Nerf female intuition!
I totally get the OP and can agree with it, but I also don't think this is purely a case of YES and NO/ON and OFF.
We have elements in this game that cater to both/all sides (minus the Incarnate System, I suppose! ...For now...).
Some of us are going to feel like the scales tip one way or the other a bit too much for their liking. Just a matter of personal preferences.
I doubt anyone in favor of some greater solo options - new, specific content for your level 50 to do, that could be done all on their own, that makes them feel like a high-powered level of super hero - is against even greater threats that require teams and/or multiple teams.
I think the opinion is that they'd like a little less of the special content to be team-based and a few soloist options, just like most comicbook arcs are about that powerful character doing it alone.
I, honestly, enjoy myself a ton on my level 50s, playing solo. I'm weird... I enjoy running radio missions, tip missions and street sweeping just for the fun of it!
So long as I can do that, I'm having a blast.
I also like teaming and all that too, but the core of my play is hopping on for 30-60 minutes and doing a bit of that, towards the end of my day.
FUN!
And my character feels pretty powerful.
What's my point?
I currently have a beard and am not putting it on the line for any bets... Although, I may be shaving it any day now (Have to do some public appearances that I think may work better without it...).
Ummm... Where am I? What was this thread about? -

Awwwww, haha!
What a great head of hair!
Congratulations and welcome to the forums, Zoey!!
Hiya, EMPulse! We miss you too! -

In recognition of your strange holiday, I shall celebrate by watching the 2003 Willard!
And, perhaps, follow it with his performance in the animated Beowulf!
I've always enjoyed, as you say, Saint Crispin!
Glad to hear that he is widely recognized for his greatness! -
Those are some great pieces and I'd seen some of those before!
Hehe, Graver's take on AD is hilarious (in a great way). All of those are fantastic though.
Pretty sure all forum interactions I had with him were completely cool and, after hearing things, it sounds like someone I really could have gotten along with well.
All my best to his SG and other mates who are left dealing with him being taken away.
And good job sharing these pics, TA.
Hey, what are Acoustic Delusion's powers? -
Zwill,
Seeing how everyone is confused (including you all!), I think that you need to have Sexy Jay write up a detailed description on everything that goes into the workings of the reward systems and the dates that they are awarded and what we can expect from this system in the future.
Sound good? -
Quote:Oh, that's awesome! I was wondering if it was staged or randomly spotted!I know, right?
I took that the other night. I saw them walking toward the intersection and I was like, no, really? I couldn't have forgiven myself for not screencapping that one
Haha, very nice! -

Yes indeed. And there was a bit of discussion with someone from the art team... I think it was Noble Savage... Where the Rocket Board was brought up as a possibility for including some surfing for a Summer Event (I think it was a player-made suggestion, so don't read too much into it, but I think there was a bit of back and forth... It was just a fun conversation and nothing should be counted on, but at least it wasn't met with a smackdown nor turn away and run by a red name, hehe!).
I like the idea of Lusca (or something else/new) attacking an instanced beach area... Maybe some SHARKS that can attack and be attacked?
Hehe... Maybe a Surf race course of some sort.
Hawaiian Shirts and Bermuda Shorts for costume rewards...
What else?
EDIT: Rescue bathers in the shallow water while they're surrounded by sharks during the first wave... Then maybe some evil shark controlling enemies show up (they were the cause of the attacking shark army!)... then the krakken, Lusca or whatever... Then Sally comes along and helps you take out the GM!
Okay, maybe not! -
Sidenote: Haha, I love the image in your signature, Triplash!

Oh man, I remember Muab and only knew him on the forums.
My condolences to everyone closer to him.
I hope his family and friends can get whatever closure that is possible.
That is really rough. -
Yeah, what Winterminal said.
While I, personally, hit clear every time and prefer to work from a clean slate... I decided not to let it bother me at all... mainly by deciding to enjoy seeing what the random feature throws up when I enter.
I think that this is one of those features that some people like one way and other people like the opposite way.
Since I can hit clear and have it my way, I have no problem with it.
This allows them to show some things off and might inspire some people entering into it with what they find.
Hehe, I just have so many other things to frustrate me (outside of the game) that I make sure to not let everything I don't like add to it all, hehe(I say that with levity and with a tiny amount of hope that I may help anyone else maybe let go a little!).

