  2. Color Customization (though I don't really have a favorite as such with 125 characters so far). Many powers can look like different forms of energy with the right colors. For that matter, the new Dark powersets have a liquid quality to them that I've got one character who's dark powers are actually manipulating blood.

Getting a new costume set as part of a new issue for free would be cool, even if those parts were vip only.
Yeah, no free costume pieces since Freedom...

    ...except for Defense

    ...and Olympian Guard

...So only two free costume sets out of three issues! I guess those are the "rare exceptions" since we got, oh I don't know, how many free costumes in the three issues before Freedom? Dozens? A few? One?
  4. Chris Jenkins will be using some of that Tsoo footage for his next commercial.
  5. Freakshow was among the groups named in the video so they're probably not the same as Killing Crew. Revelation might have become the Lost.

He's always level 1. The game doesn't have the resources to run him at level 2.
  7. Actually States just faked his death so he could start his life-long dream of becoming a Chippendale's dancer.

Not too bad, if that is the case.

    Thanks!

I just checked it out on live and basically on one of my characters I monitor about a dozen things. I was left with the big window and only 2 of my attributes still showed. After a minute or two the combat monitor window shrunk down to a 2 attribute size and I could re-add everything without problems.

We'll have to see what happens when I log in next though.

Redside needs to have some content tossed its way, more strike forces, more maps, maybe if the gap between the sides is filled in a little it would help the population redside. How much time and resources went to Praetoria? Can Villains get a little of that attention as well? And by all means send some heroes way too, like I said, give villains some new maps, and revamp heroes maps at the same time.
You could say that about every single niche activity in the game, and, unfortunately, redside is just a niche activity. I don't believe new content will change that because most people didn't give up on redside, they either never played it or never got much past the first zone. The devs killed redside when they made the decision to create an evil, corrupt, villain-run island chain as the setting. Not much fun, or point, playing a villain when most of your schemes are against other bad guys.

    Disparity much?
This is why the heroes won't get a win. Crises means co-op content. Giving the heroes a win means either coming up with an equivalent villain-side change. Since there's not enough redside players to justify a great deal of redside content, it's easier to do crises and listen to the storm of "villains are being forced to be heroes" than the cries of "it's not fair blueside gets something new and we don't".
  11. Well, he did say he might come back when I22 releases, if I remember right. If not, and no one else volunteers, I'll restart the thread and keep the lists updated. I might go into AE playing slumps, but since I subscribe in 14 month chunks I'll still be around the boards.
  12. Landing Knockout Blow on an enemy that is in the middle of one of those power animations that have them jump up first...
  13. I was going to get back into this a couple weeks ago but then I realized we have a bit of a problem...

Last I heard, Bubba is no longer subscribed and can't post in this part of the forum. Someone who feels like taking the reins should start a new thread for the club because right now the playlist is frozen at the last edit Bubba made.
  14. Conga Rats, Deep. Played it with the AE Storyteam a few weeks ago and enjoyed it.
  15. Looks great so far, count me among those who can't wait to buy it!

I agree with the people saying the jetpacks are too big.

I hope those ringed gloves and boots are going to be ported to males as well since they were not on the list that being ported. I already have a male hero who's been waiting for those kind of costume pieces for years now!
  16. It's all well and good to make some missions appeal to certain playstyles. To that end I'd like to see missions we can fail, but, only if failure is due to actions and not kill speed. Then those simply become missions you play on certain ATs or with a team and avoid on others.

It is not a good idea to, as someone suggested, put timers on every story arc end mission. The game has to appeal to a wide range of players, and not everyone has the luxury of playing uninterrupted. Timed missions, if they are to have a timer that actually makes the player feel pressured, would need to have a maximum time based on AT or require a team, otherwise they would also fall into the "only play solo on certain ATs" category.
  17. Yes. I had a mixed group of Basilisk's Gaze in one of my characters last weekend and got the full set bonuses.
  18. In my opinion...

