573 hours on my main hero...
3808 hours on my former main villain... O.O
And to make it worse, I will only hit my 2 year mark on the 20th of this month :P -
Heya folks,
Trying to think of a decent and fun character for PvP but I am kinda stumped.
I was thinking of Fire/Rad, but not sold on anything.
Any suggestions/points for-against/advice?
Thanks. -
Howdy folks, had a question about MIDs. Is there a way to set the character level you want to build? I am trying to plan out a level 30 character, but I can't seem to set things right... and I am pretty much a techno-tard, so...
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Fomsie. -
Probably going DP/Storm for the theme on my "Airship Pirate" Captain to be sort of a "Wind Witch".

While as said, you can adjust the particle effects, I really wish they would do away with the base ability effects entirely. I mean, why are they there save to remind us "dummies" that we have a power on? C'mon already.
-
I hope Posi is changed a lot, so it does not drag on forever as it currently does. Never been able to finish one all the way through because every time people have bowed out on account of time/boredom.
The mail Inf option is long over due, I wonder if they will allow items/recipes to be mailed as well, but I doubt it because then people could just use the mail system as extra storage.
And yay tails that move and do not just lay there. -
Yeah, as has been said, it is a known and recurring problem. I had to petition for my last two rewards... both took about a day or two to resolve.

No idea really on the population density of the Euro servers.
The most likely places to find people in bunches though are Cap au Diable, Redside or Atlas Park, Blueside. Or perhaps Pocket D.
Good luck finding folks to play with! -
Quote:Sorry, I don't buy it.No, because all versions of that power don't have scourge attached to them.
(Base damage + Scourge + Damage Resistance DeBuff) > (Base Damage + Damage Resistance DeBuff) thus Corruptor endurance cost > Defender or Blaster endurance cost. It's as simple as that.
It's all because of the COMBINATION of Scourge AND the debuff.
The Blaster can still use that attack with defiance, and scourge is way too iffy to be reliable. -
Well also, with the 10k Raptor Packs so easy to get Redside, all of my villains keep one handy for those just in case moments.
-
I know that when the chalet was open a number of my lower toons got all the skiing badges by using Ninja Run and an inertial reduction. Was much fun!
-
I dunno, my first real hero I leveled had SJ... and Dark Astoria was a pain in the rump!
Bounce, bounce, bounce, THWAPINTOTHESIDEOFABUILDING!
Fly and large zones has always been my "go get a drink power" though.
And actually, most of the RI zones are less than ideal for SS, even still most of my villains have it. -
I was thinking about a variation of this idea just yesterday... dunno why, maybe I ate some bad pizza before bed or something... but it went kind of like this:
You keep the power sets in tact, ie Super Strength, Invulnerability, etc. And you keep the AT Hit Points and Innate power based on the primary powerset you choose. However, you can then choose any secondary powerset that does not conflict with your primary.
So, you could choose to be a tanker and take Invulnerability. This would give you the tanker health and innate taunt. Then, as a secondary you could choose a tanker secondary(EM, SS, SM, etc) as normal, or you could choose from any of the other secondary attack based power sets, such as the defender or dominator attack powers(since a character would have to have some form of attack) barring any conflict(much like the limitations on Shield Defense with certain attack powers).
Obviously, some combinations would be better than others, but it would allow for a great deal of creativity.
Say you want to make an "Iron Man" style character, so, you take Blaster "Energy Blast", giving you blaster health and the "Defiance" innate ability, but then you take Scrapper "Invulnerability" secondary for the defenses/resists, thus making you a bit less offensive, but more rugged blaster.
Of course the way some of the AT sets are currently an imbalance could occur and would have to be worked out... such as blaster primary with corruptor secondaries... but the concept would be fun. Personally, I would love for my Energy/Thermal armored corruptor to be an Energy/Invuln(brute style), to fit the concept better and even while sacrificing heals/buffs/debuffs, allow me a bit more soloability.
Mainly I think it would add a lot of diversity into characters and concepts. Granted, I am sure there would be some "min/max" optimum builds that some would come up with for PvP/Farming/AV killing, it would still be fun. -
Wow, Gratz!
I feel like a slacker with my 471 badges on my brute now :P Of course only a 21 month Vet but still :P -
Not even a 24 month Vet yet, but I did have the loyalty thing and did get my invite, but I almost missed it because hotmail put it in my junk box, even though stuff from NCSoft normally goes to my in box.
Might want to check there. -
A total hippy type 70's throwback character with sonic/mental powers in really trippy colors.

I have a thing for the melee play style in this game and as such I have a few brutes...
50 EM/WP... my first redside 50 and even though EM is far less than stellar these days, I still love her... just wish the attacks were not sooooooooo slooooooooooooooow. :P
50 SS/SD... after making a SD/SS Tanker, I wanted to see how a brute would perform... even with a sub par build and relatively cheap IO sets, he is kind of a beast. Was able to hold and survive the entire Ambush atop the mountain at the end of the "Consult the Oracle" mission on the ITF after the rest of the TF got silly, pulled everything and died.
25 SS/WP... a fun mid level romper. Haven't worked on him much lately, but he is always fun to pull out when friends need a bruiser for lower level missions.
25 DB/WP... kinda fun, but DB just doesn't do it for me. I love the visual effects but the set itself leaves me feeling underwhelmed.
15 Claws/SR... a lot of fun but neglected a bit by my constant RPing and altitis :P
I've also tried and deleted a number of other brutes, usually in the late teens and early 20s, just to see how the powers performed... and looked :P -
Pretty sure them saying that the (V)EATs are available at 20 means that you can make one once you reach 20. Especially since they have said in the past that having 50 as an unlock point was a bad idea.

That was a damned good game, fun and exciting. Way to go Saints, I had no dog in the race, but it was nice to see them win one. Plus, I was a Brees fan when I lived in San Diego so it was nice to see him do well.
-
I have finally IO'd my Energy/Pain corr at 50 and she is a blast(pun intended). The damage is solid and the KB helps keep me out of trouble. So far she has been very effective solo, on teams in TF/SFs and surprisingly good in PvP. It may not be the optimum combination, but it has worked really well for me so far.

I'd post mine, but right now it is a cluttered mess since my cats knocked over and broke my flat panel and I am now reduced to using an old CRT monitor

Here's a better idea... don't get too worked up about the folks on the forums anyway because in the long run they will have little to no impact on your gaming experience. Also, as you have seen by some of the responses, there are way too many folks who think entirely too much of themselves and their opinions on the forums, usually on account of some ridiculous notion of "forum celebrity" status. If I were you I'd just take it in stride, shrug it off and move on.

Order of the Stick is a great one as is Looking for Group.
