Yeah, I have this combo on my earth/fire and it is awesome! Melt a mob from 100% safety ftw! Do yourself a favor and put the -res proc in sleet too.

    1. The SG changes its setting to "Accepting Membership Applications"
    2. The character looking to join files a request form with the Registrar. This includes certain information about the applicant such as character name, global name, level and archetype, and a short note. Possibly also a link to pop open the character's Info Box, letting the SG view their description and power choices.
    3. The SG (probably any member that has invite privileges) decides whether to accept or reject the application.
This removes the pesky issue of sending something through gleemail that can only be claimed on one server or by one character. And it makes sense thematically too, talking to the SG Registrar to perform SG-related tasks.
    Thats a really slick idea!

P.S. also willing to help out with a disposable alt if needed.
  3. TY Zwill, we always appreciate the communication
  4. Oh I see what you mean. I'm at work atm so I can't confirm this but I'm fairly certain that is you have the Radial, you will be confined to the 2 Radial T3 options. However to go from T3 to T4 you can use any 2 T3s. Hope that helps.
  5. I'd say try to get to at least your T3 so you get the level shift and casually work toward T4. If this a toon that you enjoy playing, you'll probably end up getting the components or shards anyway just by playing. With the T4 hasten is just shy of perma, I think that's worth working for.

As for the build, it looks pretty solid but I don't have much experience with DM so I'm a bit concerned about your end use. As you said though, you are working on the PvP IO and that would let you drop Maneuvers altogether.

I think you are on the right track, just keep plugging away at it

    GL
  6. Yeah, that musta been what I was thinking of, thank you.

Dam that sneaky GSFC proc! I remember it on my own build but never seem to think about it when I look at another players build.
  7. Yeah, Neal is the writer and artist on this. DC gave em a pencil and said "go nuts",........he took them literally.....

TY, I always wondered what shooting iced tea out my nose would feel like
  9. Really nice build, pricey to be sure but I can't argue with the results.

There are a couple places where you specifically slotted for Acc, I was told that more than 200% acc was ignored, is that wrong?

Regardless, that's a very well thought out build. How do you like the damage output of the spider? Or is more for the stacking holds/immobs?
  10. Yeah, I have found I get great use of the cardiac on my toons. I tend to build for high recharge and, even having some end redux from sets in the powers, I was still chewing blues in long fights (EB/AV/GM/fast paced team). With the cardiac that's a thing of the past.
  11. Yeah, its situational. The +recovery one is probably the best followed by the +recovery/regen and in last place would be the +regen. Of course there are exceptions. They all make a significant improvement in their given stats though.
  12. Wow, very impressive. I have a elec/cold and I didn't think it had the damage to do these things. Are you softcapped to both s/l and range? I can't read it in the vid. I took the Ice app on mine because I didn't like the animation time of the mace attacks but they don't seem to slow you down a bit. Well done!
  13. Yeah, I dropped it after 2 issues. Just insanity.....
Shame really, I was looking forward to Neal Adams doing Batman again. This is the X-men Forever of DC.

I did 2 Numis last night, prime time, and didn't really have any problems. Mostly I got what Turg did, people would see me standing in a mob and just mosey on. I did have 1 spawn killed while I was staking it out but I assume the guy didn't see me because when I moved to another spawn, he saw me and the spawn but left the spawn alone. All in all, I have seen pretty polite behavior. (on Freedom no less)
  15. If you are getting some def from manuvers and weave or double manuvers, then the bonus gained from the rare/very rare is about 2-3%. Not really a game changer unless you are on the edge of softcap.
  16. I have JL on mine and it does come in handy. I have invested a lot in mine so I freed up a couple power selections and that's the only reason I ended up taking it but it has proven to be useful. If you want to use it as an AoE it really has to be your opening move, otherwise things die and break the chain effect. I like to jump in the middle of a spawn and hit JL immediately, this lets me do a little damage while the spawn gathers up on me and feeds AAO. after the initial use, I then consider it a single target attack with the occasional benefit of chaining. Its not a game changing power and could certainly be skipped if you are tight on power choices.

I wouldn't bother with aid self, in any situation where it would be useful, you wouldn't be able to use it. Just keep a few greens in your tray, you probably wont need them very often. As you are leveling up purple insps will come in handy more than greens. When I was leveling mine I kept 1 wakie, 1 breakfree, 2 blues and then 50/50 greens and purples. Once you get sets on it and softcap the def you should only need about 4 greens in your tray (and they will probably gather dust).

