  1. I did try a DP/Storm corruptor which on paper could be quite interesting. However, I lost interest in DP quite quickly.

I guess my options would be: Ice, Psy, Rad or Sonic. The upcoming /Fire could be interesting but then again I've never enjoyed fire blast.

Which obviously does not add up correctly..Also, after 5 stacks of FS, if I increase it in Mids..the damage on my attacks does not improve at all. Also..oddly..the info in mids is showing a fender damaged capped at 400 not 300. Could that have something to do which teh strange numbers?
All unslotted damage powers actually DO damage. Hence why we say it's 100% base damage. All the slotting you might add to it it's a boost that will go up to ED cap. Then, you have the buffing part (in this case Fulcrum).

A L21+ defender caps it's damage at 300% on top of those 100%. That means the actual damage cap is 400%.

    Fulcrum adds 25% damage buff per target. Therefore, 100% + 12*25% = 400%
  3. Slotting damage cap and buffing damage cap are two different things.

I'm not sure if I'm understanding you correctly, but basically you'd need to hit 12 targets to achieve damage cap (300% from buff plus the base 100%).
  4. Hello. My stormy, while still very playable, needs an update. I've been away for ~7months and missed many things (ie: incarnate stuff, inherent fitness, etc).

So this is my first shot at a new build. I might have a little too much ranged/nrg defense. I guess I could lose some and get some HP instead. I'm still trying to figure out what would be best for me.

Anyway, I'd appreciate any comments or suggestions to the following build, and I'll take it from there:

I have also had multiple of other builds too, Earth/Storm Controller and Storm/Ice Defender for example. Storm was my major thing for a long time due to my Storm/Dark. My Storm/Dark would also probably be considered my "main" for most purposes, though I do spread the love a lot.
Yea. I've played plenty of stormies but Storm/Dark is just too sexy.

Guess I'll roll a few stormies and see how it goes.

    Ty folks,

  7. Ola.

So, I've played the Storm set exhaustively (roughly 500 levels), most of them on controller side. Turns out my defender (Storm/Dark) is probably in my top3 favorite toons (maybe even nr1).

With the server list merge, I felt like experimenting the US servers - even though it always feels odd to play in a server other than Defiant.

The problem is that my Storm/Dark is a beast and it will probably make me look down on the other secondaries. Being able to PbAoE stun and immobilize the baddies is something I've learned to love, along with all the storm debuffing goodness.

I could roll another Storm/Dark (and if someone (or myself) doesn't convince me otherwise, I probably will), but it would be a shame not to give other combos a try.

So, please do share you experiences, builds and ideas. I'd greatly appreciate it.

    Ty,

  8. Ty for your reply :-) How do I get that version?

EDIT: Found it. Will give it a shot.
  9. Ola.

I've been having some issues since I came back to CoX after a 6-7 month absence.

I've always played using quality settings (Ultra mode even when not on raid or events) and have never had any problems. Now, CoX frequently stops responding after I launch the game (@login screen), load map or Alt+Tab.

Here are some of my PC specs:

    Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate
    Intel i5 @ 3.20ghz
    Ram: 4GB
GFX card: Ati Radeon HD 5XXX series

    I'd appreciate some feedback asap.

    Something Fun?

If you're actually willing to give it a shot, roll a stormie.

  12. Ola.

I'm not sure if this is already available - if it is I've never ever spotted it.

So, what I'm suggesting is pretty much a notification system (pretty much like facebook). It would be a simple feature, an icon that would notify you of the following:

    - When someone mentions your global.
    - When someone quotes you.
    - When someone replies on a thread of your interest (not sure if there's already a "watch thread" feature).
    - When someone PMs you.
    - and whatever other options that might be of interest. Actually there could be an option to configure your own preferences (ie: notify only when someone quotes you).

I just find this easier than refreshing and sailing through all the sections and subsections until I get to the thread I'm interested in.

If there's a similar system already, I'd appreciate it if you could tell me how it works.

    Ty,

    Falsey
  13. Ah, familiar faces

I know what you mean, Tommy. Defiant is "home". There's no way around it.

Do you happen to know if Guffy has been around? (@Bumguffy)
  14. I've always had a hard time defining a "best controller" (or any other AT, actually).

From what I've experience, all these factors affect my performance (in no particular order):

    1. Build - My power picks, my set bonuses, my accolades, etc. A soft capped for defense toon plays nothing like a toon built for recharge/end recovery.
    2. Team - This one is quite obvious.
    3. Playstyle - This depends a bit on my mood. I can play aggressively or not. Some days I prefer chilled, slow paced teams who actually like to enjoy a TF and chat a bit. Others, I just prefer a fast paced team, rushing through things and I find myself acting more like a Scraptroller than a controller.

