Hi everyone,
Interface debuffs are capped at a max of four per type at any time on one target. I get that (and thanks again to Dispari for compiling all the Incarnate data in that guide). But there's always that edge-case that I manage to overthink and convince myself is "different." Here I go again.
The fire DOT from Reactive, does the same type of cap apply to this, keeping no more than 4 different "tickers" of DOT going at any one time?
Thanks for your time.

Quote:Yes, I'm well aware of that. I was trying to determine what (if any) circumstances would make him leave, as I have yet to see that happen. Based on the above, it sounds like "Stupid Pet Tricks" is likely the #1 culprit.if marauder leaves the courtyard its an instant fail no matter how much time you have left to kill him or how much hp he has
it even makes note of that on top of the interface which shows his hp and enraged or not

Quote:Is Marauder leaving really that big a risk? He doesn't strike me as the type to flake out, "Man, I think I left my Kindle at the train station..."And that is why on Leagues I lead, we do the Turrets before the courtyard because:
1. I don't want anyone to open the courtyard door giving Marauder a chance to leave and the trial to fail.
2. People remember to do the turrets before going into the building. It's easy once you clear the courtyard to forget about turrets.
Also, big kudos to the OP for overcoming the troubles.

Quote:I'd read that.I wonder if it would be worthwhile to people if I did a brief guide on what incarnate powers to take and aim for for different people, as a recommendation/suggestion/guide type of thing.
I noticed something last night, and I'm not sure if it's a bug or WAI. You can apparently create Incarnate abilities for slots you haven't yet unlocked. My main has a common Lore pet ability created, but the Lore slot is less than halfway unlocked. Is this legit? I'd hate to slot like, a Rare, only to have it go POOF when the slot unlocks.

Hi,
I love the work you've done on this guide, Dispari. I have a question specifically about the Ageless Destiny buff. Does the +Rchg that power provides affect Domination & Mind Link? I'm sorry if I missed that somewhere; my search-fu stinks of late.

Hey there,
Always happy to read about a set that's near and dear to me.
Jadrian, if you're asking about Defiance's mez-proof effects, they're in C Bolts, L Bolt, and E Fence at all times, regardless of when the powers are chosen.
I can't directly speak to Sparky's utility; I ditched V Sentinel years ago, when I was young(er) and (more) foolish. Now it's just a question of squeezing it back into the build. A question I'll throw out to the room: do you think it's still worth it even if you can't really slot it much? Worst-case, it gets a single Expedient A/D piece, and my Musculature Alpha Boost gives it a bit more oomph past that.
Lastly, a general question about Sets: what do you look for when you're eyeing up Set Bonuses? My E3's got a lot of sets working, but I certainly won't claim it was a "holistic" process. It was more just okay, this power has this many slots, what sets work there. Anyone care to chime in?

In three weeks the entire city will be my market, no more putting up with Quills-And-Blazing-Aura-Guy.

Quote:Wow, way to miss the bigger-picture point that our perception of that TF's difficulty has radically changed over time.Because every AT can duo or solo ITF.
Because everyone will be able to duo or solo BAF or Lambda. You just have it all figured out.

Slightly OT, but here goes:
Vet reward idea I had of another row added to your insp tray (so that by L40 it's 5 high and 5 wide), too much?

If I had to field a blueside team, it would be (in approximate order of creation):
Generator RS-88 Elec/Elec Blaster
Gatecrasher Inv/SS Tank
Kid Tesla (Kin/Elec Defender)
Shatterbrain (Mind/Psi Dom)
Rallying Cry (Son/Son Def)
Snowbrawl (WP/Ice Tank)
Promethean Protector (Fire/Thermal Con)
Doctor Muspelheim (Fire/Pain Corr Rogue)
I would totally go to war with that group, but either of the I19 TFs might get dodgy, as Kid, Promethean, and Shatterbrain still have no Alpha.
This thread has me wishing for City of Heroes: Task Force Commander, the new release from Only In Gate's Head Studios where we commanded teams of heroes and villains.

Pretty please, go into your Mids settings and let us see the names of the Inventions you're using?
Thanks,

The skittles-vending nurses/combat medics have shamed me into using more insps (I'm still not using them as often as I ought to, but it's a process). I try and slip out of the hospital without her noticing, but it's always, "So Gate, need somemore insps to replace the ones you used in the fight that sent you here? Oh, tray full? Interesting." Then she makes notes on her little clipboard...

