I say, why roll for levels below 50?
-
So here's my first go at a TriForm Warshade. I know it will cost me an arm and a leg, but I'm no stranger to painful exercises in Inf accumulation.
I'm sure the build is deficient in more in one way, so please have at it. Don't pay too much attention to slot levels...

I can't seem to nail down the prevailing opinion, for my Search Fu is weak. What does the esteemed ebil community consider the most profitable AE roll?
Salvage ain't gonna cut it - tried it myself.
I don't need anything for me, I'm only looking to sell.
In my own experience Bronze rolls produced a few decent recipes for crafting. Should I stick with Bronze? -
Regardless of how easy one may rebuild his wealth, it would be incredibly frustrating. Even if accumulating X influence was no problem, just having your efforts wiped out suddenly... not cool.
-
Streetcorner ranting can be fun and satisfying, if done right...
Anyway, I finally could be arsed to visit the AE and even ran with a team today. Rolled an grudzillion tons of common salvage from the earnings, and we'll see how much it'll bring me inf-wise. -
Warrior characters are probably the easiest to come up with costumes for.
- Regular armor.
- Alternative armor
- Hi-tech armor if you are normally low-tech/low tech armor if you are normally hi-tech (to visit Cimerora and not scare the locals).
- Armor with helmet off - or with helmet on, if you don't wear a helmet normally.
- Civilian clothes. -
Well then it's even worse...
I confess to having never touched AE, so I don't know how much common salvage X number of tickets will translate into. So I have no idea on how profitable salvage rolling would be.
But even if educated marketeers don't have sufficient enticement to roll for salvage and sell, what's to be expected of regular folk? Unless something changes significantly, we may see a long time of outrageous prices on commons... -

You don't like that game?!
[/ QUOTE ]
Shocking, right?
Ahh, good old +Recharge. Good thing: I know how to collect a lot of it. Bad thing: it is bloody expensive. -

I thought The Market rhetoric was that prices can't be broken or wrong...
[/ QUOTE ]
Who said anything about broken or wrong? Prices are higher because supply is lower. Exactly as expected.
[/ QUOTE ]
But when will we see a correction? Will we?
High prices should, in theory, entice people to try and make a buck off them, thereby supplying the market and driving the prices down eventually.
However, an average AE baby probably doesn't know that Recipe+Salvage = Enhancement. An average AE baby knows, however, that a lucky recipe roll + WW = grudzillions of profit. So an average AE baby will keep rolling for recipes, while ebil marketeers continue to profit from selling salvage, but not supplying nearly enough of it to bring down the prices...
Doom? -
Let's say an arc begins at level 1.
Some missions are intended for level 5.
I gain level 10, before I get to these missions. Now I've outgrown them.
Can I skip them and pick up the arc from a later mission or is it lost to me and I should Ouroboros it? -
Gah! You said "Oblivion", and almost triggered my Rage button
-
Bob's on to something.
He also just made me depressed. -
It is possible to be "set for life" on a per-character basis if you have attained your optimal build and only do PvE. On Extor Prime, I have both builds fully slotted for perma-everything and a great many other bonuses. I can kill anything that is theoretically solo-able by an Ill/Rad, if I have enough patience. The only things I can't do on my own require teams to begin with (ship raids, high-level TFs, etc.). Even if a new purple set with amazing bonuses is released, chances are I won't buy it only because every bonus and every slot I have from my current sets has its place, and improving anything will probably cause me to lose one or another bonus I've grown fond of.
I have 300M on hand and nothing to really spend it on, besides maybe tailor, but then again, I have a ton of free tailor session coupons. I could retire from market right now and probably never dip below 300M even if I decide to act all charitable - I generate side income running missions as the "part of life" of the character.
PvP is a different story, everyone's always jockeying for the absolute best, even if the second best lags by 0.05%. But "PvP is a silly place".
That said, I'm going to torture the market until I get to 1-1.5B in liquid cash. By the way, I'm a casual player... -
I'm starting to look at my tri-form build, and I'm not entirely sure what IO sets I should be gunning for.
As an Ill/Rad controller, my lifeblood was +Recharge (and the ensuing perma-PA).
What attribute should I be looking to maximize as a tri-form shade? -
In the space of one weekend I squeaked my way to level 7 (admittedly I did more than just play). Going is slow (at least pre-nova), quantums are annoying and AE teaming invites are plentiful.
I'm trying my best to keep up with the warshade storyline, but in the end, is it worth it? Do I lose much by fast-forwarding to later levels? -
Damn.
Just, damn.
Thanks for the explanation. -
Just started a new Warshade tonight. As always, early power and slot choices are a conundrum, and the guides are horridly obsolete.
I took (only level 4 mind you):
- Ebon Eye
- Gravimetric Snare
- The first shield
I want to go tri-form, and I'm having trouble figuring out the role of the human form. Nova blasts, dwarf tanks, what does the human form do? -
A man goes away for a few months, and comes back to some twisted alternative universe. Sounds familiar? Sure does to me...
Common salvage that "back in the day" went for no more than 10K (I'm talking Nevermelting Ices here, and similar crap) is going for 25K and up. I mean, Scientific Theories barely ever fetched that much in early 2009!
What did you people DO?! -
I loved their reasoning for the rename: "The term SciFi is associated with nerdy overweight kids with body odor who live in their mothers' basements; we do not want this type of audience - we want the young, hip tech-savvy crowd."
They succeeded in pissing off Science Fiction fans; now, who exactly are they planning to attract? The "young, hip, tech-savvy" users of Facepuke or something? -
Psi is a great Epic pool, but it is also somewhat situational. If you mostly do PvE, then your pets will absorb a vast majority of attacks, and your own defense isn't quite as important.
Since there's a dual build option now, I would suggest getting a Fire epic for your everyday build and a Psi epic for PvP/Psi-heavy opposition, such as Rikti. In terms of offense, Fire is noticeably superior to Psi, and it gives you damage type diversity - your other attacks are Psi already, and without a different damage type you may suffer somewhat against robots and Nemesis.
Don't bother with Stealth IOs and Concealment pool. Your own Invis powers are a lot better (at least because they don't make you waste a pool pick). Fly is a better travel power for you too - you'll want to hover and blast from above while your pets fight below.
Your Invisibility powers should be used to mule LOTG +7.5%. Yes, they work even if the power isn't on. -
I already have a fully pimped-out Ill/Rad and a fully pimped out En/En blaster, so I know what it's like to be a god and a glass cannon.
For some reason, I've been itching to create a character that is a bit more directly involved in a fight. Maybe because every so often I feel as if my decoys and Phantasm are doing my job for me.
Now here's my problem.
It's got to be a hero.
I don't really dig melee-heavy characters, so scrappers and tankers are out. I want to avoid a pet-heavy AT as well.
Lastly, I want a character that will eventually be AWESOME at something (money isn't an object at this point). Either awesome at beating up large crowds, or cracking hard targets alone.
Would PB or WS fit the bill? Or should I try a Defender perhaps? -
So it seems that it's time for my third (count 'em!) fling with CoH! Reupped completely on a whim this morning, possibly because I felt weird after being woken up at 5 AM by a strange phone call.
Or maybe I just missed wearing a cape.
How are things these days? Has AE devastated Virtue as well? -
