That power the CoT blade princes have that summons a bunch of floating ice swords.

Fire has the best damage per endurance, so once you learn to anticipate the secondary DoT, it's quite effective.

Quote:Either this, or they'd use real-time line of sight (almost ray tracing, I guess) calculations... which would likely be slower.heh. Pum's picture is priceless... buuut...
here's the development reality. Programming Wall Running, Web Slinging, Grappling Hooks, or Zip Lines into the game would require adding connection points along non-horizontal geometry. Yeah, it could be done, but the entire underlying game world would have to be rebuilt. The process would also require additional processing power and memory storage beyond simple polygon builds. That would drastically change the underlying engines performance envelope, which at HeroCon, the devs are trying to keep. -
I wonder if Tyrant didn't quite win the battle of wills.
Think about it. -
The screenshot is nice, but the bio really got my attention.

It's... all right. It feels like forever getting to 38, and after that it's not too bad, really. It can make any primary feel more sturdy. I've been interested in seeing what a Shield/Ice tank could do.

Hm, that's not what I meant at all. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Portmanteau
And yeah, talking with somebody is a great way to come up with names. Like the duo Helter Smelter and The Oresman. -
Puns, portmanteau, and tounge-in-cheek names are all fairly easy to get, but a little harder to think up. For example, one of my friends created a man/fish hybrid named Manchovy. *shudder*

Wait... CoH is a boxed expansion?
I don't know, only time will tell. -
The reason you usually don't see vertical or horizontal lines converging to infinity is because of how perspective is calculated. The size of an object being displayed in a game is (usually, there are always exceptions) inversely proportional to its distance from a viewer. Since a horizontal object has little change in distance when you're far away from it to begin with, you might not be able to tell. You'd need to be at the base of something really big and look up to get appreciable results.

Yeah, I learned something all right.

I've always wanted a corpse-based endurance increase, similar to dull pain.

I liken defense to a more "chunky" form of damage mitigation. It may provide more protection (for scrappers) at its best, but at the very least you're at the mercy of the random number generator.
Now, resistance is far more consistent. It resists resistance debuffs by default (as well as damage debuffs if I remember correctly). Excluding critical hits, it's pretty easy to guess how long you can survive in a given situation. That's pretty useful. -
My best method for dealing with it is just to make judicious use of impale for it's immobilize (or to outright kill a runner), and ripper for it's knockdown. I often see enemies running away when they're at low health, so you may want to concentrate on downing single targets quickly while your AoEs soften up everything else.
It's kind of hard getting used to not having taunt in every attack, as a brute player. -
eh... I'd guess something like half of the powers would be recycled. There's enough preexisting powers for that, right?
-
Frozen aura comes at level 38. I've been leveling a WP/IM tank, and that felt like an eternity.
-
Good point. There's a lot of costume parts that are shiny, but not completely reflective-looking. Would they get the ultra graphics treatment? I guess we'll find out.
-
DP/Kin corrupter, possibly going good. I've already got a good (stupid) name.
-
Have you ever wondered what it would be like to run (and have the endurance to run) every damage/taunt toggle in the game? Me neither.
I'd go with cheesesteakjimmys so I didn't run out of food.
Or maybe the "I win" button. -
The same level of tweaking that was done with Repulsion bomb, perhaps? That doesn't seem too far out there.
-
Well done!
I carved a ****** pumpkin a year or two ago, but we don't need pictures of that. -
I've been eyeing an ice/elec build myself. How necessary is it to soft-cap an ice/ tank?
