  1. I think the person suggested we do a Hami Raid was just complimenting us on doing a good job. We did bring a solid team. Our weekly SG events are normally 7-9:30 Eastern. It would take a lot of wrangling for us to attend a regular hump day hami raid - but we may some day!
  2. Thanks to everyone who showed up. We had a great run and actually turned around and did it a second time.
  3. Hi everyone, my supergroup The Paladins of the Night, are holding a Riki Mothership Raid this Wednesday at 7:30 pm (Eastern). I'll be leading the raid on my alt, Operative Lockewood. This is our weekly supergroup event; we thought we'd mix things up and do a ship raid instead of a TF. I hope some of you can make our event!
  4. It must be more convoluted, one of my oldest characters (my first 50) logged in and got 2 temp power notices. I remember giving holiday cheer with him a couple times.

I am having this problem too. It seems that if you have Holiday Spirit (Auto) in effect from 2+ years ago AND have a Holiday Spirit (Click) from last year, this year you don't get Holiday Cheer. Obviously a refresh on Spirit isn't needed but it's a bummer we're not getting a fresh Cheer power to give out. I just logged on to one of my alts and here's what my reward text shows:

Congratulations! You earned the Enduring badge.
You can hold 5 more salvage.
You can hold 5 more recipes.
You can manage 1 more transactions.
Congratulations! You earned the Genuine badge.
Congratulations! You earned the Agent of Order badge.
Congratulations! You earned the Midnighter badge.
Congratulations! You earned the Alchemist badge.

    That's it, no temp powers.

  7. I'd prefer to put a debuff like that into the AoE. I think it's probably more useful to spread the bonus debuff out to everything you're fighting than just your current target. If you get two, then put one in your weak/fast attack.

One time I put a damage proc in snowstorm and put it on some (-20 to me) Supa Trolls to watch it proc. A minute later, they were all dead. Most impressively, 12 of them took damage at once.

Did anyone ever actually talk about secondary? I ended up going with Psychic Blast and took the leadership pool, and it's fantastic. I feel like a rogue Fortunato, buffing my team with over 20% defense, dishing out toxic and psionic damage left and right.

I just hit 41 and I can't quite figure out which epic to take, though I'm sort of leaning toward dark, though psi (and Mass Hypnosis for setting up Time Bomb) also has its appeal.
  9. There's an in-game help file system that completely documents (among other things) all of the controls and slash commands for Masterminds. You access it from the main menu as the help item. Various topics are listed across the top of the window (you may have to scroll right) and once you select the item there will be tab after tab of info.

I suspect until they fix whatever they did to the updater it might be to our benefit to back up these files.
Oh yeah. Just did that to me after I mapserved. It deleted TexWorldSW. It won't actually download it this time. I actually created a dummy copy of that file and the instant I started the game up, it was deleted. I recreated the dummy and told the updater to verify files so it checked all, then deleted that file. I'm going to get a copy of the file from a friend and save copies, then I'm going to create a bypass updater link and use that.

I deleted TexWorldV1 but didn't have TexWorldSW. After repairing V1, things were still broke. I restarted and this time the game repaired (ie downloaded for the first time) TexWorldSW. It then repaired V1 again. Things were fixed.

One of my SGmates didn't get SW downloaded at all after manually verifying, so instead I had her create a text file and name it TexWorldSW.pigg and sure enough THAT triggered the repair and she's all set.
  12. reporting in with an Nvidia 8800GT and this problem. Currently replacing the texworld pigg files....

RMT refers to when 3rd parties farm for some kind of rare item or money in a game and then sell it. Usually this is through exploitive behavior such as running bots, griefing players to claim rare spawns, and other actions that negatively impact the entire community (and put an unnatural pressure on the game economy). Selling a perk which is not essential for gameplay and grants only a PvE benefit is a very common business model in modern MMOs.

There are actually MMOs where the cash shop contains items and perks that do impact PvP and are so advantageous that everyone else is markedly disadvantaged in comparison (double xp buffs for instance). This is really nothing to object to.

I do admit to being confused about who does what over there now. How is the org-tree arranged for you, Avatea, Niviene, and EMpulse, and what are your respective responsibilities?

    Congrats, OchoManAfter!

It is true, some clarification on who does what would be helpful. For instance, should be contacted for support of a supergroup-sponsored public event?
  15. Take care and best wishes Ex Libris! I wish we could have given you a proper send-off!

New issue, new costume bugs. I fixed the ones I could between issues 12-13. One bug that has bothered everyone was VEAT female and their lovely butt cape. Well it has been added, sound the trumpets.

I don't want to sound ungrateful but I hope you didn't exclude male widows & fortunatas from the swanky waistcapes.

