Leadership of SG for Sale?
That stinks , thats why I made my own so I don't have to deal with that nonsense . Plus I don't think you can sell SG stuff like that anyways . Talk it over with this person if possible and see if ownership could be given to you since it seems like you want the group to continue or at least keep the group name for future use . Hopefully that works .....
You'll need to explain so I can understand how someone can come in and take over when there ought to be one person with the big red star.
total kick to the gut
This is like having Ra's Al Ghul show up at your birthday party.
The only way to prevent this is to set the leadership expiration to max (45 days, I believe) and then make sure to log in at least once every 45 days. Or else kick everyone out of the group who is not an alt or a trusted friend. No way to get it back unless the current leader agrees.
Even before they instituted the Super Leader (the "red star" leader), super group leaders were subject to losing their leadership status for prolonged inactivity. This is nothing new. I took over a group in this fashion (over a year later, and the original leader has still never come back). It's a good thing, too, because I would never have been able to get the base accessible again if leadership hadn't passed to me (permission to pay rent was set to leader only). It's this kind of situation that made this feature necessary.
I know a number of the former SG members that worked very hard for that SG and would have liked to have had it if for no other reason the name. So my question is! Is there anything that can be done to prevent this from happening again or is there a way for the former SG members to be able to get their SG back that they worked so hard for?

Must have been next in line when the previous "leader" vacated after 45 days , or do to inactivity this person became the leader , fair and square and decided to kick out those who were not doing anything due to RL issues . It stinks but that is the system .

You can only allow yourself (the red star) to Kick or demote but allow varying degrees on other settings. Besides no one can sell an SG if they aren't the red star unless the buyer is not thinking about what would happen when the red star shows up.

But with the Red Star you can prevent all of that.

I do not know how the guy got the red star, I was never in that SG but i had teamed with a number of it's members. To me the selling of a SG like this is just boggels my mind if i had a SG that i no longer wanted i would never kick everyone out and then put it up for sale. I would ask my SG member who would like to take over, but then that is me. I thank everyone for there repliese i didn't think there was anything that could be done to put a stop to it and returne the SG to those that worked for it.

There are only 2 ways that guy got leadership of the SG, and both are legitimate transfers of power.
1. The previous RedStar voluntarily promoted him to that position.
2. He was automatically promoted after the previous leader neglected his position and was inactive long enough for the Auto-Demote feature to go into effect.
There is no other way he got leadership. He didn't steal the SG.
Now don't get me wrong, I think what that player has done is horrible. You're looking at a guy that inherited a dying SG (almost 50 mil prestige) almost 2 years ago and I still haven't kicked anyones alts. They've been absent 579 days and counting.
I wish there was something that could be done, I was one of the few people that predicted things like this would happen when they first made the SuperLeader (redstar) position announcement. This happened several times just after the rank went into effect and a couple times since. I recall of one really big blow up over this issue on the forums when a Redstar kicked everyone from a very large and active SG. If I recall he decided to quit the game and decided he wasn't going to leave anything behind when he left.
When CoH/CoV came out with the red star leader for a SG, I thought at first it was a good thing. Now that it has been out for a while i wished it never came to be. I have friends that were in SG's and someone came in and took over the SG. The end result is that the new leader kicked everyone from that SG without so much as a word and now is turning around advertising that SG up for sale for 2billion.

I understand that people have a real life and take vacations and can't always be on CoH all the time. I myself have had Real life problems and was gone for like 3 months but my friends kept my SG going and passed the red star back to me when i was able to get back on and i thank them for that.
