Stylish and functional

Random question: What build do you think is the most effective while also being cool looking?

It's a matter of personal taste, of course.

hmmm...since I'm currently working on a DB/WP brute I'll vote for that.
Although now that I think about it, DB/Fire Scrapper would look neat.

Sometimes you get the bear; sometimes he get you, rips your head off, sucks out your eyes, pulls out your spleen, humps your leg and pees in your boots

Storm/Rad Defender. The two sexiest-looking sets out there.

Having Vengeance and Fallout slotted for recharge means never having to say you're sorry.

First thing that came to mind was anything Storm or /Storm...having been said already, I'll say a Tri-Form Warshade.

Illusion/Storm Controller, but only if you've got a vet attack or two. (Spectral Wounds + Blind does not an attack chain make)

Ive always thought that DB/Dark looked cool (pre stealth power) and worked well - particularly if the characters cossie is mostly white!

If your mouse has greater processing power than your gfx card, the answer is yes.

I have a SS/DA brute that I find very enjoyable. Nothing like a cloud of the netherworld dong a knockout blow.

Out of my 50s I'd probably have to say my Earth/Fire Dominator and my Ice/Storm Corruptor - mainly for the Earth/ and /Storm parts - those sets just feel "super" because they're very effective in gameplay while also looking so visually impressive.

The thought of playing an Earth/Storm Controller blows my mind - I'll have to get around to playing one at some point.

I get the most reactions on my Kat/Da scrapper, now level 50.

And my Tri-form Warshade.

-unsurprised at the storm responses-

Yeah, get a good costume and roll a stormy.

Or dual blades is okay too, since not many play that anymore. Katana's a bit too overdone for my tastes.

Keep an eye out for the new Issue 16 Martial Arts and Super Strength animations.

That reminds me, I've been considering rolling a Bots/Storm mastermind... I presume they would fall under this heading, if you liked robots?

Sorta depends. In my experience, Bots/ goes from 'meh, you mean that's all they do?' in the first 25 levels of the game, then rapidly transitions up into 'WHOA THOSE ARE COOL' by 32.

Roll an Earth/Storm troller or even an Earth/Thermal. Fancy graphics

I love my Earth/Storm. Enough slows, -def and -res to make most groups of enemies cry, can practically keep Romulus on his back with KD, and makes Nemesis minions in vengeance cry.

Plant/storm has been my pick for the best eye candy.

This too. I have one and really, nothing has made me have a giggle fit quite like hurricaning a group of baddies into a corner and watching the Bots maul 'em to death.

Personally I think bots are the coolest and most visually impressive MM pets, plus they have the best synergy between the 3 tiers of pets (mainly because they're all ranged and have similar ranges - unlike mercs - so the pets stay together and near you, for bodyguard), so they'd certainly fall under "stylish and functional."

One of the main reasons I've seen people disliking bots is the clanking noise they make when moving, but that never bothered me - in fact it adds to their awesomeness imho, because they sound heavy duty.

I may have no desire to play another MM (felt too detached from the action, plus it was all too easy, yet somehow spawns took longer to kill than for many of my other characters), but I certainly don't regret playing my bot/dark to 50 and having also played /storm to 50 I think bot/storm would work pretty well (better than storm would with melee pets).

Stone/WP Brute or vice-versa on a tank. Awesomely cool amounts of screen shaking, and the end to keep it going

Agreed. Storm has bigger graphics, but Plant has cooler graphics.
