    LOL!

I am imagining a city full of people with rosy cheeks!
  2. Whatever can help me get through the next mob faster than I can on my own. If that means some heals in between my self heal or more damage or buffs and debuffs then I love it.

As for teaming with those looking for specific ATs. If they are star that is fine but if they take too long (for whatever reason) then I will probably drop. I have been on a PUG of random ATs for TFs/AVs that worked extremely well and not so well. Same for crafted teams although the fastest ITF I have been on was a carefully built team by the star who knew what he wanted and it was pretty awesome.

    Fun scrapper

My first toon was a Kat/DA and I absolutely love her. She melts through the mobs now and is an absolute joy to play. It is an endurance heavy set but that can be offset by knowing when to have certain clickys going and to carry a few blues with you.

I just started a Kat/Elec and that has been fun to play too.

Read through the entire thread, it is full of really good advice.

Kat/Da is pretty awesome when SO'd out. It is an insane beast when properly IO'd out. I am still learning about IO sets and playing around with my build but I based most of it on that thread above and she is very impressive.

    Edited to add:

a lot of the IOs I use were from drops or by being patient and not paying a lot at WW. I did trade a few merits for a couple of recipes. Even though that link lists IO builds it can give you a good idea what to slot for in each attack and toggle. You may need to play with the slotting a bit if you are going to stay away from IO sets completely.

    Kat/Elec

I just started working on a build and hope to create the character sometime tonight or tomorrow but this is what I am looking at so far:

    Hero Profile:
    Level 1: Gambler's Cut -- Empty(A)
    Level 1: Charged Armor -- Empty(A)
    Level 2: Flashing Steel -- Empty(A)
    Level 4: Conductive Shield -- Empty(A)
    Level 6: Hurdle -- Empty(A)
    Level 8: Build Up -- Empty(A)
    Level 10: Combat Jumping -- Empty(A)
    Level 12: Divine Avalanche -- Empty(A)
    Level 14: Static Shield -- Empty(A)
    Level 16: Health -- Empty(A)
    Level 18: Super Jump -- Empty(A)
    Level 20: Lightning Field -- Empty(A)
    Level 22: The Lotus Drops -- Empty(A)
    Level 24: Stamina -- Empty(A)
    Level 26: Soaring Dragon -- Empty (A)

I originally went with SotW on my Kat/DA and switched over to G.C. during the respec and never regretted it at all. I left the damage aura for 20 because I tend to get into way too much trouble with it prior. By the time I hit 20 I am usually moving along pretty well and extra aggro does not bother me.

Note though that I did not say mine was better, I probably just have a different playing style. For the higher levels I am planning on going with Kick, Tough, and Weave plus Conserve Power and Physical Perfection.

Oh I plan on Lightning Reflexes @ 28 so I opted to not take Hasten and will add some +rech in my IO build.
  6. I was on one team where myself, another PB, and the tank alternated on the mobs. Still not really sure what the other 5 did on the team because usually there was not anything left standing, KB or not, when we struck.

I have also used KB to knock foes that were hit by others with KB back to the Tank. Volley ball but with villains. Lots o' fun.

I was glad to see in the Virtue TF channel, a few times, Khelds especially welcome. Why? Apparently the day before the person had teamed with a bunch of Khelds and was impressed with the damage being dealt.
  7. I took the only blaster that I like up a few levels running radios in PI with an SG mate and a few who were LFT. Things went really well and I had a good time.

Spent a lot of time leveling my BS/SD. The first PUG was not to my liking and I ended up dropping after a mish and teaming with an SG mate for about an hour. Called it the night and hopped back on the next day.

Ended up on a team running at a much higher level and after a bit I ended up with the star. I was not really in the mood to be the star but fortunately one of the others who remained was great tank and a lot of help. Plus the same SG mate was on and it is always fun running with even just one other SG member.

So we did radios in Talos until I dc'd. re-joined for a mission and then took a break as I had been on for 8 hours at that point.

    Elec/Nrg Build

I usually play on a scrapper but have tried different things from time to time. I never played with IO sets very much and am starting to get a decent feel for them.

Blasting I try to stay way in the back with a safety wall of tankers and scrappers in between myself and the bad guys. If I do not I tend to forget how squishy I am and go charging in, lol.

Here is a build I am contemplating and it is off but I am not sure where to go with it. Any constructive advice is most welcome.

    Thanks.

