Wooden cloth clips grip to... things... pretty well, without much pain. And rubber tends to have better friction than wood. I'm certain you could have a clip with a weak enough spring to not be painful, yet strong enough to not slip off.

I don't know about Monotouch, but the last time I investigated Mono, it did not have enough of the .Net functionality to run Mids'.
-
I'd also like to point out: unless someone gets .Net fully-functional on an iPad, "I want Mids' on my iPad!" would mean starting from scratch.

Quote:Um... the new hires started coming in almost immediately after NCSoft purchased the CoH IP from Cryptic. That was late '07 (I11, with Ouroboros, came out 3 weeks after the IP shift, and the studio move finished less than a month after that)While we had 15 devs, we got at least 2 shiny issues every year - we got 2 zones with big makeovers, and we got an entirely brand new zone in Cimerora. We also got RV (just as I joined)...
Also, an increase in the number of developers does not cause a linear increase in development speed. -
0.0 Threat would result in critters ALWAYS ignoring you, as far as we understand the threat calculations. This is clearly false, so there is a lower limit on Threat not displayed in the CA window.

Quote:But how else'm I s'posd to used Vengeance?Because in all of those cases someone needs to die for them to work. I'd much rather take a power that I can use whenever I want and that will (hopefully) make the team better to prevent deaths rather than one that only works when people are dying.

Fortunately for you... you already have the full game installed!
The client used by the trial is exactly the same as the client used by the full game. The only difference is a flag on your account which says whether you're subject to the trial restrictions or not. (Though sometime this month, Issue 17 is supposed to come out, which requires an update to everyone's client.) As a newbie, I highly recommend checking out Paragonwiki. Then bookmark it. Then love it
These boards also have a Supergroup & Villaingroup Recruitment forum, where you may be able to find some great SGs on Protector. I'm sorry, but I don't have any characters there myself, so I can't make a personal recommendation. I'm in Repeat Offenders[/shameless plug] with Smurphy; we've got more than 30 different SGs on Freedom/Virtue/Justice, and a global chat channel to talk to each other across servers -
Quote:I can understand the sentiment with Resurrect, because it's just a rez. But if you'll take Howling Twilight for being a good debuff, why not take Mutation, Elixir of Life, and Conduit of Pain for being good buffs? Why not take Power of the Phoenix for being an attack?I don't deny that the rez powers are useful. I just question people's obsession with them. Personally if I ever rolled an Empath Resurrection would be one of the first powers in the set that I'd skip. Same goes for Rad, Poison Thermal and Pain. Dark is the only one where I'd consider the rez non-skippable and that's because it's a very powerful debuff (and it doesn't require a dead body) not because it's a rez.
(Okay, I guess I can also understand skipping Conduit of Pain on a MM, since it just buffs yourself)
The only slotless power in Leadership is Assault -
And now the count is up from 7 to 8. And yes, they all have the same timestamp ._.

Hey, Marketing. I know the players are always complaining that you aren't doing your job of getting the word out. Then they complain that you're doing your job too well preventing the developers from telling us about upcoming stuff. You get it coming and going, I know.
But this isn't the way, man! -

Quote:Stacking wit Invisibility wouldn't do much unless both powers were significantly buffed. Invisibility alone (or Stealth + IO) will hide you from everything except GMs, Turrets, and Snipers (and Rikti Drones/Rularuu Sentries, but those ignore stealth completely). You'd need more than double that much stealth radius to pas by GMs and Turrets undetected, and triple for Snipers. It's too weak, doesn't grant enough actual stealth for the cost and can't even be stacked with Invisibility from it's own Power Pool.
TBH, -Threat doesn't do much, as far as I've seen. You can't have less than 1.0 Threat, which most ATs have as their base (and I don't know of any +Threat powers). The ATs with more than 1.0 base Threat tend to want the aggro. -
There are a couple of powers which only have a 'positional' vector (off the top of my head, I believe Siphon Power is in this group), and not all powers without a 'positional' vector use Psionic_Attack (IIRC, Fearsome Stare uses Negative_Attack only)

As I understand it, the amount of rep granted is based (somewhat) on the difference between the rep of the two people. If you've got lots of rep and give someone with no rep a positive, their rep jumps up really quick. If you've got very little rep and try to give someone a positive, it will barely do anything, if anything at all.

Quote:I would have trouble justifying picking up the Tanker's version of Melt Armor. It's -7% defense (a whopping ~10.5% with slotting) and -9.75% resistance. And costs almost 1/4 of your endurance bar. I would honestly rather use Apprentice Charm as my resistance debuff than Tanker's Melt Armor.Well, as a... Tanker, yes? If it does not go against your character concept, at lvl 41 you could choose the Pyre Mastery ancillary power pool, and take either an immobilize or a hold, then at 44 you have the option to take melt armor (Ranged AoE, Foe -Defence, -Resistance)
[also, you can slot the afore mentioned Achilles Heel in it for a chance of more -resistance]
(Controller/Corruptor/Mastermind Melt Armor is much better, and in the case of Controllers and Corruptors, costs less) -
What makes you think a handful of free character slot tokens for EU only is any more "on the cards" than a server list merge?
The devs haven't said anything about a list merge, but neither have they ever said anything about preferential treatment to the EU. I don't know of any dev post stating the technical or legal infeasibility of the list merge (though I could be wrong), but that's the only reason that I personally would make such a blanket statement. -
