White space after 3/17/2010 patch

After today's patch, parts of the ground, signs, walls and other objects are showing up on my screen as white shapes. As of this AM (I logged off a minute before the maintenance) this wasn't the case. I have an Nvidia 9500 GT and a Core i5.

VICTORY HEROES: Stonefall (Grav/Kin/Psy), Earthwave (Earth/Rad/Fire), Nae'bliss (Invul/Fire), Paradox Black Omega (Kat/Reg/Weap)

I had the exact same issue in Sharkhead when I logged on as well. Running some sort of low-end ATI, I think my processor is a Turion of some kind.

I have the same issue and I'm running an ATI Radeon HD 3870

I am not seeing that. (I made sure to also check while in a Warehouse map).

Try Verifying Files. I think a couple of the texture files were part of the update. It seems yours might be corrupted.

On a side note, I'm using NVidia 9600GT. I only mention it because a couple previous posters with the issue are using ATI. Either that, or the low quality versions of the textures might be a problem. I'm using High Quality Shaders on mine.

Well, I had one friend not have a problem, one friend who had the problem, re-opened the updater and it auto fixed it. I had the problem, opened the updater again, had to click verify all files, and still have white boxes where lights are and the street near the arena in PO is completely white.

Although it's playable, it's still a bit screwy for me. I also tried /unloadgfx and failed. Not sure what to try...

I started the game again, to try file verification. Its downloading another update and fixing files. One of them is piggs/texWorldV1.pigg, so I'm going to assume that its world textures. I'll post again once the update's done and I've logged in to check the results.

You're is very likely to be fixed. I find myself in a difficult spot as it isn't auto updating.

That second update corrected the issue for me. Like a previous poster, I'd suggest that anyone having this problem verify their files if the auto-updater doesn't do it by itself.

OMG! I couldn't believe what I was seeing when I logged in after the patch! I verified files, even deleteted the checksum and tried in Safe Mode, but still have the white patches. The textures seem to be missing! ( I have an Nvvidia card also, and NEVER experienced tnis in almost 6 years of play.

My beautiful game!!! I hope this issue is fixed..and it is apparent that I am not the only one this is happening to. I have a feeling this is setting things up for Ultra Mode, but from my understanding, Ultra Mode is an option for those with high end cards...we should still be able to play without all the extra shinies as always. Please devs, help us out here!

Healix, try purposely deleting texWorldV1.pigg (the file a previous poster mentioned got re-updated for them) and run the updater again.

The textures have to be available somewhere because I am seeing them just fine. You just need to fix your file. Hopefully that one will do it for you.

I'm having the same white background problem some of the others have. Been using this same card for the last 69mnths and have never seen this before, thought my Vid card had finally given up on the abuse. Reassured somewhat that others are having this issue. I have tried veryfying files, but found it hadn't worked.

Going to try deleting that pigg file and seeing if that helps.

Vishalicious, you were right..YAYYYYYYYY! I Re-verified files again and logged on for a third time. I saw the blue bar and this message,


It took about 15 minutes to finish but my gorgeous, detaled game is back!
(I am used to seeing this kind of thing)


I an so spoiled by how great this game looks..I sort of panicked when all the 'whiteouts' appeared. So glad all is well and back to great! Thanks to all of you who helped me!

Atlas Park is an ocean of white for me. I also have a nvidia card. I'm not sure which one specifically. I verified files and that didn't do any good. I don't see this file texWorldV1.pigg in the pigg folder. There is a texVworld1, but if thats not the broken one then I don't want to delete it.

I got the same thing. It looks like it snowed all over the game. Gonna try deleting that file.

Yes... it's fixed. It looks like it replaced/fixed several files, not just the one I deleted.

Ok after submitting a petition and posting here, I tried again and it is now fixing some pigg files. Ok it's done, I'm logged in and all is right in the world again :-)

I renamed texWorldV1.pigg, rather than deleting it entirely (I'm paranoid about that sort of thing), and after the game replaced the file, everything looks normal again. Well, as normal-looking as Paragon City and the Rogue Isles get...

Curiously, I did not have a texWorldSW.pigg file before, but I do now.

hmm im kind of worried this was some form of preparation update for i17s ultra mode and this will appear on a lot more people when it goes live.... I hope not but at this stage it wouldnt surprise me.

none of the solutions mentioned above works for me. I don't even have the files mentioned in the pigg folder :-(

I'll add to the folks that logged in to a sea of white. I'm running a ATI 5850. I restarted, reloaded, and forced verify with no success. After restarting my computer and trying again, the texWorldSW.pigg file is being repaired.

I'm guessing this will fix my problem (still patching), but wanted to report my video card type here so the Devs can piece this one together.

Edit: Yep, that fixed it.

I have no whitespace, but I do have terrible rubberbanding, animation lag, powers activating before their animations show, sometimes no animation but damage numbers floating. it's really anoying lol.