GL and have fun, its an AoE beast!

    QFT

Ok, nerd rage subsiding. Still not happy about it but I can accept it.
  19. This past Saturday I got on an awesome streak of TFs with some really great players. I started around 12:30 pm and ran till about 2 am with a couple short breaks in between.

First up was a DR. Q led by Agent Ordnance (I was on my Dom). I was really excited about this as it is one of the few TFs I have never done. Rularu are some bad dudes man! We finished in 3:40 and much fun was had by all! As much as I enjoyed the TF, I don't think I'll be doing it again anytime soon, perhaps once we can get shard on non 50 stuff. We had fantastic team mates who really made the time fly. I remember a couple names of my team mates but not all I'm afraid so I'll just name the ldr.

After a short break, I logged back in and Orion's Warrior asked if I'd like to join a Khan. U bet I did. I run with Orion quite a bit so I knew what to expect, really fast TFs. I know a lot of folks are not fans of speed TFs but I love em and get a real rush when a team gels and missions complete almost before they start. We knocked out Khan in 20 min.

After Khan we hit up a Lady Grey, most of the Khan team stayed for LG and that was done in about 30 min. No instructions were given or needed, every one just knew what to do! Love running with pros.

A STF came after LG, we lost about half the team from LG and while we had very intelligent team mates and nothing went wrong really, we were a bit lite on damage so it took a bit longer. I think we finished at 1:20, still not a bad time. I picked up an Enzyme on this one so totally worth it!

We decided to run an Apex next. We were a bit lite on damage again but it still went pretty smooth. I forget the time on this one but it was decent. It also gave the last item I needed for my T4 alpha on my Dom.

At this point Orion was going to take a break so we all said goodbye and I was about to take a dinner break myself when the lovely Miss Midnight Moonz asked I'd like to join a speed ITF. So I swap to my scrapper and head to Cim for a very smooth speed ITF. Moonz always runs with a very competent crew so it was no surprise that things went great. Again, no instructions given or needed. Time was about 20 min.

Moonz suggested an Apex and we were all happy rip some bots a new waste disposal unit. This went very fast! 20 min and 50 sec I think, we were very pleased.

I suggested we round out the evening with a Tin Mage and the others were happy to do so. We knocked that out in 22 min flat and had a great time. I got to tank all the EBs/AVs with my scrapper (so glad I picked up provoke) thanks to all the wonderful buffs. I was mighty tired at this point so I said goodnight and went to bed.

What an awesome day of CoH! Special thanks to the leaders, Agent Ordnance, Orion and Moonz. Horable mention for the team mates I remember (very sorry to those I'm forgetting or misspelling) Aggta, Jakburton (had to watch Big Trouble in Little China because of you) , Unofficial, Len, Matt and Evo. My memory sucks sorry if I missed you. Thank you all for a fantastic day and I can't wait to do it all over again!

This isn't a new idea to people who follow comics.

I suppose that's a fair assessment (I really wish DC would remember that and give us Red Son), just seems that Earth X is a rather obscure place to pull from.
btw, I'm posting this from the comic store I work in mon-fri, so certainly familiar with comics
  21. Odin is Thors Father and Gaea The Earth Goddess is his mother. I think that gives him god status.

While he has been called an alien in Earth X, that is an alternate Earth and hes never been called an alien in Marvel 616 proper. (as far as I know)

I understand the parallels between gods and aliens but calling him an alien just feels like it makes him....smaller somehow.

Maybe its just me and whats done is done but I'm certainly disappointed.

First: fair enough, I just found out

Second: How can you be cool with that? I get that Alien Tech can be god like and aliens could be seen as gods but Thor IS a god, for me that's a cornerstone of the character. Might as well take away his hammer next, we can give em a laser gun or perhaps a light saber.

BrandX- when I searched for posts about this, it seemed that the Thor movie threads were here so this is where I stuck it. sry if I was mistaken.
  23. Bad news for Thor fans, it seem our beloved Norse God will not be a god at all in the new movie but instead will be an alien with superior technology

Here is the sad, sad story.

I was looking forward to this but it just got demoted to "wait till its on Netflix" status.

I really don't mind when small changes are made to these characters but when they alter something so fundamental to the character (i.e. Thor not a god or Deadpool with no mouth, ect.) for no good reason, it just smacks of some schmuck trying to put his name on it.

I can only hope that his alien origin is mentioned in passing and I can at least pretend hes the Norse god I know and love.....

    Shame on you Hollywood, Shame!

(sorry if my nerd rage colored this post angry)