Now I'll stop nitpicking and just name my preferences for end game:

Earth/Rad - Beast. Lots of tools to play with. Excellent control and debuffing. Damage is not so great.
Earth/Storm - I prefer this to my /Rad just because it's more aggressive and challenging. And I love Stormies.
Fire/Rad - A tad too easy for my taste. Beasty damage and ace control.
Fire/Storm - I'm still leveling it, but I know it will be a beast once the build is finished. Both control and damage wise.
  15. Olá.

So, I've just reactivated my account and I'm kind of stunned with the amount of changes in the past 6 months.

I'm doing some light reading on the patch notes to catch up with all this incarnation stuff, server list merge and freedom stuff. * If anyone is bored enough, maybe you can write a short version of all the new stuff to me :P *

Anyway, I went ingame last evening and it seemed to me like Defiant was kinda healthy, population wise. Not so surprising was to figure I couldn't recognize 80% of the players on Defiant Events.

So, for those who might recognize my global - who's still hanging around?

    Fair winds,

    Falsey
  16. I'm not talking about the powers individually, but your list as a whole set. It's a bit too good imo.

But ofc, dreaming of it won't hurt.

This would be ridiculously overpowered. Take a closer look at what you're asking:

    - The *arguably* best power in Devices set - caltrops;
    - 2 defining powers of Martial Arts set - Eagle Claw and Crane Kick
    - A penalty-free stealth
    - Quickness!
    - +Endurance

    And build-up.

I think its going to be either the earth/fire/ice or the fire/earth/ice as the better synergies but I'm not sure.

I'd say Earth/Ice/Fire for fantastic lockdown and graphics goodness or Fire/Earth/Ice for great damage both ST and PbAoE with good controls.

Can't speak for Ice/ as I've never played the set to a decent level but I'm sure someone will show up and speak for it.
  19. Yea, meant manipulation. Do want.
  20. Just saying it out loud.
  21. I've actually had a lot of fun with my Ice/Dev. Granted, I mostly soloed with it. But whenever I was in teams, I still did my job. And if I find my damage is lacking, I just pop whatever red insps I get.

I think it should be quite hilarious to set up a Devices superteam and level exclusively from street hunting, Trials and TFs.
  22. Olá.

I'm currently at work, so I can't really play with Mids atm. I'd like to get some feedback regarding this combo. On paper, it should do some serious ST DPS. I know Fire/Elec might top it but I'm not fond of Fire blast and I like to play not-so-common combos, so I'm dead set on this one.

I haven't played for the past couple months so I haven't really experimented side changing, incarnate content and all that stuff, so I guess any build I try to make will be out of shape.

Considering I'm a fan of ranged defense, what APP should I go for? ~40% will do the trick, I don't really NEED to be soft capped. I keep going for Cold Mastery on my blasters. But that was before Going Rogue. I'm not sure what Villain Epics can a Blaster get, but it's something I must consider.

Another thing I'd like to know is how good/bad are the new sonic animations? Do they still root you?

And for last, but not less important, I know absolutely nothing about this incarnate stuff. All I know is that I can unlock some sort of Alpha Slot. Is it a slot that I can place in any power I want or...?

Feel free to post any builds you might have in mind, just so I can get an idea.

    Thank-joo.

EDIT: While money isn't an issue I'd like to stay away from PvP recipies and damage purples (except for the proc).

The -Recharge in Glue Arrow is almost non-existant (Rad has -75% Recharge in Ling Rad). It has almost no -ToHit, since Flash Arrow only gives about 5% (Rad has 25% in Rad Inf). The Defense Debuff in Acid Arrow is decent, but the radius is far too small. The only really good debuff is -Resistance, with 15% from Acid (with its too small radius) and 15% from Dispersion Arrow (Rad has 22.5% -Resistance from EF, a toggle with a larger radius than Acid). TA has 20% Damage debuff from PGA (Rad has 25% from EF).

(Those numbers are off the top of my head . . . I probably should double check them.)

Rad outshines TA in all debuffs except -Resistance. TA has some nice control powers and a nice damage power to somewhat make up for it, but TA's numbers really are a problem. A lot of ideas have been thrown around, and many of them have merit: Increase the radius of Acid, add -Regen to PGA, Add more ToHit Debuff to Flash, add more -Recharge to Glue Arrow, etc.
I'm just saying maybe the problem lies in other sets being a tad overpowered. This game is too easy as it is. And it's getting easier every Issue (IOs, incarnate system, etc). No AT should be able to solo Lusca for example. Sure, I've done it and it felt great - but maybe it shouldn't be possible.

I could go on and on with the changes that I think this game needs, but it'd be way off topic.

Long story short, I do agree TA needs a buff or at least some tweaks.
  24. I'd give a minor buff to PGA or DA and that's about it. TA is extremely endurance friendly and the cast times are suberb. Also, some might argue that having no toggles is a blessing (I like having a debuff toggle just for the sake of herding or safer pulling).

TA is good. Rad and Cold are ridiculously good and easy to use. Maybe that's the problem to begin with.
  25. I might be there. I can't tell you for sure. Save me a spot, please.
