nVidia side of things; GTX 560Ti
AMD side of things; HD 6950
The GTX 570 and HD 6970 are a little north of $300. -
You can fix that it runs in the background. See Hyperstrike's guide on configuring the launcher/updater.
They gave players plenty of time to adapt, five months and they even had a carrot to encourage players to switch.
One of the reasons they gave people five months was to find those who have problems getting the new updater installed and get the info on those systems to the NCSoft devs who developed it so they could figure out why and give them time to fix it, while still giving those who have problems with the new updater a way to still play this game until the fix was made.
In short you all could have helped yourself in the long run if you adopted early and worked with support to get it to work instead of ignoring the problem and hoped their pronouncement of ending support for the old updater wasn't already a done deal. But now it's to late. Instead of trying to help make a better more robust updater you all stuck your collective fingers in your ears and went LALALALALA I CAN'T HEAR YOU!
Sorry that I'm a little harsh but it's like being told about an impending flood and are told to evacuate and then complain when water starts coming in under your door.
The old updater is dead and gone. It's not coming back. If that means you can't play this game anymore, so be it, sorry to see you go. But if you still want to play work with support to figure out why it doesn't work. -
I would create a contagion that when released in the atmosphere will make all women beautiful and destroy all men over 4' 6".
Call me Bond, Jimmy Bond. -
Well it all depends on how you define Ultra Mode. Some people define it as having all three of the UM options on (AO, Hard Shadows, Reflections) at some level. Since AO functionality is the most GPU intense of the three, it's no wonder that with AO turned off you are able to get satisfactory results with the other two turned up.

They didn't patch it the 4th. All they did was to disable the old patch server.

Considering the popularity of the Spiderman movies, I'm sure Lou knew who Peter Parker was.
The problem that some people have is that Spiderman isn't a title held by someone (like Green Lantern) but is a particular fictional person's hero identity. An identity that's been around for nearly 50 years. It would be the same reaction if this was done to one of Superman's titles.
Heck it's the same reaction when they announced Starbuck in the new BSG was going to be female and that was a reaction about a character from a two season TV show from the late 70s.
Also don't forget we now live in a world where TV news needs to be profitable, which means you need people to watch, which normally means controversy and/or death, 24/7. And while death is fairly universal, controversy can be spun to attract a particular demographic, preferably one that advertisers like. -
No I mean disconnect from the Mr. Bean character, I remember a bit with him getting out of a classic old Mini, and Atkinson being a very skilled driver on a race circuit.
While any fool with lots of money can own a F1, but his performance on Top Gear showed he is probably a lot more competent driving one than most. -
I use common IOs at 15, switch to SOs at 22 and then back to common IOs at 30. I will use higher level ones for aspects that I only one or two slot due to ED.
As for Set IOs, I'm far to wary at their cost, concerned about screwing up to seriously try them for big set bonuses. With inherent Fitness pool however I am seriously looking into Frakenslotting powers I normally six slot to save on slots. -

Quote:Except that if you are planning on spending $100+ million dollars in making a movie, using source material that has a high percentage of recognition among the general population is one more positive factor in selling the idea to the money people. Especially if it's science fiction/fantasy since those movies do cost a lot to make (face it render farms aren't cheap).Nah, You can be the ones to get over yourselves. There's plenty of stories that would make great movies without having to remake or whatever POTA.
And I'm not complaining about making books and plays into movies. Just the remaking of films.
Instead of redoing films that have already been made how bout movies based on
The Guardians of the Flame
The Dresden Files
Hammers Slammers
War against the Chtorr
The Lensmen
Jack L Chalker's Dancing Gods
Chronicles of Amber
Xanth
The Belgariad
The Mallorean
The Wheel of Time
Discworld
The Man-Kzin Wars
The Berserker Wars
StarFist
Harry Harrison's Stars and Stripes alternate history
The Ellenium/Tamuli
Demontech novels
The Deryni Saga
Callahan's Bar
Battletech
There's thousands of stories that would make great movies/ series of movies.
It's one reason why remakes and sequels are way more prevalent than original ideas. You can be original, as long as it's relatively cheap to make.
Why do we keep getting <genre> Movie, those horrible Friedberg/Seltzer movie genre parody films? Because they are cheap and they make money in multiples of it's cost. Vampires Suck cost $20 million, made $80 million worldwide excluding DVD sales. So naturally they've been funded for their next parody film.
Now if someone can convince the money people that you can to the first book of any of those series affordably or convince them that it will be wildly successful but still cost $200 million to make then great. But that's not likely now is it? -

Well since he was stomping about all over Europe I would dare to say he knew D-Day went well.

But the other point that Rowan Atkinson is the fastest celeb on Top Gear seems to indicate he does have some driving chops. That's where my disconnect comes from.
It's like finding out Dolph Lundgren has a masters in Chemical Engineering and gave up a Fulbright Scholarship to MIT after two weeks when he got involved with Grace Jones and was introduced to acting. -
It did. It may also have instigated it as other nations used it as a pretense to attack.

It all depends on how many watts are available at 12 volts with a 300 watt PSU. Most store units from HP/Compaq, it's not a lot (maybe half, less than 2/3rds).
The 2nd gen iX-2xxx series of CPUs don't come close to their rated wattage in normal, even game, use. The OEM GT 530 (similar to the GT 430) is only a 50 watt max card. -
Seen most of these pictures a few weeks ago, I'm surprised someone thought this was new. And yes that's Sally Field as Aunt May and it's Emma Stone (now blond, yuck) as Gwen Stacy.

The major difference is Netflix and Spotify pay the studios money to "stream" that material with the idea that the stream isn't recordable by the subscriber thereby not making a copy of it.

I had my credit card company call because I bought $600 of clothes in one day (it was a new suit and a couple of dress shirts). Had a good laugh with the women from the credit card company about guys and clothes.

and he crashed it. Also he now tops the Top Gear "Star in a Reasonably Priced Car".
Who would have thunk it. -

A stopped clock is more reliable than the Server Status at the CoH website.
Then there's the fact they have yet merged in the EU servers. -
I don't believe they ever said that the booster packs will be available at the Paragon Point store but they did say that they won't be available for purchase at the NCSoft store once Freedom goes live.
What I'm afraid of is the boosters being broken up to the point that they will cost more than $10/800PP. Until a red name or a snapshot of the full in game store is available confirms that existing boosters are available there, I'm wary.
