30s it's "close enough" time and I start making sets.
    Just FYI:
A level +3 SO gives 38.33% you can slot it at 22
A level 20 triple IO gives 38.40% you can slot it at 17
A level 24 dual IO gives 38.40% you can slot it at 21

Both are higher (barely) than +3 SOs and you can slot them sooner. I pretty much don't use SOs anymore unless they drop and I have a hole and they fit in it.

I tried to check how much it would cost me to frankenslot to get as good % and some IO were more expensive than what it costs me to fillup my whole lvl 32.
As Post pointed out, you're looking at the wrong sets then. Just recently I bought a multistrike acc/dam/end level 35 for 15k uncrafted. Crafting cost will be 66,200, and the spell ink I got for 301, the circuit board for 121, and the commercial cybernetic for 1207. Total cost: 82,829.

I also got a Cleaving blow Dam/End for about the same price and a crafted Scirroco's dervish acc/dam/end for a smidge under 1.1m (that was still cheaper than the rare salvage used to make it).

Enormous difference if you go for the cheap sets (cleaving blow and multistrike) over the expensive ones (scirrocco's and Eradication, especially Oblit). A level 35 SO is 40k. I got a vastly superior IO for 82k.
  2. I'm goofing with a fire/fire and I like him enough that I will delete him and he will be my first GR praetorian. Very fun, highly recommended.

I have an earth/thorn that is ok. Earth/ is fine and fun but /Thorn is way too slow for my taste. I just use her as a market bot now.

Both Earth/ and /Earth are cool sets with both great powers from a game standpoint, and very nifty graphical options from a visual standpoint.

Which is it? Has there ever been a red name confirmation on this?
Actually you're misreading the answers you've been getting. I haven't seen anyone reliable suggesting the game gives a chance for 8 drops per foe. What I have seen is people not sure if the recipient of the drop is determined before or after the existence of the drop. And people not sure if a full inventory in a group causes a failed drop or causes the drops to congregate to the team members with inventory space to spare.

This seems stupidly easy to test by anyone who can dual box and farm.

    Trial 1:
Two characters participate: One door sitter with full inventory, one farmer with empty inventory. Clear two farm maps. Note inventory on farmer.

    Trial 2:
Two characters participate: One door sitter with empty inventory, one farmer with empty inventory. Clear two farm maps. Note inventory on farmer.

You should have a very substantial difference if the game consolidates drops. You should have only a difference equal to random number fluxuation if it does not consolidate drops.

Either way, 4 runs should be enough to give an answer.
  4. In Lore, was Croatoa originally on the Redline? I remember something in game about it "being reconnected".

Really. You won't fall of the edge of the game map if you try to leave the AE building or Atlas!!!
Blasphemer! If not for the fact that I'm sure I'd fall off the map if I left Atlas to do it, I would gather a horde of Luddites from Cap au Diable to burn you in effigy for that statement.

That's right, 5 in a hundred. Good odds, I'd say, for 200 inf.

Oh, and stacked purples become far more powerful than any oranges, especially on squishier characters. Why? oranges are additive in their effects, but purples are multiplicative. The resistance means they will hurt you, just for a bit less. Defense makes sure that it never touches you, and enough will make their chances incredibly insignificant. (Compare 95% chance of being missed with 4 lucks to taking 60% damage with 4 sturdies.)
This depends on build/character. On my /Elec brute taking one medium orange gets me almost to the S/L resist cap and makes a truly massive difference. Much more than even three purples. On my /Nin stalker, taking one purple and one orange is much better than two purples because one gets me to the cap anyhow, but stalkers are squishy enough that they don't like receiving full damage from a boss.

On my blaster, it's purples all the way. Even 4 oranges doesn't reduce the damage enough to make a difference.

I keep a purple or orange in addition in my Oh-crap pile. Because sometimes, one green isn't enough.
  8. Also debuffs increase aggro over just damage, so a blaster or scrapper that applies a debuff (Dark, Katana/BS, etc) would also have an easier time stealing aggro over electric, since the -end is not a debuff as such.

    BS Stalker!

I find the BS animations frustratingly slow. The bonus damage is ok for spikes (hence the popularity in PvP), but if you're going PvE, I really recommend Ninja Blade. You'll have a better experience in teams with fewer wasted attacks, and it just feels a bit more satisfying.

Are we still getting a free respec with i17?
  11. One thing to remember about Breakfrees: You can take them proactively. If you know you're about to get the attention of a pack of mezzers (Rularu, Rikti, etc) sometimes it's more helpful to take one BEFORE they hold you, rather than waiting until after you're snagged.
  12. Don't forget the "Yay I dinged!" whiff, whiff, whiff-whiff, plink, whiff, plink, whiff, MeeeOOOOSH *detoggle noise* "huh out of juice already?" from losing all/most of your enhancements after a level. When it happens to a tank, everyone suffers.

It's not like you have to wait a lot to make it perma, other sets like regen get the mez protection only at level 16. My shields had it perma at 22, and almost perma with DOs before. I'd check the numbers of the click mez with DOs but I'm on Mac OS X now. But after putting 2 DO's in it, it was enough to not bother me since the trip from 12 to 22 (SOs) is so fast.
My fire/SD brute is still something like 18 seconds off perma at level 36 when I remember to use haste. I have the status on auto, but it needs the help from haste a lot. Next time I level I'll add a slot to it. If I can stomach playing her for long enough to level. At least she'll be out of debt now from building up patrol xp. Still doesn't help having no status protection after a wipe when everyone else can just toggle up and go.

  16. 45% is capped until you face debuffs isn't it?

I don't think we have access to any -def resistance, so you might want a little more depending on who you go up against most. If you farm council, the gunners will do -def, but none of the others. Romans are brutal that way. Freaks wouldn't be too bad. But as long as its not romans, then you should be able to use inspirations to get through as the debuff only lasts a few seconds. So, really, you should be fine.
  17. How do you live with the clicky status protection though? Drives me up the wall with nerd rage. Good God I despise that mechanic.

I can't play the set, or ninjitsu for stalkers, for very long before I get so frustrated I have to swap to someone else. Every time I die I lose my status protection. And for a huge chunk of my career it's not permanent. The fact that eventually it does become permanent and can even be double stacked is not a benefit. Especially when I forget to click it. The fact that's its my own fault in that case just makes it worse =)
  18. I tried messing with something in the online builder. Some export bug is screwing with the build a tad. Buildup is empty because a bug won't let me put Gaussian's in it.

Any advice? Did I totally screw something up with the set bonuses? Best recommendations for fitting in Rise of the pheonix (concept power) or where to pull a slot to add some speed to fly? Worth moving powers around?

Team Teleport would be simple to make viable. Simply increase the range so that it works as an ally gathering tool. It doesn't need to be zone-wide like the veteran power, but enough that you can use it when the team is split to regroup.
  21. Gruppa you should be ashamed of yourself. People like you raise the bar for the rest of us and make it so that teams think hit and run nubs don't know how to use a stalker. Next thing you know they'll be expecting masterminds to control their pets instead of just setting them to Aggressive and then going to town with their primary set attacks, or expecting corruptors to use their secondaries. Dogs and cats living together MASS HYSTERIA!!!11!one!

That's a scary thought. My /nin stalker was squishier than any blaster or Dom I've ever built until about level 40-ish. And at 42 he still sucks donkey#$%^&.

You have two builds. I recommend a PvP build and a PvE build. You will be much, much happier going this route than trying to use one build for both.
