Quote:Collections also show what content that person has purchased. Like the SSAs or First Ward. Ive seen iTrials get stalled by freems and premiums joining up. I can only assume that teams would get stalled by teammates that havent bought the content beforehand.... never PuGed an SSA or First Ward.Thank you for replying, but you totally failed to address what I was saying.
Costume parts listed in the Collections tab? Agreed, it makes sense. But WHY are other people allowed to see what costume parts I do or don't have? Why do you think it matters to them, unless it's to be seen as another type of badge to collect?
To quote the patch notes: "Players can view other players' collections just as they can view their badges."
Why? -
Quote:Where have they said that? I havent seen any posts to that affect.Instead, the developers have stated that they are sticking with the trial at +3.
Was it in the Ustream? I missed it this week... and the cliff notes only say "no comment... ask Baryonyx."
Not being accusitory, but I'd like to see ANY red name response to this issue, even that one. -

The trials arent perfect, but theres nothing I hate about the trials themselves. I find them fun, exciting, challenging and epic. Even UG. Not that anyone can be positive about Incarnate content.
I hate that the devs cant give the playerbase anything remotely different than the same old solo/single team arc content. -
Thats because the LFG dumps you in the trial with too few people.
It's set to queue up to the minimum, which for the DFB is 4. You have to go in with at least 6 people otherwise the AVs only spawn as EBs and becomes not worth running for xp.
Just another failure of that system. -
Quote:For what its worth, the Devs have gone on record saying they have plans for a new spring/summer event and are trying to get it in game for this year.It just an re hash of the last few years with a few little thing to buy with candy canes. Oh yeah and the use of LFG tool for attacking Lord Winter..which work as well as some folks point out. Not well.
The focus of the content team seems to be on more paid content and the Itrials now. Not updating fun special events to keep them updated.
Just not a fun holiday this year in Paragon. *sigh* -
Um... the Degenerative toxic dot is absolutely affected by my Huntsman's Venom Grenade.

Never had many alts. My main had a lot of effort and IOs and miles under his belt. He'd done everything and there was little point in doing it again with a weaker alt I enjoyed less. I stopped bothering rolling them altogether because I didnt want to waste time with an alt I wasnt going to like (I try to give them a fair shake and get them to the mid 20s) and end up wasting all that time... time I could have spent rocking stuff with my main.
Now I've got five 50+3s. (thats a lot to me ok!) Thanks to the DFB I can tell in an hour or two if I'll enjoy my new alt rather than a week or two... then delete/reroll or keep going to regular content. I didnt even know I liked entire archetypes until now. Now Im constantly rolling new toons. I've already filled the last of my home server slots with a future Grav troller/dom and future Staff stalker.

****, can no thread with the word "trial" in go without this crap? "I reserve judgement" is enough.
Smaller trials would be a great option I think. Sometimes the 8 or so people in the staging area arent uber enough to do a Lambda like that. Be nice for those that want a trial to have one they could do in those situations. -
[QUOTE=TheJazMan;4041797
- The long animations can get annoying. When you don't have momentum, it can be a HUGE pain in the butt. The worst is when you are winding up and your team wipes out the target during your wind-up.
Also, you get Momentum if you were going to hit the target whether it dies beforehand or not. So your next targets in for a world of hurt. -
Re: the delayed impact/sound effects
I think it was intentional. Made to mimic those parts in movies and anime where the guy swings his sword and the offending enemy appendage falls off after a bit of dramatic pause. Personally I kinda like it. -
I like the new trials a lot.
Its unfortunate that I have to run my lvl 53s to contribute and have a good time though. They dont even need the increased rewards, there's no incentive for me to run them other than for the fun of it. That's not enough when this system was billed as a way to progress my 50s.
My up and comming Incarnates would love the rewards... the 60 thread boost, the better rare and very rare drop rates... and even more than that because I'm so freaking sick of BAFs and Lambdas I wouldnt mind never running one again. Unfortunately taking anything less than a 53 at best doesnt contribute much to the leagues success... and at worse actually hinders it.
Honestly, if they nerfed the rewards for the TPN and MoM and removed the level shifts so my unfinished incarnates have more to do, I'd be all for it. -
The tier 9 is a twirling breakdance of doom... and the PBAoE attack got a few more twirls.
The rest of the attacks seem to keep the same animations more or less. -
Quote:Personally, I get the feeling that the trials are actually those "small groups" you're talking about. You'd be wrong.
I have certainly seen comics where large groups of heroes fight. If the battles are important, you get smaller groups accomplishing one aspect while the rest do something else.
Its a war. Steel Canyon and Skyway are getting wrecked, the large groups of heroes are on the homefront repelling the assault where they can. The smaller, specialized groups (incarnates) are making calculated strikes on the Praetorians to help turn the tide.
Whether or not the game does a decent job at conveying that (or if that's what is supposed to be going on at all) is something else. -
Airplane!
Robin Hood Men in Tights
The Incredibles (a bit out of timeframe, but imperitive viewing for working in this genre of game I think)
Mystery Men -

