I'm not going to mention how here, just in case one of them happens to browse the forums.

It really sucks that you have to be careful what you post for fear of spammers finding it I don't want to be responsible for a flood of global name emails, so I'm keeping my mouth shut about it .

We can block emails from anyone not on our friends list so even if they figure out my global they can't bother me.

  3. This is an example of what happens when AE babies are allowed to do a respec without adult supervision.

This is as funny as the guy in the Rude Tells thread that mistook the NPC allies Nosferatu and Burkholder for real players in his mission and complained that they joined his team without permission, ignored him in chat, and got the team wiped.

Edit: Also after seeing the OP's poor writing skills . . . I.E. spelling and grammar . . . I'm not surprised he has trouble reading large numbers. All those commas can get so confusing.

It seems to me the OP knew he never had 168 million on the character in question, and when he misread the amount he'd get for selling the enhancements during the respec he fell prey to his own greed and assumed the game was making an error in his favor. So he jumped at the chance to sell them without double checking to see if the number he thought he saw was right. As soon as the respec was over he went to check his windfall and lo and behold he found that he screwed himself over.

Of course the real people at fault are the devs. The OP can't accept responsibilityfor his own actions.

That was an assumption made by some players. The devs only said that we wouldn't be seeing it any time soon because it was a project that required more time and effort than they had available.

The doomies grabbed ahold of that and tried to twist it into "it'll never happen".

I also remember dozens of threads where people like Memphis Bill and others repeatedly tried to correct the doomies claims that the devs said Power Customization would never happen.

Although I am getting a tad sick of the Ember demon roar sound. Its...really a bit too loud, IMO. Cool ,but a bit grating after the umpteenth time ><
Were you here when Thugs MM first came out? If not imagine an 8 man MM team with all it's pets out and each player then casts Gang War.

    8 MM's
    48 Henchmen
    80 Gang War Thug Posse

Now imagine that in a cave mission.

I'm going to assume from your post that you are unaware that the email system is on the fritz as well and we haven't been able to send anything with attachments to ourselves.

I tested it myself with a trash piece of salvage and never recieved the email.

    Long version:
I'll say up front this would be a good bit of work. Several things I'm thinking of for this don't exist right now, and I'm not sure if they would be doable or not. But for supergroup management - including some things like base rights, as well as security (logs, mostly,) and membership management, it would be nice to have a unified interface to do this from.

The "Superleader," of course, would always have access to all functions. Specific tabs (and subsets, perhaps) could be made visible or hidden for various ranks, as well.

I'm thinking of a main screen with several tabs to move between - "SG Settings," "Membership," "Base management" and "Logs."

    Supergroup settings:

This basically has the settings of the current "registration form," without that interface. Motto, MOTD, colors, symbol, and rank rights are handled here. Probably the simplest tab. What would be nice is a "Pay rent" button, as well.

    Membership settings:

I'd like to see the ability to send an email out to all the membership at once here, really. This would also contain the current SG membership list you see in the SG screen, with the addition that you could use it to email someone individually (for instance, "You're coming close to the X day inactivity limit of the SG," if your SG does that. It's a convenience thing.) This is alsow where I'd add offline promotions and demotions, as well as the "kick" we have now.

    Base management:

First and foremost, yes, a "Pay rent" button here, as well. (Seriously. Convenience, guys.) This is also not a link to the base editor - which itself needs an overhaul. What this CAN do, however, is set things like default storage permissions (add storage, it takes these automatically instead of the rather too-tight current permissions,) a global reset which (base item change time) affects anything that doesn't have its permissions locked. (Yes, I want to be able to set individual permissions and lock them for storage items.) A quick overview of storage units (#/30, for instance) as well as power and control would be useful here. (Tied in with this, I'd like to be able to rename storage units, giving them specific designations so this functionality would be more useful.)

    Logs:

Yeah, fun stuff to read through, but if you want to know who added, removed, changed things, paid rent last, etc, this would give you access to these logs - and split up, so it's not just one giant jumble. (of course, you can see the current style log under "all" if you want that kind of overview.)

It wouldn't be a quick bit of work, and requires (well, would work better with) some overhauls of base items and new functionality, but I think it'd be reasonably convenient to have accessible from anywhere. (You'd get to it from a menu, if you have the rights.)

    I agree with this sentiment.

I would ask my SG member who would like to take over, but then that is me. I thank everyone for there repliese i didn't think there was anything that could be done to put a stop to it and returne the SG to those that worked for it.