Although I agree with much of what you said, it's actually false. Vista did not require 2GB of RAM to run itself, the amount of RAM it uses is based on YOUR usage. You should probably look up some info on pre-fetching. A quick explanation is Vista loads a lot of the things you normally run into memory as cache. What this does is allows the software you use every day to load a lot faster (Does this actually work? Not as well as was boasted).

    [/ QUOTE ]

I've been pretty happy with 7 overall except for one thing: City performs as if it needs more memory. My zone and mission load times have been long and when I click on the market, I typically freeze up for 30 seconds and then everything resumes and the market loads fine. Basically, the game feels like it did when I only had 1 gig of memory under XP; I currently have 2 gigs. I suspect that if I had 3, there would be no issues.

What it boils down to for me is this: If I cant harness it's power when I'm about to throw my best/strongest attacks, then what good is it to me, or anyone really?

    [/ QUOTE ]

...and since if you've slotted it in Build Up, it probably will NOT be available unless its been 45 seconds since your last fight and/or you have saved up your activation of BU for this key moment. You are not taking into account the 90 second base recharge time of aim/buildup.

    [ QUOTE ]
It doesnt give you a BU animation, so you dont know if its active or not.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Hello, /togglecombatnumbers ... select 'monitor' on damage bonus. Also handy for determining if your Siphon Power is still stacked.

    [ QUOTE ]
Slotting it in a click power which you naturally use before firing your best offensive attacks virtually guarantees that when it doees fire you are getting its maximum benefit. Slotting it your way ruins any chance of that. Having my one out of 10 chance proc when Im speed boosting someone seems pretty useless.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Again, false logic. Though you have a 1/10 chance of the proc firing during the 10 second period when you are speed boosting, you have another 1/10 chance in the NEXT ten seconds and the ten after that if it's in Tactics. Your way you're rolling the die when you start your attack chain, and then only if you haven't just been in a fight for the previous 45 seconds. My way you're rolling the die when your attack begins, and 10 seconds later, and 10 seconds later. In a situation like the Imperious Task Force, you are really going to be fighting constantly unless something Stops you.
  20. This has recently been discussed in another thread... but I will summarize my key points here:

    1. If Tactics is running, then every 10 seconds in combat you have a chance to proc and receive the bonus. Let me use 30 seconds as a typical time a fight goes on. With this proc in tactics you will have 3 chances. That this effect may fire while you are not in combat is completely irrelevant as firing the proc does not involve any kind of suppression or waste of charges.

    2. In comparison, with a 90 second recharge time, powers like Buildup will be able to roll 1 chance for firing every 45 seconds after heavy slotting. In other words, in a typical 30 second fight window you will get .6 chances of it working -- not even 1 reliable roll. If the power is less than maxxed out on recharge it will be even worse. (For sake of argument, I am assuming 3 generic recharges + a proc in buildup).

    3. Thus, putting it in Tactics results in 5 times the number of chances of it firing in a fight than Build Up.

    4. However, Followup can be reduced to less than 10 seconds of recharge and is typically put on Auto. Thus, it is as good or better than Tactics, depending on your exact slotting. I would argue, however, that if you have strong ranged attacks it would be preferable to put it in Tactics because you might at times not be able to reach another foe to melee with but could blast them at range; it really depends on your exact build for that but I am thinking of my own hybrid Fortunata who starts fights at melee range and usually ends up blasting runners or second spawns with ranged attacks.

    Snow_Globe,

We realize that Positron set an expectation, however this was done without consultation of our publishing schedule. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause you.

Unfortunately this is the only date before next year we can grant this gift.

I think you should wait until the new year then, because seriously, it's too soon. If we can't take Positron's word as "law" then what can we?
  22. Hopefully people remember this now that we have a base portal in Pocket D. It's a shortcut back to the RWZ but it's still going through a not co-op zone.

Unless you pay zero rent now, the reduction in rent is drastic...and no longer based on plot size.

    [/ QUOTE ]

If it's free now, is it free in i13?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not if you have storage (and possibly certain other types of) items, but in no case should rent costs ever be prohibitive to any group.

    [/ QUOTE ]

That could be a problem to a low-activity supergroup. My friends make a lot of themed groups, they'll form a team and a SG, make a base, play for a month, then only get on those characters once in a while. The 0 rent option was great for them.

Imagine logging onto a character and finding that rent is overdue, power is off but the base isn't locked; and it hasn't been 45 days since the leader was last on. You now owe a tiny amount of rent, but can't pay it. You might even find this out after using a base porter to bail from some really annoying zone like Perez or a PVP zone.
