I'm deciding on which Pet to take for my SS/Shield brute. I'll either go for support or damage. From what I've read, Clockwork is the best support so I'll go with that if I want to go down that route, but I'm unsure of which pet is best in AoE and which is best in single target damage (I'll decide eventually if I want the AoE or single target).
Now would be a good time as well to let me know if it's even worth it to go for damage and that support would be best. -
thanks so much guys for your input. now i can go on to making my fire/shield scrap into a killing machine

I've been working on this build for my Fire/SD who'll be 50 soon and wanted to know if there are any final alterations I should make before I get to it. I know my End consumption is kind of high, but I couldn't find any way to lower it without sacrificing other values. I'm hoping that the End recovery will be high enough to offset this, but I'm not too sure. Also, I've noticed that some/most builds don't have GFS. how come and should I opt to get it instead of one of the other attacks?
Any feedback would really help!

thanks for the input! I never solo so I'm not so concerned with that, but I can see how it would be much more fun than pain. I'm not sure how I would like it if teams just wanted me for heals...
-
So I'm thinking of making a Thugs MM and can't decide on the secondary. I did some searching on the forums and narrowed it down to these 2. I'm very familiar with Storm, but have no experience with Pain. Which of these has better synergy with Thugs and why?
As for how I play, I always team so anything that will help the team is a plus. -
awesome. thanks all! Guess that made up my mind! stalker it is!
-
So I'm trying to decide which AT to pick, but I'm having a hard time finding a thread that lists the difference or pros/cons between the two. I've heard that CS is different between the two, but havent found out why, specifically. I plan on having a KM/WP scrapper or a KM/Nin Stalker in case anyone is curious. I'd appreciate any input!
-
/Fire if you want an AoE monster. You might die a lot, but if there's a good tank on the team to get the aggro of you, you can kill a lot..very fast.
-
thanks so much. this is the kind of advice i was hoping for
-
So I made this build for my SS/SD brute and I had a hard time making it as good as my elec/shield scrapper. End Recovery/drain is not that great, but everything else suffered if I tried to up them. Can anyone give some feedback? Im not that good at this so the build might look like a mess. My only requirement is the Leaping travel power and double-stacked rage. I don't particularly care for Taunt, but I'd like to keep Hurl (though I wont be upset if that cant happen). I'd like to have the fire epic, but also dont mind if that needs to change to another hero epic

it says on mids the 2nd tier demons can have their heal enhanced. I've never seen him do the heal. Granted Im still at a low level so I havent seen much, but I was wondering if it was worth enhancing this heal (not using IO's, just regular enhancements). Anybody know?
sidenote: my secondary is dark if that matters any -
I have a grav/kin and its alright. There isn't much synergy between the two though, but that's mainly because I still find the grav set to be underwhelming. I've heard grav/TA works good too because of the -KD in TA.
-
-
yeah, I've noticed that phanty has been dying a lot more often due to being in melee all the freakin' time.
-
-
interesting, yet informative replies haha. Thank you all so much
. I guess I'll continue farming solo then.
Smurphy, what kind of Brute do you have? -
what do most people do? what's the benefit of teaming with others vs. being by yourself. From what I can tell, it's better to farm with others if you're doing it for experience and want to be fast (I suppose fast Infl. is another reason). Otherwise, doing it solo is best, am I right?
EDit: damnit..wrong section. sorry all -
unfortunately I shall not be joining tonight

Quote:hm yeah, i totally don't give a damn about the "greater good" of the market. I'm a bit selfish and lazy :3If everyone did random rolls and placed them on the market, it would be better for the community as a whole. More supply and generally lower prices.
I'm not saying anyone should or shouldn't do that. It's entirely your choice.
I'll probably try both methods to see how I feel about it though. -
Quote:Oh thank you bionic. Very helpful!Best use: Decide what you want and need and then consult this chart to find the best odds.
-
Ok. Thanks all. I suppose I'll try out the random roll'ing. So would people agree that the lvl 35-39 range is where most of the good/expensive recipes are?
-
I would also say /invul. I'm leveling another /shield scrapper and....he is not the most survivable toon. I have a fully IO'd scrapper and I *know* how good /shield can be, but leveling one up is kind of depressing in comparison. I've seen some /invul scrappers pull off some incredible feats.
As for the primary, I believe that Fire has more damage, whereas Dark has more survivability. Choose which you want. -
I was wondering what's the best use of my merits that will get me richer. Should I use them to get highly coveted IO's (i.e, Numina's + Regeneration/Recovery or LotG: Recharge) and sell them or use the merits on random recipe rolls? Are there any other IO recipes that go higher than the 2 that I listed? If I were to go for random recipe rolls, should I roll the lvl 47-50 ones? Thanks for your help guys

This sums it up pretty nicely

We're all losing focus on the important issue here. Convincing someone in NCSoft to write up the full proposal for the Dark Manipulation secondary for blasters.
1) Gravimetric Snare (it needs a name change)
2) Shadow Punch
3) Smite
4) Soul Drain
5) Dark Consumption
6) Shadow Maul
7) Midnight Grasp
8) Cloak of Darkness
9) Fearsome Stare
Go Sunstorm! Go Castle! Go someone else!

Actually Synapse and I have been puzzling over the dark sets. Just for fun, I'll shed some light on the subject.
So, lets start this with a riddle, since the explanation is just as incomprehensible. Why does Dark Miasma overlapping Dark Control powers make a straight port of Dark Manipulation problematic?
The explanation is, there are a couple powersets that would be sharing an interesting combination of powers. For example, Controllers want Dark Control and Dark Miasma, except Dark Miasma is already a very control heavy set which would supply a lot of Dark Controls powers. Combining Dark/Dark this way could lead to a lot of overalap.
Dominators would want Dark Control and Dark Assault, so Dark Assault would have to be careful not to include control powers from Dark Blast or Dark melee.
Blasters are easier, however the powers that go to blasters would likely be included in Dark Assault, which goes opposite dark control.
Then there are the general AT wide no-no's. Such as: giving armor powers to non-armored classes, or overlapping powers alread in patron pools.
So in the end, it's not designing one powerset. It's designing 3 different powersets:
Dark Control/Dark Miasma for Controllers
Dark Control/Dark Assault for Dominators
Dark Blast/Dark Manipulation for Blasters
Well, that's enough "dark" for several posts. And no, nothing is in the works yet.
