Earth/Earth Guidance Please!
I don't have a build on mids but, i do have an earth/earth dommy by the name of Rocky Martin. Currently he is still on pretty much nothing but SO's with maybe a smattering of generic IO's in his build. But...i do have a few comments.
My earthquake is slotted for recharge...3 i think. Though i've never thought about looking into what procs that sucker could take (mmmmm....NE damage on EQ.....<drool>). On a perma-hasted/dom build...you could probably get away with just the 1.
You asked in your first post if you should keep stone cages. My answer...YES! it's the perfect pairing with Stalagz for ghetto holdage. Especially if you buff it with Power Boost. My typical pattern is to alternate between PB'd stalagmites+cages and QS+EQ. 9 times outta 10 at least ONE of those combos is up every spawn.
The single target damage of /earth is just plain ridiculous. Seismic Smash for me can damn near one-shot white and yellow minions (again...i don't have set bonuses working for me...if i did have global damage...i'm sure i could). I often compare him to my Stone/Willpower brute. When my brute gets rolling and fury built...he hurts. But up front, start of the fight...its Rocky, hands down, who hits like a 5-ton truck.
You will laugh at bosses (save MAYBE for master ill's and fortunatas) as you SMASH them into their helpless, holdy doooooommmmmm after smacking them with fossilize+seismic smash (though in your case with the lockdown proc, maybe just SS).
For my APP, i went with /Fire for extra AoE Damage. I'm only @ 46 right now and have fireball, which is nice, but i imagine the combo of QS+EQ+Rain of Fire will just be sick. Slowdown+Knockdown+Meltdown. Even better when he gets to melt armor (at least i think that was in there) for debuffing goodness.

That'll do, pig. That'll do.
I was playing with your first build, easy to re-jigger stealth for manuvers. IF you shuffle the slotting, take the last lockdown slot from fossilize and volcanic gases, take the one end mod from stamina, you can then four slot your patron pet with expedient reinforcements. After that you should be perma-hasten AND perma-dom.

HelinCarnate:OMG it is so terrible. I have the option to take 3 more powers but no additional slots. Boo F'ing hoo.
Ty very much for the critique and tips guys
So basically now looking at the 2nd build i posted i have defense 41% for S/L and perma hasten and dom ... *for what i can tell is a really cheap build for perma hasten to*
That all sounds very good on paper ... but as i stated before i team 99.9% ((i would even go as far to say i dont solo))
so now after Raikenx post im thinking ... hmmm maybe i dont need such high defense on this guy? some resistance might be nice? could even run tough aswell? + the extra AoE Damage from fire APP ball of fire and rain of fire would certainly be beneficial to my kills per minute meter but that would almost certainly mean alot of work to bring back perma hasten ... if i even want/need it!
garh the options ... and im so very very zzzzzzzzzzz right now ....
ill know doubt have a jiggle and post tomorrow but for any1 out there who might beat me to it ....
Team focused , alot of TFs ....
From what i can gather running with Mace PPP will make me a killing machine able to kill anything *within reason * and a healthy dose of defense to fall back on ...
The Fire APP will almost certainly up my DPS and kills per hour *also increasing drop rates ... the chance for the ever elusive purples and money making in general*
Ghar .... logic tells me to run with fire for the DPS
But this newly emerging min/maxer in me says the 'solo' type defense build is a thing of beauty ....
Body crashes .... sleep coma educed .... ahhhhhhhhhh
I swapped out Maneuvers for Stealth ... not only will stealth help me take less aggro when times are hard but it also provides more defense for less endurance *which for me reinforces something that i have long suspected ... the leadership pool sucks! ((sweeping statement *gasp*)).

in mids go to options-configuration click on the effects and maths tab, and check attacking in the box on the right side
Leader/Founder of Order Sixty-Six Guardian Server
actually stealth gives you less defence than maneuvers if you are attacking.

do i protect my team and my pet? or let em all die and stay stealth'ed in a corner?
Shady, logic tells me if you want to maximize team dps, you would take ice mastery for SLEET, and the Frozen Armor isn't shabby either.

Yeah...I think i'm gonna have to give this one a go.
Edit:
Holy hell...just thought about something...
Quicksand...Earthquake...Volcanic Gasses...Sleet...Ice Storm.......that's a BUTTLOAD of click and sticks from around the corner. .....Hehehe...that could be fun!

I 'm pretty sure melt armor is pretty useless compared to sleet in the epic pools. It got hit hard by the nerf bat. Off the top of my head its like 7.5 % -resist and -def and sleet is what -30%? Yeah go with sleet.

Hello to you the reader,
In a nut shell
*Basically im new to Dominators, I originally planned a mind/fire ((was recommended)) but got to around 25 and decided i didnt like i, so i rolled an ice/ice ... i swiftly realsied 'soft' control wasnt for me and wanted the real stuff ... so i rolled a earth/earth *earth/fire occurred to me as a better pairing but i have always like matching sets *
Anywho hes now around lvl 26 and im really enjoying him, the feel of control, the decent damage *imo* and the epic noises and visuals that earth brings ...
I was thinking about perma dom and not much else to being with but now realise that some of earths best powers are its 'soft' control one -_- meh i can live with it because Quicksand and Earthquake look awesome ... so i figured perma dom wasnt a huge issue for earth/ and set about getting some S/L defence ....
Now im basically looking for build critique ...
Edit: Original build is gone and replaced with the 2nd one i posted *condensed to avoid confusion about which build was the most up to date*
I team 99.9% of the time so bare that in mind
This build has perma dom and hasten *i think unless ive missed one of mids numerous little tricks :P*
41% defense S/L overkill? survivable?
And the APP/PPP ... i went with mace for quick access to a defence bassed sheild and thought the -debuff and -res from Poisonous Ray would be nice against booses/avs/gm *assuming that it stacks with the -def from the earth powers? if not i might leave it*
Is the spider worth taking? i have no prior experience with it and tbh on paper it sounds :S
I know that is alot to read but im hoping someone can help/critique me in a way that makes me 100% happy with this build
**Summary**
Team based
Wana Dish out the damage
wana ROCK! *couldnt resist*
Heres the build i have planned...
((Looks to me that my next choice is keep the high defense and rech or trade it in for the fire APP and gain extra carnage?))
