Quote:The two commands are useful, but they do not solve the problem if you get ill from other players with the auras.I don't think they need to change the power for everyone when anyone who has an issue with it can turn it off.
/suppressclosefx - turns effect suppression on/off based on whether the camera is closer than the distance set in the next command
/suppressclosefxdist - sets the distance for the previous command
Try these. -
Quote:City of Data also has info on NPC powers, you just have to know the correct category name (NPC powers are not actually linked to from anywhere on the site). For example, 5th Column.
After someone posted a list to the forums, I created a list on my user page of Paragonwiki, but I haven't tried to update it for the new enemy groups in GR. -
Dr Pepper > All
Dr Pepper sits atop Mount Olympus and lords over all creation. *sagenod* -

You actually believe that Katanas are magic or something.Quote:can i get a /FACEPALM??? seriously, someone let me borrow their best /facepalm.
you are so wrong even if you clicked your heals together 3 times and said there's no place like home you would still end up in a different universe. -
I saw less "cleavage" and more "Elmo is looking up her skirt, man!"

Quote:Um... extremely popular? If he did a non S/L damage type I would have nothing to improve upon. The only ones that stray and have a different final henchman are necromancy and thugs, and we know how popular the thug brute is.
Charge an opponent with your strongest attack, knowing he can defend against, causing an explosion leaving both of you in a crater. Dig from your crater to the ground beneath your opponent (leaving a decoy, of course), and take out your opponent with a surprise attack uppercut from below.
Nope, not badass at all. And that's just Naruto vs. Neji in the final part of the Chunin exam. And the only supernatural elements of the scene were Neji's defense, Naruto's initial (completely deflected) attack, and Naruto's decoy. Afterwards, you can see Naruto's fingernails split and bleeding -- he actually dug underneath his crater, it wasn't some fancy earth-style ninjutsu.
...
Also, I've been having multiple Naruto marathons on Hulu, with all of Naruto and Naruto Shippuden available.

Quote:Reese deserved what he got.So I could have a Responsible Loyalist kill Interrogator Kang or kill Reese as a Power Loyalist and do the Crusader Arcs as an undercover Loyalist...
My Demon/Pain MM gets uppity with all of the Praetoria contacts.Talk down to White for being cold about his girlfriend's murder, blow up Reese for being a dick, etc. Then again, the character is the spawn of unknown forces within the Warp of the W40K universe who just kinda fell on Praetoria, so...

Psh, if you can't get her into the game then she's not the love of your life.
Also, can I split your stuff with Forbin? -
Quote:Shards of Alara is rotating out of Standard next week! And funny enough, all the different servers are called: "Shards" as though referencing in-game that the different servers are canon and just alternate shards of the same universe.
On the other hand, it means Nicol Bolas is going away for a while.