Praetoria looks great and its storylines are far superior to anything they have added to the game since GR

    but...

I hope they do absolutely nothing more with it. It is a complete disconnect from the rest of the game. I think it was a massive waste of resources to create it as another dimension and would continue to be a waste of resources to add to it.

Aside from the blow to immersion that Praetoria ultimately ends up being, we simply do not have the player population to support three separate factions. We need new content added to the "real" world far more than an expansion of what was a poorly thought out idea in the first place.
  19. I think you'd have to do at least 50 arcs (assuming each was 5 missions) to level up, assuming you ramp the difficulty up as you level. Though there's a good chance that won't be enough, either.

You'd need to let people know what kind of arcs you're looking for. Whether you want arcs that actually tell a story or just enough story to give a reason for the action. Not to mention how much of a challenge, whether EBs/AVs should be common, rare, or nonexistent.

It would be kind of cool to have an arch-nemesis character behind some of the arcs, whom you learn about over time and somewhere down the road get to finally confront.

I hope you do this, I'd love to see how it turns out, though I think finding writers is going to be the tough part.
  20. CoV and GR were paid for exclusive content, and everyone has CoV and every VIP has GR now. I'm far more upset that a paid expansion was given away free a year after it was released without even a minor boon to those who bought it (we could have at least gotten an exclusive "given the middle finger" badge) than I would be that some minor once exclusive toys can be bought in the market 6+ years later.

We all know it's your alternate account. Just look at the way both of you type the word "at"...it looks exactly the same!! Just fess up both of you, you'll feel better for it.

As usual, you're throwing out results without context. One of the beta testers hit +2, by the minimum requirements to do so. In contrast, another beta tester hit +3 AND gained T4 in nearly every incarnate slot, in 7 days through trials. That's an order of magnitude difference that simply comparing level shifts does not address.

It sounds like you are using the negative argument that best suits you, however. Just as large of group have said "no incarnate content should be available solo" as have said "no content that requires teaming is allowed to contain a reward that isn't offered in non-soloable content". Both are in the minority, as well.

While your philosophy may work well for your game, the problem is we're dealing with this game. Seven years into your game, the long-term players will be used to team-only rewards. Seven years into this game, it is the exact opposite of what this game has always been.

While there have always been some rewards locked behind team content, as well as a few rewards locked behind specific activities. The incarnate system is not one that has a reward locked behind it. It's a system with numerous rewards locked behind it. Multiple powers, buffs, pets, lesser rewards such as costumes, emotes, and, prior to the Paragon Market, requested since day 1 QoL features.

Aside from the normal group that complains about anything they don't want, your hypothetical game would not whip up a firestorm over this level of reward for certain content because the players would be used to it. They were not in this one, and because of this, while I think the devs were right to create endgame trials to appeal to a wider group of players, I also think they alienated a lot of their players without bringing out some form of solo path, especially to the flashier powers and the Astral market, at the same time.

Yes, very reasonable...IF, of course, one does not compare it to trial progress.

So I'll just keep waiting for the devs to actually make their promised solo path as this is simply "giving trialers something to do while waiting for a trial to form" content.
  24. I just finished opening my first 24 set and I got all the elemental costume pieces, about 15 or so ATOs, only 3 catalysts, and 975 Merits, plus a bunch of consumable junk that I may actually start using now that I have so much (most of my vet reward versions have laid untouched so far per my usual "I better save it until I need it" mindset that I have yet to break myself of).

I've no issue with 1 fairly easily acquirable exclusive item going in these packs. I will likely buy more from time to time. I will say, though, that if more exclusive items start going into them, I will never buy another. I still grind my teeth at all the non-incarnate rewards locked behind incarnate trials, and won't support super packs becoming one locked behind real money.

So, 1 exclusive shiny as incentive = good. More than 1 = middle finger.
  25. They should put it at the gate into Galaxy from King's Row, or maybe all the now closed Galaxy gates.