  9. Thanks Werner, that definitely gives me a bit to play with in Mids. Been in game for only a little over a year and just started recently paying attention to things such as soft cap and IOs. The gap right now is minimal and does not impact most of my play. I really notice it when it comes to banging on pylons and some AVs.
  10. Here is the easily to tell what other builds heavily influenced mine that I am aiming for and just about there on my Kat/DA.

Question: Would I be better served with another PerfShift + %End in Physical Protection?

Thank you for any and all input.
  11. What I like about my TriForm Warshade is that she can fit into so many roles on a team. Right after I picked up the Dwarf form the great Tanker we had on a PUG had to drop and so I filled in that role. Another team later on did great with tanking and damage so I decided to go with the flow and just blast from above. Small PUG? Then I can do all three.

My human only PB deals a lot of damage right now and I still need to go through a respec to really make her extra shiney. She basically plays as a scrapper and does really well in that role.
  12. I was feeling pretty invulnerable on my Kat/DA the other day so I decided to jump into a nice little group of invaders. Handled the first group fine but there was only one boss in there. Found a second, more difficult group and managed to do okay for the first boss and a couple of minions but quickly crashed and burned after that.

My toon is only about halfway through in obtaining and slotting IOs. So back to WW I go.
  13. Just thought I would throw another vote behind Kat/DA. It is how I started CoH and I still play that toon a lot. Ok, primarily use that toon because she is just so awesome.
  14. 2NU had a hit in the 80s that lasted a brief time and it was called This Is Ponderous. It was spoken words with an odd bit of special effects and voice work set to a beat. It is quirky and it is the sort of music you think, "Wow they really had fun making that one." From that album I recommend DDS Blues and Franks Chair where you learn there is no such thing as dusk in the city.

2NU still exists as 2NU2 and is still cranking out odd, haunting, upbeat, and beautiful music that will stick with you.

In reply to another post, I have not tried a perma hasten but am currently working on my Kat/Da to hit softcap (or at least really close) based on Claws and Werner's posts to the forum.

And purples, still waiting for them. Tonight I ran some AV arc storyline and the biggest drop was an Orange pet IO recipe. One day my purples will come, I can just feel it.
  15. I am still a bit new to tweaking to offer up anything useful and it is an impressive looking build. Are you popping any purples when facing down a boss or AV?

BTW, your title now has the awesome 2NU song stuck in my head.

"This in ponderous man, really ponderous..."
  16. Another Kat/Da here!

She was my first toon and I had no idea what I was doing (and still feel that way most days on here). I was bored while visiting family over the holidays and decided to sign up for the free trial. I had her to max level (for the trial accounts) in no time and signed on.

Anyway, the SG I belong to has a lot of respect for the toon as she does kick butt. I recently did a respec and am trying to pick up what I need to get the Defense up. I will probably post something on the boards in the next few days like her current build and looking for feedback.
  17. IE 8? My sympathies.

CTRL+Shift+F should get you the InPrivate Filters which will allow you to configure ad blocking. Then you should be able to just add the pathway to the images you want to block.
  18. Xenite speaks the truth, make both.

I started with a PB and went Human only, love her lots and recently took her out to held a SG mate hit 50. My WS is tri-form and is just as much fun to play.
  19. I get the most reactions on my Kat/Da scrapper, now level 50.

    And my Tri-form Warshade.
  20. My Kat/Da scrapper was my first and is still my fave to use. She taught me good endurance management and can deal some heavy damage. She went to 50 fairly quickly. I love OG.
  21. I use human form as a primary on my 50 PB. Need to respec out of Nova which was very helpful in the lower levels but I simply have no need for it now. She is a complete joy to use.

Now my WS I went with Tri-Form and absolutely love it.
  22. I do not have an NRG/NRG blaster but I do have toons that do KB. Only had one or two complaints and have never been kicked. Most recently received kudos for KB when a Boss type ran around the mines that had been set. Did some damage on him and then used KB to throw him into the mines. Dead boss. Errr, arrested boss.
  23. Go to one of the trainers and an option will be there to switch to a second build. Then you can choose your powers again (within the Power Sets you chose from the get go) and assign the slots. You will need to buy, collect, whatever the IOs to slot your second build, just like the first.

You can then switch back and forth by visiting the trainer. I believe the time is 15 minutes min in the build before you can switch again.
  24. Funny vid. I can never watch that scene without thinking of the scene in Chasing Amy, "...Vader's beautiful black visage is sullied when he rips off his mask to reveal a feeble crusty-old white man!"

And yes, drawing aggro from a tank when I am not on a scrapper is not always a good thing.

In fact it was a little bit frightening
But they fought with expert timing

And the only scrapper? I would have been all over that.