There are only 2 ways that guy got leadership of the SG, and both are legitimate transfers of power.

    1. The previous RedStar voluntarily promoted him to that position.

    2. He was automatically promoted after the previous leader neglected his position and was inactive long enough for the Auto-Demote feature to go into effect.

There is no other way he got leadership. He didn't steal the SG.

Now don't get me wrong, I think what that player has done is horrible. You're looking at a guy that inherited a dying SG (almost 50 mil prestige) almost 2 years ago and I still haven't kicked anyones alts. They've been absent 579 days and counting.

I wish there was something that could be done, I was one of the few people that predicted things like this would happen when they first made the SuperLeader (redstar) position announcement. This happened several times just after the rank went into effect and a couple times since. I recall of one really big blow up over this issue on the forums when a Redstar kicked everyone from a very large and active SG. If I recall he decided to quit the game and decided he wasn't going to leave anything behind when he left.

Yeah those are probable markets, but the company is also supposed to be getting ready to take orders from private civilian parties later this year.

Martin Jetpack is currently accepting enquiries from commercial customers. Please place your initial enquiry through this site and we will contact you directly.

It is expected that early orders for sales to private individuals will commence late 2010. If you would like to register your interest in purchasing a Jetpack for private use, please do so through our contact page. We will note your details and contact you when pre orders are being taken.
But for the forseeable future I think the private sector will be a very small market.

In lightfoot's defense that is part of the purpose of the suggestion fourms. Poking holes in ideas is supposed to help people perfect an idea, and look at it from a different perspective. It's easy to get tunnelvision and overlook something that might be glaringly obvious to another person.

unfortunately not everyone is as diplomatic about it as others are.

Personally I think it will be a very long time before (and if) we ever see them as being affordable to the average person. The danger factor is probably the biggest reason they won't be mass marketed. I predict someone would need to get some sort of pilots liscence to operate one. Also the jetpack only has a 30 minute fuel supply. To me that's just long enough to forget to watch the time because your having too much fun and short enough to run out of fuel and fall to your death.

So for the time being these things will probably only be bought by the rich and stupid.

What is it and how would it work?

    1. It is a recipe that can be bought at wents or the stores. And I mean bought like the teleport power at wents. It doesn't drop. The price is frozen and scales as such: (not set in stone)

    @ lvl 1-20 it's 400,000 inf
    @ lvl 21-30 it's 750,000 inf
    @ lvl 31-40 it's 950,000 inf
@ lvl 41-50 it's 1,000,000 inf. Each additional time you buy it at lvl 50 after the first 5 times (at 50) the price gets 500,000 added to it until it hits the permanent price of 3,000,000 to purchase.
@ incarnate level 1, the price is 3,000,000, and stays at that price.

Inf sink possibilities, obviously. Further inf sink possibilities.

How it works is that when the person crafts it, it creates
The salvage required would all be cheap (ANY 6-8 white salvage of ANY level), the crafting cost would scale at 1/3 the price of everything posted above until it hit the final permanent crafting cost of 1/3 of 3,000,000.

As you can't trade it, it's bind on creation. The resulting IO would be stuck in your tray. (They could increase the tray to 20 if necessary, but not required)

What does it do? The IO allows you to zero out or black hole out one slotted IO. The slotted IO would jump to your tray, while the slot it was in was once again open, and the Zero/Black Hole IO would then vanish.

    What do you guys think?

EDIT: In it's own thread: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=219336

Yeah that sounds like it would work.

Bound on pick-up or craft seems a rather draconian step for this game (with the exception on costume recipes and temp powers). I think it would be more plausible to imagine enhancements could become bound upon slotting to a character.

Which wouldn't be an issue if the IOs weren't ultimately overpriced (or, if said prices are considered fair, the amount recouped for lost enhancements during respec more closely matched that "fair" price). Less likely, but a possibility. And such a person might look into using the alternate build for such experiments in character building if it's not already in use by them.
Yeah that's another good example of player greed.

If the server only lags when your computer needs to have a better graphics card, hey, that's such a strange coincidence.

I won't say other peoples computers suck, but on Monday and Tuesday I noticed several players were rubberbanding while I had no problems whatsoever. Now I did turn down my graphics before the event started as a precaution.

Gift may not be the right word but the devs are in no way obligated to give them to us. It's simply a nice gesture on their part. They acknowledge that they made changes to powers and give everyone a free respec so we can make adjustments to compensate for the changes.

They were never intended to be hoarded. Hence they don't stack.