Quote:I dont want to.TPN is actually far less complicated than MOM in terms of mechanics. It's just a matter of efficiency and tenacity. Both trials were completed during beta, after strategies were figured out. So please don't just say "It's too hard" then go back to running BAF and Lambda.
The playerbase will force me to. -
The TPN feels like an extended version of the Prisoner Escape phase of the BAF... with a much smaller margin of error.
Everyone has a role. AoEers and control types camp doors and handle the minions in the BAF, and massacre the Technician spawns in the TPN. Single target oriented types spike the commandos in the BAF, and eliminate the Telepathists in the TPN.
Hopefully like the BAF, the TPN will be done in our sleep once what's expected becomes more common knowledge. -
I agree that the TPN is much to complicated. The "gimmicks" pile on much to fast and furious with no explanation of what the league is supposed to do to succeed... and VERY little room for error. I got the impression from my experience that if the league doesnt know exactly what it needs to do at every phase and execute it perfectly, you fail.
MoM on the other hand is damn near perfect. Only one or two "gimmicks" at one time, and TIME to explain what's going to happen in between phases to get the league on the same page.
I like TPN well enough, but I'd do MoM every night. -
Staff Fighting and Darkness Control are both in I22... and I think I22 is closer to March than February.
Still, I got more than enough to keep me busy at this pace! -
They'll probably figure out a way to stop the sale of the free "extra" Staff skins for people that dont buy the set outright... if they do anything.
-
I can only hope the Medieval set is too far along for the devs cancel the Chainmail Bikini.
EDIT: More on topic, I cant wait for next week's UStream! -
Quote:So... how does making new art assets for a new Incarnate zone AND adding story arcs and a TF to Dark Astoria equate to saving time/effort compared to just making new art assets for a new Incarnate zone ?I'll express my opinion once again: all Dark Astoria needed was a series of story arcs and a TF or two to put it on par with Croatoa and Striga. Much less work involved futzing with 'art assets', and with the time/effort saved they could have worked on a whole new 50+ co-op Incarnate zone. Fans of the old Dark Astoria: happy! People who want 50+ co-op Incarnate content: happy! Everybody's happy!
Or not.
Dark Astoria needed content, it got it.
VIPs wanted smaller scale Incarnate content, they got it.
Freems and Prems look at new fancy looking Incarnate content and maybe ponder subbing.
Fans of old Dark Astoria access it through Ouroborus, they get that too.
And the devs get to move on to the next project... knocking out 2 big player requests at once. -
Quote:Whoo! Im gonna buy the PANCAKE outta these.[XP Booster Temporary Power

The XP Booster Temporary Power increases XP Gain by 25% for one hour. Once activated, the XP Booster cannot be turned off, and you will be unable to run multiple versions of the XP Booster at the same time. It has no benefits for characters who have XP Disabled or are at Level 50. This has NO effect on Incarnate XP Gain.
Paragon Market Location: Paragon Picks > Black Friday
XP Booster Temporary Power (1 charge)
Regular Price: 120 Points
Sale Price: 30 Points
XP Booster Temporary Power (3 charges)

XP Booster Temporary Power (5 charges)

They were so expensive before I hoarded the ones I got for free as Paragon Rewards. I had to be sure I wouldnt waste them because I wasnt going to get any more.
I'm glad you put those IO sets on the Market as well... even though I spent last weekend blowing hundreds of millions of influence on 5 Kinetic Combat sets for my brute.
I would suggest selling some of those IOs individually. I'd sooner pay 200pts for a LotG +Recharge IO before I'd spend 400pts on that and a bunch of other IOs I'm not ever going to use.
