    SS/Fire/Mu Brute

Built the SS/Fire/Mu brute and it is a truckload of damage. Minor End issues, but nothing terrible. Cardiac should make it a non-issue.

The Elec/Shield is more durable, to be sure, but the SS/Fire/Mu does melt mobs and especially bosses faster. He's only 47 and will only get more AoE-licious as Ball Lightning is finished and Hasten becomes perma.

Ultra-watt, I used your build as a jumping point and it is very effective. Thanks!

Indeed, I my aura fires off every 2-3 seconds or so, healing 22%.

    SS/Fire/Mu Brute

Does Burn still send em running?
  4. I plan on making a SS/Fire/Mu Brute just to test it out and, well, because it seems designed for goodness.

That said, the LR recharge on my Elec/SD scrapper is up on or around every 30 seconds. Now, I'm not looking to compare it to the output of Xxx/Xxx/Xxx AT in farming, but that's not a terrible recharge time, expecially since it coincides with Build Up and Shield Charge.

I roll into a mob, get their attention for a second, Build Up, SC, LR, then whack the bosses until the trio is charged again. Move to the next mob and take out the minions and LTs again.

Eventually, I take out bosses, if I need to, but 30 seconds a mob isn't ultra slow.
  5. Only made one dominator, a Fire/Thorn. I think it was the fastest 50 levels I've experienced, although the Crab may have rivaled him.

I think what I liked most is the Toxic damage.

On ITFs, he's brutal with the AoEs. Chews mobs up almost as well as my elec/shield scrapper.
  6. Fella in my SG does a lot of "concept builds" to add flavor and test things.

His most recent is a speedster, like Flash.

Now, it's not for power-gamers. Don't expect the concepts to become uber. However, his character has maxed speed, Flurry, and other speed-based attacks over more utilitarian attacks. Again, its to break up the duldrums, not make a toon you will IO and enshrine.

So, speedster, Temp Weapon Guy, No Attack just Buff or Debuff builds, etc.
  7. Yeah, I have a Fire/EM blaster. If you're sweating KB, you can rest easy. Except for the first attack in EM, I think the rest do Disorient, not KB.

I like Fire/EM over Fire/Fire because I tend to play "up in the face." So, when things get a little too real, I have a bunch of punches ready to fire off. Power Thrust, Boxing, Bone Smasher and Total Focus slotted for damage or disorient.

Plus, Hasten+Aim+Buildup....you can fire off well over 2,000 HPs of damage in 10 seconds.

Not trying to be difficult, but you really learn best by trying things out, posting, and having others give pointers. After a few months tinkering with different builds, you look back at older builds with curiousity. I remember being proud as heck at my Ill Rad. Now, I look at his enhancements and think, "Wow, it might have perma PA, but there's a lot of lost potential here."

If you post for a Fire/EM in the blaster forum, I can help. I'm very satisfied with my blaster (and, yes, softcapped).

Ran with a team from this SG recently on my Bane, Praetorian Templar.

Stacking buffs, Crabs mowing down mobs, a couple banes sweeping in at the end to wipe up what was left of +4 bosses with a few stealth strikes.

I didn't know it was a SG full of SoAs. I thought the guys just decided to make a team of them for the night.

If you guys roll them out frequently, well, sign Praetorian Templar up.
  10. I plan on moving my Ill Rad to Villain and getting Mace Mastery. Scorpion Shield, PFF and a Toxic Taratula pet.

Another perma-pet to attack and 45% S/L. Have the build worked out, just moving through the alignments now.

Rain of Fire is also other-worldy.
  12. Any Defender, Controller, Corruptor or Dominator.

I build for self-sufficiency (thought I rarely solo). So, whenever one of those toons are on the team, my characters become even more fun/powerful.

    Holds, debuffs, buffs, AoE goodness......Mmmmmmm

As far as Stalkers go, I follow the age-old philosophy: The AT is secondary to how well it is played.

    Yep
  14. HOs also spiked. I bought one weeks ago and sold it (Enzyme) for 344 million last night.
  15. I agree with Tangler on the points. In particular, RoF is far more useful than Fire Breath. Wipes out minions, can be cast around corners, double scourge, etc. I had a fire blaster and never took it. After running with the Fire/Rad, I saw how indispensible it is.

That said, the build is workable. The important thing is you have fun. I build mine a bit differently, but they tend to cost more. I think AM isn't slotted ideally. I'd look into Frankenslotting it. For my build, it has a Perf Shifter End/Rech, and Eff Ad End/Rech, a Eff Ad End, and a L 50 Recharge IO.
  16. Well, actually I've changed it a bit and completed the build. I pulled the purple sets and still achived the perma-hasten (which was the reason for the fourth Hasten rech red).

The addition of Smoke was for the recharge boost and because I wanted the focus to be AoE and "in the thick of it" (thus, S/L built vs. Ranged). Admittedly, this guy can have some spectacular faceplants.

Still, with the AoEs, the Imps and the near perma Tarantula, he's holding up. With I 19, I can slot for health and stamina finally.

  18. I have no real experience with it. My corruptor selected it, but I've only recently (GR) tinkered seriously with villains. I've looked it up and it's an "ok" pet, but not a gamechanger. 25% defense, decent attacks.

EDIT: Actually, since I'm running leadership, I wonder what the value of slotting the 5% defense in the spider would be. Brings the total defense to a shade over 34% (25% natural, 4.135% Maneuvers, 5% IO).

  19. Well, that would bite. I really don't want to take Tough just to slot it. I will have to tinker with my build because I like having that status resistance.
  20. Does anyone know the duraction of the Aegis: Psionic/Status Resistance in a click power, like Kuji-in Sha?
  21. For general play on teams. Farming, I suppose, but more for helping a team roll. No AV/GM soloing.

Critique....other than how to spell, "Thorn." Gah.

  22. I just tweaked a build (I used Ice before) and worked in Mace Mastery. Still able to get the perma stuff with 44.8% S/L defense and the poison ray for added defense debuff. Another interesting twist is the near perma spider pet to go with Phantasm and PA.
  23. Haven't fought in that zone.

Any chance you can funnel him down a tight alley? Bottleneck his spawn?

    Cool! Thanks.

Edit: Actually, it probably gets more complicated with Scourge. I hadn't thought of that.
