Any chance we can put somewhere the standard deviation of these numbers?

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not likely... I don't know how to make Excel or Google Docs do standard deviation. To be honest, it's been long enough since I took a stats class that I'm only vaguely familiar with the meaning of standard deviation.

But if Smurphy knows how to do it, or someone can explain it to me in a way that makes sense, then we can give it a try.

I just recently acquired 200 merits(I know I know, I just can't TF that much these days) on my villain, and I was going to flat out buy a LoTG: +Recharge since I've had bad luck with random recipes in the quick Katie days. Then, I saw that your numbers placed the highest value in the 35-39 TF random rolls and decided what the heck, let's go with the numbers.

Ended up rolling 10 times and getting a Miracle unique, LoTG: +Recharge, and a few other recipes that should sell for 10-30 mil a piece.

I love it when the numbers work out.

  3. The only time I've ever slotted it was in TT:Leadership, for the set bonus. I honestly couldn't tell you if it's ever gone off or not. I don't care.

  4. I updated villain side today. I didn't do hero side. I'm not sure when we'll get around to doing hero side.

I did the update close to 2x xp weekend on purpose. I wanted to see how much it had gone up (quite a bit), and find out how long it takes to go back down. I'll try to check it again in mid February and see where things stand.

Why is the LoTG: 7.5% so expensive for the random roll compared to the out right buy?

    [/ QUOTE ]

All prices are sale prices. That's saying that if you purchased a LotG for 200 merits, then put it up for auction, you could expect x amount of profit / merit.

On the other hand, if you purchased a random roll for 20 merits and were lucky enough to get a LotG for your trouble, then you could expect y amount of profit / merit (where y = roughly 10x, depending on the level of the 2 LotG's).

    [ QUOTE ]
It's telling you that it's cheaper to buy it with merits.

    [/ QUOTE ]

Not exactly. The PPM(Buy) and PPM(Roll) columns calculate how much profit could be made by purchasing an item directly vs recieving it via random roll. In the case of the LotG, it's just telling you that getting "lucky" via the random roll is 10 times more profitable than purchasing the item directly (no surprise, since the item cost is 10 times the random roll price).

I used the PPM(Roll) column to calculate the avarages at the top, and the PPM(Buy) column to double check that purchasing a specific level 50 IO was / was not more profitable than taking the random roll. Having both columns keeps the Overview honest.

In the 'Big 3' section, the PPM value is assumed to be PPM(Buy). This reflects the fact that you can purchase these recipes directly at their minimum level, where they are generally more valuable than their level 50 counterparts.

  6. Masterminds are easy to multi-box; set the toggles, put a decent click power on auto (a heal, most likely), set the pets to agressive, and have the MM's auto-follow whichever character you're actively playing. The rest mostly takes care of itself.

I'm not sure how he's managing to multi-box Crab Spiders though. That'd be way too clicky for my tastes.

  9. Paying rent on the basic plot size for my personal VG is annoying, and unnecessary. It's a small amount though, si I'll live. Everything else base related in this issue was positive, but I won't be using most of it (my base was pretty much finished, so the extra prestige does nothing for me).

  10. Smurphy's still laughing... all the way to the bank!
  11. Bear in mind, from an end user standpoint, it doesn't matter what server this is done on. You can transfer your shiny new 50 to the server of your choice for the modest fee of $9.99.

I'm tempted to have you run a SS/Fire for me. I'd like to have one at 50, but I have no interest in actually playing one until it's purpled.

I'll start the bidding at 10 million infamy.

I had 2 PM's in my box, back to back. The first was "Stalkers are useless in PvP" and the next was "Stalkers are overpowered in PvP". The grass is always greener they say...

    [/ QUOTE ]

That's just funny. Not entirely untrue though. In certain situations, Stalkers are extremely powerful. In other situations, they really are almost useless (and I'm just talking about PvP here, PvE is another subject entirely). I think those 2 PM's are reflections of the binary nature of Stalkers.

I'm not complaining, mind you, and I have no idea how you could "fix" Stalkers without breaking them. Feel free to ignore me.

    [ QUOTE ]
And yes, all of this bug fixing has pushed out I8 beyond the original "September" estimate I gave back in May.

    [/ QUOTE ]

I really appreciate this. Some people will get all DOOOOOOMMMMM on you, but don't worry about it.

Also, thank you very much (again) for this series of threads. It's always nice to know what you guys are working on.

Heh, thanks but that's not a very good answer. I want to know what I should select now, not in some future year in 2008 when they finally look at Mog.

    Guess I'll take Phase shift.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Neither is the best answer.

    [/ QUOTE ]

    Agreed.

If you want to check out MoG, try it on the Test server. Then you wan't have to waste a respec on live servers to drop it (like I did) if you decide you hate it.

If you want Phase Shift, do a patrol in Warburg for the temp power. Wasting 3 powers & an entire pool just so you can have an ability identical to a readily available temp power is just silly.

OP: Great write up EG. Having this to link to will come in handy.

Oh, and trading MoG for FoN is probably the best idea I've heard all week.

User: I'm glad you're starting to come around.

    Ctab: Me too!

User: Well, I thnk we've made some progress. I'm going to take a break.

    Ctab: I'm pretty sure I don't have a gender.

User: I'm pretty sure you're completely insane.

    Ctab: I might not know.

User: You can trust me on this, I wouldn't lie to you about something this important.

    Ctab: Polkadance!

    User: I rest my case.

Ctab: Sorry, I got bored with the topic.

User: I think it's time for your medication.

Ctab: Oh. Well. This is awkward.

User: You forgot to take your pills again, didn't you?

    Ctab: Oh. My mistake.