Agreed!
Although, I can't say I felt this area was lacking beforehand (not that you're saying it was), things have indeed continued to improve with costumes!
Just the amount of variety, alone (also providing more and more combinations) continues to make this aspect better and better!
I have to say though, that just the past few times I was in-game, I noticed more costumes that made me take a second, longer interested look!
Coincidence or not... I support this positive post!
I don't know if it is just me, but I've found myself picking up my old character-watching hobby (especially around the tailor) that I can't recall having done much of over the past year or so. -
Probably mostly rust!
Also, sometimes you just get caught. It's possible you could have run back in and taken him solo the next time. When you can't rely on pure defense or resist, sometimes you get knocked around... sometimes you don't!
Don't lose heart! It shouldn't be that bad! Just a bad experience! -
The proposed idea is that they are going to be selling more things in order to bring more revemue in, which they will turn around and use for more resource and development time which will result in more and better stuff for the game overall ("free" and purchasable).
Whether or not any of this will really play out as such is not entirely seen yet... As, I believe they've been stock-piling things for some time now in preparation for this.
And there is nothing wrong with that... You spend a bunch of money/time/resources on making stuff for the new business model in hopes that it goes well (brings in money) and then you turn around with that income and continue it (possibly to a greater degree, if things go well enough).
As I understand it, that is the plan.
Whether or not the increased profits will funnel into the "free" for VIP parts of the game, we will see.
Still, the monthly points have added to what was already a normal, if not bigger, published issue that was "free".
They wouldn't have offered us all of the new stuff that they have... if they weren't going to be making more money from it.
They didn't used to offer us free costume packs every couple of weeks and, until they find a magical hat of instant video game creation, they're going to charge money for their work. -
Quote:"Glabal"??Actually...I did run into some toxicity today...but it was countered by everyone in Glabal and a team of 24....
What in Ursala Andress's under garments is GLABAL"??
If you can't bother to communicate properly... GET OFF OUR FORUMS, NOOB!!!
2010 register date... Pfffff.. Figures!! Don't they make people that can spell anymore???
Aren't you that League Kicker guy I heard about??
...
(I hope you realize I am entirely kidding!!)
Haha, and that tale is ridiculous, but I'm glad others came to bat for you.
I have pity for jerks... Even though they tend to wear that out pretty quickly, hehe.
Anyway, you are entirely correct. The negative always stands out. It is so unfortunate.
Just take a look at how that works on the forums.
The more outrageous and negative of an OP, the more replies it gets.
Replies within each thread tend to follow suit.
It is a shame that more people don't make sure to reply to the good posts and replies and opt to not respond to the obviously negative tirades and such.
Hey, we all slip up now and then (sometimes just because we feel especially strong about something... stupid chemically-induced fleshy monsters in our skulls!)...
However, even when someone posts a hot-headed or misguided thread about something... The OP will ignore the one or two kind responses and reply to the nastier responses.
Much of that, I suppose, is a matter of self defense and all, but still... on forums, especially, the nasty wheel gets the replies!
Good day, sir... and sorry for your inability to type global... I'm sure you were tortured throughout your life about that and I callously opened up those old wounds. -

Quote:What!?!?! And that makes us insignificant? You insensitive fool!!Does anyone ever suffer fools gladly? I mean I'm sure there must be people out there who actually enjoy the suffering they experience due to fools, but they have to be an almost insignificant minority.
Ahhhh.... thanks
(Haha... Just hopping in for some humor, ar ar!) -
Quote:I dread to think what porn you have been watching..... or how it relates to a costume competition......
Thanks for the event and I'm look forward to this!
Now I just need to try and get some images out of my mind... -

Quote:Or they could deliver new rewards each year.If they made it so that there were no limited timed costumes and emotes based on holiday events then the Devs might as well run every event concurrently 365 days a year. The fundamental point of a "holiday event" is that there are supposed to be aspects of it that are limited. *shrugs*
That may sound greedy at first, but is it really? This year, they added the cool Halloween Pack.
Why not a second Halloween Pack next year... and a third, the following... and so on?
That'd really make it fun!
And I'm not even talking about just the store pack.
I think having rewards you unlock through the event is good and fine.
In fact, I'd say... run the event, let people earn them... then open them up for sale.
However, I'm not tied to that idea or anything... Just thinking and typing at the same time.
Quote:Surprisingly I can agree with the idea that real world events should not really affect in-game characters directly. This was the fundamental problem I always had with the Anniversary Badges for instance. Why are in-game characters getting anything for the anniversary of a real world game?
So if it came down to either being able to buy holiday items in the Paragon Market or not having holiday events at all I'd be willing to go without the events, or at least have events that had no unique items associated with them. They'd probably be pretty boring like that, but at least no one would be upset with the whole limited item issue. *shrugs*
I mean, we know there's a constant Halloween world from the historical documents titled "A Nightmare Before Christmas", so it'd be a great idea to maintain persistent holiday zones/events in this game.
