Seeing as this is probably the best inv / nrg post out there i figure i may aswell pop the question here..

Why don't people get all three secondary set powers first ie Barrage, Energy Punch and Bonesmasher and then start on the shields fully..

This is based on my opinion that for around the first 15 levels a tank cannot tank any better than say a scrapper because of the small amount of Health everyone has. With the 3 attacks there, leveling and soloing is much easier i find. Anyone agree on this?

What may be an idea is to run a Union Roleplay chat channel for strict OOC use. That way, roleplaylers can say their character, lvl and what they are after etc and if big enough the RPing wont stop.

I think this is quite unfair. Its not to annoy anybody its just a quick way of typing something. The english language evolves and will continue to do so.. might be an idea to embrace the language rather that let it tick you off.

I also feel that that was slightly exaggerated and I for one haven't seen anybody talk to such shortening extremes

Well with the red hair maybe a fire / fire tank would do it for you? They are quite easy to solo as their DoT is immense but if thats not for you then maybe just an inv/* tank?

Hmmm.. well I guess I have to thank you folks for putting my mind at rest. Having been typing LOL, ROFL and using emoticons for over a year now they have become somewhat a habit which I doubt I could drop so easily in a minute of RP. I'll try my luck though and hopefully I can get better!

Hey guys! I think this thread sums up what I find most daunting about RP being fairly new to it. The way you all pick each other up on little things. I know its the RP thing but i can imagine myself making a typo out in the field n getting slayed for it. I have been meaning to get into RP for quite some time now but I guess I'll have to up my grammer a bit a?

I still don't see its use in any team - any form it goes in weather its human, dwarf or nova, it is not as strong as its counterpart. Thats why I feel like they are like a last resolution for any team that lacks a particular AT i.e tank or blaster.

Thanks guys thats given me something to think about! I defo enjoy a challenge though and I am tempted with Storm as my primary. The only qualms I have are with a secondary. I am totally put off by storm / elec cos the elec is blue and the storm lighitning cloud is yellow and i hate that sort of thing lol

Hey folks. Having experienced controllers and tanks im now looking for some defending expeirence. I'm after a defender that is neither a buff bot or a healer but is very fun to play, varied in terms of powers, has good combos and is good for concepts. Can anyone suggest anything for me? I like the idea of Dark / Dark defenders or even Storm / Archery but I'm still not sure.

Any comments or suggestions very welcome. Cheers

Having previousy got a warshade to 33 and deleting it because it sucked I can say that imo, Khelds and warshades are sucky versions of a tank and blaster. The dwarf forms are resitricted to 4 attack powers (which need slotting badly) and a useless taunt and now i think blasters outdo them no probs with defiance. They are both an exremely unepic AT which i found do not fit in to teams very well. When people recruit to their team i find that if they need a tank, they go for a tank not a warshade or Pb and same with blaster. When i recruit for taskforces I usually go for Pbs and warshades as a last option, except for posi because the nova form isnt so bad.

I tried an illusion controller and cant say i enjoyed it much. It's not very.. 'controllery'. It's all pets, buffing pets and watching. That's what i found anyway heh Ice / Storm on the other hand i have also tried and was very fun. Slow to begin with as its end heavy with its toggles but things really pick up with your Jack Frost, Lighning Storm and Freezing Rain.. very cool! If in doubt.. go Fire / Kin for uberness!

yeah defo ditch superjump as SS and IR will cover ur travelling plus there is no delays in IR after attack so its good for PvP.. other than that its pretty gd. Quite similar to my build infact apart from the epics
I don't think repel is needed to be honest. It sucks an
awful amount of endurance and u shud b ok keeping out of melee with ur SS and IR.
One more thing.. for slotting my Singularity i made it a minitroller. Don't worry about its dmg because its dmg isnt that good anyway. I slotted mine for holds and ranges. I love casting mine into a grp watchin em all get repelled n then smokin em all heh.

Sorry to disagree but stone tanks are eaisily the best tank imo even with Granite. Due to the slow recharge on powers Granite gives, taunts do not often come. On my Granite tank i decided to try for the presence pool power taunt aswell as normal taunt. Along with taunt slotted mud pots, i have no trouble retaining aggro as the mobs come to me and stay there.

I am currently trying an inv / nrg tank and i hope to try ice tanks too but i cant say which is best for tanking just yet.

Ye i also love fulcrum fireball on contained groups its amazing. Probs drop the one you use the least, i think deceive is a gd power because as the levels go up the enemies become more tactical and confusing sappers or sorcerers or mages etc can be really effective. Its up to you though.