Quote:Shadowe was responding to only a part of your post: "NOTHING is random .... nothing either man made or natural"What has quatum mechanics got to do with computer code made my humans? Its hardly comparable to the goings on of the atomic universe?
Quantum mechanics is our attempt to analyze the natural universe. The implied assertion is that quantum mechanics reveals true randomness found in nature. -
Quote:I was thinking something more along the lines of PBAoE toggle which uses the 'suppress on hit' mechanics of stealth powers, but instead of suppressing one of the power's effects, it grants a temporary power to the target. I'm not exactly sure if the reverse of suppress-on-hit is possible (suppress-until-hit), but if so, it would be basically a PBAoE damage when you get hit (get hit, grant a temporary power to all enemies in range which does self damage). You can grant a whole power to a target. You can't edit a power on the fly, either your own or a target's. You can, of course, do things like apply buffs which affect the power, which is actually in a weird sense how Dual Pistols ammo works - by buffing and debuffing the chance for certain effects to occur. But you cannot create an effect that doesn't already exist and add it to a power that already exists.
Then again, now that I think about it, if you could do suppress-until-hit, there's no need to grant a temporary power when you could just suppress-until-hit a damage tick. -
Quote:MastermindWhat have you found to be the "Uber sets"? Not just really cool, but the ones that are almost unfair? Firekin obviously makes the cut. I haven't finished my Ill/Rad, but I've seen them do awesome things. Just a fun thread to throw out what you guys have found to be the amazing sets. I've heard traps/sonic defenders can become AV soloers, anyone coroborate (misspelled?) this? So far, my favorite toon is the DM/SR scrapper. AoE is not the best, but he can survive any mob that decides to get in his face, and his single target damage is awesome. Great AV/EB/Boss fighter. Love it.
...
What do you mean, 'Mastermind' isn't a set? -
Quote:Presumably, if you had absolutely every bit of information ever, of every object down to smaller than Planck length, from the Big Bang to now, you would know every thought going through my head for the rest of my life (you don't want to, though, trust me!), and you would know the results of all random events before they happen. (Of course, this presumes you both know the information and are capable of processing it all.)*looks at Quantum Mechanics*
*re-reads*
*looks at Quantum Mechanics again*
Mmmkay...
Of course, this is essentially omniscience. Without omniscience, you don't need quantum mechanics to get an event with an unknown outcome but known probabilities for possible outcomes. -
Quote:There's also granting temporary powers to a targetCorrect. There's no way for a power to change the definition of another power on the fly, so there's no way for a player power to "add" a self-damage component to a critter's power. There *is* a way for one power to flip some of the effects of another power off and on, so if all the critter attacks were changed to have a self-damage component that was normally off, a player power could flip that on temporarily. But of course, that requires literally changing all of the critter attacks to support this feature. There's no way to do it dynamically.

Quote:The damage actually has nothing to do with how the defense is rolled. An attack has some set of attack vectors. Each possible attack vector corresponds to a defense type. The attack vectors do not necessarily correspond to all of the damage types dealt by the attack (though for conceptual reasons most all attacks have a vector matching at least one damage type). If an attack against me does part Fire damage and part Smashing damage does it use the Smashing number (highest) for the full attack or does it just use it for the Smashing portion of the attack? Then roll again for the fire portion of the damage?
As an example, Fire Ball deals Fire and Smashing damage in an AoE. Its attack vectors are Fire_Attack and AoE_Attack. Smashing Defense doesn't help at all.
Once you've got the attack vectors sorted out, it's as BillZ said. Only your highest applicable Defense is rolled, and if successful you avoid the entire attack - that includes both damage and secondary effects. -
Quote:While perhaps not good enough for your situation, you can instead look at the Emotes page (rather than the category), and you'll get aliases for the emotes (Wings should produce the same emote as Akimbo), as well as a description of the emote.Indeed. I even looked there but "Akimbo" didn't even remotely jump out at me as the answer to my question. Handsonhips would have made more sense to me.... 9/10 people you ask on the street are going to have zero clue what akimbo means :P
Also, the Mutant Pack and GR emotes don't show up in the category, but they are listed on the page. The emote animations are all either archived from Mantid's website, or created by me. Since I haven't done the newer ones and nobody picked up my slack...
Maybe I'll just spend the afternoon on that. -

Invalid comparison. The Rikti invaded Primal Earth because Nemesis ticked them off (in canon, the First Rikti War was in 2002). In Praetoria, Gerhardt Eisenstadt died of old age over a hundred years ago: without becoming the Prussian Prince of Automatons, without becoming Emperor of Americas, long before Emperor Cole was even born, and certainly before having the opportunity to tick off extradimensional invaders..

Quote:*picks a nit, hands it to Lemur Lad*A CPU running dual core at 300 Hz is the same thing as a CPU with a single core processor running at 600 Hz. While it is twice as fast, you're still going to run into the same problem, which is if you eat up too many cycles the game will slow down.
A dual core processor rarely actually doubles the processing speed. It's closer to +50%.
Quote:I also didn't mention the fact that the graphics is usually not processed by the CPU either, but by the graphics card. And of course as Lemur pointed out, this is actually being handled by the server, and not our client.
Also also: with the exception of computers that have no business playing an MMO, the graphics card is also working in parallel with the CPU. -
