Should be noted there is a guide to help create Perma-Doms: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showthread.php?t=120644

Quote:IE: It CAN be done. It's just a question of how much time it takes to do it.Actually it is. There is code that has your pets attack at range (we know this works cause our bots do it), There is code that has your pets attack at Melee range (and move to the target if they are too far), your talking about disabling PART of the code depending on a setting, it's doable, everything is doable, it's just a matter of someone else's timetable (ie the devs) as to if/when this gets fixed, and nothing else, when they say it's impossible what they are saying is that "we are not going to devote the time to fix it".
Remember, colouring our powers was impossible too and they listed a ton of reasons why, then CO come out and boom it happens.
Oh, and before anyone asks, Fortran, COBOL, pascal, turbo pascal, Basic, Qbasic, Visual basic, VBA, C, C++, these are the languages I have programmed in for the last 20+ years so I have an idea of what I am talking about and I've heard enough bull from Dev's and their fanboi apologists to see it for what it is. -

... Where'd he come from? -
I just say we should add two more attack commands. Attack at Melee and Attack at Range. Then everyone is happy.
I would be anyway... -
On one STF we dealt with her by having my tank on one side, the brute on the other, and everyone else to her left and at range. If myself of the brute was held the other would grab aggro, leaving the rest to pound away. Her heal, IIRC, is a cone, so having us on either side of her means she can only hit one.
-
To solo well you need a good mix of survivability and damage. Scrappers tend to be at the top of that list, then Brutes. Below them are Tankers and Masterminds, once they get going, and Soldiers of Arachnos. Below them are other ATs with a particular power set, like Traps.

This is the build I am using. The Hetacomb set isn't slotted in yet, and I still need 11 more Hero Merits to get the PvP +3% Def IO.

Recharge: Very Long.
The continuing buffs from this power will gradually lose effectiveness over time before they expire completely after 120 seconds.
Only way I know of.
Dark is a Resistance set. It does not get DDR. Defense sets (Super Reflexes, Ice Armour, Energy Aura) and Hybrid Sets (Invul, WP, SD, SA) meanwhile all have some level of DDR. -
Willpower is best described as the lovechild Inv and Regen had together.

Quote:Quickness is also skippable, but I would still highly, HIGHLY recommend it. I can't really think of anything you'd want to take over it.You can skip Elude in a PvE build once you are softcapped(def at 45%). You'll want everything else though. 4 slot any of the /sr toggles with 1 end and 3 def. 3 slot any of the passive powers with 3 def. Your click mez protect gets 2 recharge. Quickness gets a run. The fighting pool is worth looking at for Tough and Weave. You need to take Kick, or Boxing, but I never use them. For epic, I would go Body for Conserve Power and Physical Perfection. While leveling up, I would focus on looking for IO sets that help end recovery due to the 5 possible toggles and adding def until you are softcapped.
EDIT: The Medicine pool is worth looking into if you want a self heal.
Save an 'I win' power. -
I want to see more epic pools myself...
Such as an electric for Scrappers/Tanks so I don't need to go red side for Mu to make an all electric theme... -
Quote:I always find it worthwhile to pile at least the Zephyr's -KB into a squishy. For a melee with no KB protection I'd slip in 3.Force Bolt and the AV level Nemesis Staff blasts can be over mag 12, and I think there are a couple of other attacks too. It's very rare though... three KB IOs or Acrobatics plus one IO will make you immune to almost all knockback and a single IO will stop 95% of it or more.

Quote:In the end it comes down to two different power sets that excel at fighting at a fixed point. One offers better damage and can easily stealth, the other is more survivable and offers more to a team. The big advantages /Traps Corruptors have over /Devices Blaster:
- 15% defense to all from fully slotted FFG
- over mag 6 stun, hold, and immobilize protection from FFG
- -resist to boost damage output
- an incredibly powerful -regen ability that also holds and is AoE
- Seeker Drones to soak up alphas and reduce enemy damage
- stealth (and a to-hit debuff from Smoke Grenade)
- more damage
- accuracy and to-hit from Targeting Drone
I have a DP/Devices and AR/Traps. Both are good sets, if and only if, you know how they're used. -
-
Quote:I like Devices as a secondary, thank you very much.Traps is definitely superior to Devices as a Secondary, there really is no contest. But the Blaster will out-damage the Corruptor in the Primary department. If you go Blaster, pick something other than Devices, something with Build Up.
That said, for survivability, traps wins out. Damage is roughly even depending on if Scourge is ticking yet or not.
Both are good choices though. -
Quote:Does this work for another toon you happen to have, or another player's?First thing I do with fresh Praetorian alts is level pact them to a toon on primal and level the primal toon so I don't ever have to touch Praetoria again.
If the latter I doubt I'd do it. I hate the idea of mooching off another player just to get to 20. -
So far you're okay. The only outright skippable attack in KM is the Cone and it's KB.
As for PvP, I have no idea. -
Also don't forget that GC will give your allies more defense. You might benefit from it (Aside from DDR) but your teammates will love you.
-
Inv/SS Tank would keep aggro off you, I imagine. Also you can look into a Therm for better res.
But really, let him play what he's comfortable with. -
On the other hand this exploit is limited. You can only hold three Insps at that point, and you can't e-mail them. You might be able to get 1.5mill out of the gate, but that's about it.
-
Mind my DP/Dev Blaster is going to use Cloaking Device + Stealth Proc + Smoke Grenade to nab glowies without being seen.
-
Recoloured Forcefield/Energy Blast Defenders would work too.
-
Broadsword for Tanks and Brutes.
Battle Axe for Scrappers. Maybe War Mace too.
That'd make me happy. -
Quote:OR the Kin can warn ahead of time he's SBing, and who the target is so anyone who doesn't want SB can get out of range.Give them the option to disallow buffs if its such an issue, of course they always have the option of quitting and finding a team to match their playstyle - which is better for all parties rather than have them fail to keep up on a hyperspeed murderfest team who stops for nothing or careening into walls because they can't control the movement increase (This still stuns me that people complain of this).
Ta da! -
Quote:I assume you mean Arch/Kin Corr vs Kin/Arch Def?I have a Arch/Rad that I don't play and kina plan on rerolling this character should be pretty fast with decent buff and debuff potential which is why I'm considering kin which I have 0 experience with. Help me plz
Like most Corr vs. Def arguments it comes down to Solo vs Team.
The Corruptor will do more damage and is easier to solo. With Scourge you can really burn though your foe's HP.
The Defender will be more team oriented, they have higher buff and debuff values. You'll be on the low end of the damage output but you'll better protect allies and boost their damage.
It's like apples and oranges. Both are good, you need to pick the one for you.