Quote:Exactly how long are folks taking on the MTF these days? Are you stopping in the middle to cook a chateuabriand?you have misunderstood what I said... I'm canceling tonight's run, cause I don't want to chance it, manticore is long enough without a 20 minute interruption.

If they ever revamp GIS such that it provides good DPA, the respec lobe of my brain is gonna cry.

Quote:Funny thing, I just started a KM Scrapper last week. Quick Strike does KD, but its mag is 0.7, not 0.67 (at least that's what I remember, I'm not currently at my game PC to verify). When he fights blues, QS does KB; that tiny change makes all the difference...As far as I remember with Focus (and anything with 0.67 knockback) they have to be -2 to you for KB to start kicking in. I remember my Claws/WP scrapper used to get really annoyed when I started a mission and then realised it was a few levels out of date and I'd be doing a lot of minion chasing in it.

Quote:You make a compelling case, Arcanaville!Eagle's Claw is slow, does too little damage, has a crit-boosting effect that malfunctions, and a stun that is so ridiculously short it wears off in almost as much time as it takes to stack cobra and EC in the first place.
On the other hand:

So, yeah. And on that note, the alternate punch animation... does anyone use it? I tried, really hard to get used to it, and finally just gave up. Taking EC and then using the punch is like like taking Siphon Life and slotting it for tohit debuff. I'm sure there are people that do it, I just will never understand why.
Note to self: 1) swap out EC to the kick on my MA Scrapper. 2) figure out what I was on when I selected the punch animation, and flush the rest of it.

I'm with the OP in that my preference is to "buy in bulk," going for more before going for tougher.

Assumptions:
1) Ultimate Cool move still gets the job done, just not optimally.
2) Ultimate Power move, first time I use it every session, makes me make The Disappointed Face, but not enough to keep me from using it again.
Given the above, Cool wins, with one important tipping point, if the power looks *too* cool, I will become disappointed that performance isn't matching appearance. The power Nalrok described, if I used that and ANYTHING lived through it, that would be a colossal letdown.
Also, to add my $0.02 on a power brought up by others, if the game caused my PC to unleash a bee sting on me every time I used Lightning Rod, that would not deter me from using that power.

Quote:Funny thing, one of those ponies got delivered to my house before I left for work. I brought it inside, I figure it can wait until I...It seems like everywhere you look someone is complaining about Lore Pets, Preatorians, No Ponies, etc. I just want to say thank you to the devs for all the work they have put into this game and i20. Yes I may not agree with all of it, but I do appreciate the work you guys and gals are doing.
Thank You
A Customer
PS - When can we buy the "My Little Nemesis Pony"
...
...ahhh nerds!
+1 Thank-yous for what looks like a fairly thankless job some days.

Quote:^This.I'm gonna take this the other way and say:
Am I the only one that's just fine with the story as presented so far? I'm honestly not seeing these major plot holes and fudging. Are you guys really looking at Praetoria with objectivity, or through some sort of rose-colored glasses born from some sort of disappointment that you didn't get what you wanted?

I've had some less-than-reliable results lighting Oil Slicks with my TA/A Defender; sometimes Blazing Arrow just doesn't want to do the trick.
Now, my Rad/Rad Corr used to team a lot with a friend's Ninja/TA MM, and my Corr was 100% good for lighting OSAs. In trying to ascertain the difference, the only thing I ever came up with was the fact that Blazing Arrow (WARNING: working from memory) does Lethal damage with a fire DOT "kicker," while my Rad's attacks are all Energy damage.
The pet theory I developed was that for some unknown-to-me reason, sometimes the game would decide that the Oil Slick was defeated by the fire DOTs and therefore, FWOOSH, but sometimes it decided it was via the main lethal chunk of damage, and therefore, no ignition.
No idea if that's what's actually going on, just my theory. /em_shrug

Quote:I believe LF takes EndMod sets, which means it should be able to use the EndMod stun proc (Energy Manipulator set, I think, someone back me up?). And of all the sets with damage aura toggles, heck, I'd trust Elec Armor more than any of the others to get by on one EndRdx.Lightning field cannot take a chance for stun proc, and I would never go with just 1 endurance reduction on a build.

Another one here who digs the journey, but I also believe in my friend's saying, "By about level 46 or 47, yes, it IS about the destination."
