My Worst Day Ever As A Tank.

I have never in my life had a worse day playing as a tank. Holy hell! It’s been a couple months since I played a tank but it has nothing to do with being rusty . . .

Okay, so and friend and I decided to log on our two lvl 30 tanks today and run a few mish. We were freshly enhanced and ready to go. Big trouble in little Paragon though. It didn’t matter the enemy or their capabilities we were averaging four or five out of ten hits missed per enemy. Often times those being straight in a row. We ran at least six missions without a change. We were dying left and right. It made the missions so difficult that it was like playing as a blaster with tank powers. I mean it was ridiculous!

Has the accuracy for tanks changed somehow? Ugh, it was a horrible day for playing coh and it ruined the afternoon for both of us.

Nope accuracy is the same for every AT. I suspect that either you were running at to high a difficulty for your accuracy slotting (i.e. +3 enemies only one accuracy SO) or you were fighting an enemy group with high defense (probably Nemesis).

We ran against warriors, sky raiders, and arachnos mostly.

Adeon's probably right. We'd need to know what you were fighting, what your diff settings were, and what your slotting was before we'd have any useful data to determine if there's a bug or problem with the system.

You should have no problems hitting these.

Force Field Generators are a *****.

Oh $deity the -tohit debuffs.

I'm off to check my difficulty settings. That might have been the problem. It's the only thing that makes any sense. If the last time I logged I had a higher diff set for a team that could cause all our problems.

And as always you can set it up so you can monitor your last chance to hit and see what you're really doing.

Don't forget the "Yay I dinged!" whiff, whiff, whiff-whiff, plink, whiff, plink, whiff, MeeeOOOOSH *detoggle noise* "huh out of juice already?" from losing all/most of your enhancements after a level. When it happens to a tank, everyone suffers.

I can be found, outside of paragon city here.
Thank you everyone at Paragon and on Virtue. When the lights go out in November, you'll find me on Razor Bunny.

Well, it was my difficulty setting after all. I so wish I had thought of that in game instead of wasting 2 or 3 hours of play. Oh well, you live and you learn.

Another thing to keep in mind is your power set combos on your Tankers. Some Tanker Armors as well as Melee sets can handle many diffrent things....well....Diffrently.

Arachnos are a bit easier with Willpower or Electrical Armor sets.

Warriors hurt when they hit, Tanker or not.

If you have a Melee set like Super Strength, your chance of missing these groups, especially ones that -toHit is a none issue.

Some things can handle other things better.Learn what can be handled, and what cant for your tanker.Itll make things go alot smoother.

I'd go for elec against arachnos just because of the Mu end drains. I've found they can pretty easily overwhelm my WP's recovery.

Try dark armor. Still virtually immune to end drain, comparable resists, innate defense, control auras, and a better heal.

Well I was saying over WP. DA has a good mix of resistances that works with arachnos as well. I think that's what makes them so annoying, really; it's not just the psy, it's that they use all of the types so evenly.

You know, as long as you can handle energy, fire, lethal, psionic and toxic damage, critical hits, -tohit, -regen, -defense, -recovery, end drain, -perception, -recharge, -jump, -fly, the occasional placcate, and enemies with +tohit, then arachnos really isn't a problem.

The BS wielding warriors have [parry] so they would have had a hard time hitting those after it goes off.
