Dark Control sounds like Mind Control but with immob and pets.
Which sounds great to me. I'm all in even before knowing what the t9 is (a permanent pet of some sort would be nice though). -
Widow - Void made purple to look psi (may switch to Vorpal)
Plant/Earth/Fire Dom - Pyronic
DS/Pain MM - Pyronic
Necro/Dark/Soul MM - Void
Energy/Energy/Force Blaster - Ion
My DP/Time char, who is a natural speedster, will be Vorpal if I get her to 50. TW/EA will probably do Ion. -

Quote:There's literally no reason "solo content" has to be "solo only content." We have ATs who would rather not have to solo and would want to take some friends along. We even have players who just like doing that more even if they have the ability to solo. But there are people (like me) who don't like or can't handle the large raids of 16-24 people and would rather avoid it.Guess what, this game is big enough to have all playstyles represented. We can have big raids, regular team sized content, and purely solo content.
From a development standpoint, "solo only" is limiting and unnecessary. Literally the same number of solo players can run an arc whether it's solo only or teaming optional. But as soon as you want some other people to join you, you can't. Why? Because it's solo-oriented? It still can be. So what's the logic in disabling teaming in this content exactly? What do you gain by excluding people?
I don't; logically if it's supposed to be a solo path, requiring you to already be an incarnate defeats the purpose of that. -
Quote:Hmm. You sure that's just the player stance? That's only ever been player rationalisation, never an official stance. I hope that with the changes to make Stalkers more effective out of Hide, people's insistence that they're "melee Blasters" and "only ever stealthy" will be blunted some.
Quote:That's part of it. It boils down to 3 major factors. One of which you just mentioned. The other two being Titan Weapons being thematically weird for Stalkers. Stalkers are all about subtlety, Titan Weapons is the farthest thing from this. Lastly, time contributed to all of this. -

Quote:I hope this doesn't just mean "select pieces will have asymmetry already built in which is in no way customizable."FYI, asymmetry is still very much on the table. Fire and Ice will have it, and there's more to come. There are limitations about where it can go, but that certainly doesn't rule it out.
Speaking as one of those "bottom 10%" people who have been blasted by graphical changes in the past, I'd still like to see asymmetry added to the game. -
As far as people arguing numbers, a ranged damage AT would need to do something closer to 1.00 scale. It shouldn't do so much as to overshadow the point of Scrappers and Blasters, but by virtue of it having Aim type powers and not Build Up it would already do less. People saying it should do closer to 0.75 or 0.7 (which is less than a Corruptor) don't seem to realize how low that is. And really, why would you play a Corruptor-damage AT that is just a bit harder to kill than a Blaster when you could just make a Corruptor with a good support secondary? The right Corruptor secondary would already give you great survivability and you'd probably do more damage through -RES and +DMG.
Consider that Fortunatas are already range/defense and their damage scale is 1.00 without an inherent that adds damage. And they still get mez and team buffs on top of it. A range/defense AT would most likely need a decent damage scale. -
I was hoping Shadow Shard would be redone. Though I'm okay with DA as well. Maybe future incarnate stuff will get to the Shadow Shard. It's a juicy fruit ripe for use. The entire dimension is full of untapped potential and wasted opportunities. And would easily present a chance for enemies that can pose a threat to incarnates.

I'm also curious if AS is going to remain interrupable while from Hide. No issues with it keeping its cast time. Just it seems like very few people would continue to use it from Hide if you could lead off with a non-interruptable attack and then go stab someone else with AS all without having to worry about positioning, moving, DoTs, AoEs, or patches. For being a signature power of an entire AT, I think it's silly it's interruptable at all.

Quote:This has been a ridiculously long time coming. Glad to see it finally happen.-Stalker Buffed Max HP will be increased by about 400. This should allow them to fully benefit from powers like dull pain, hoarfrost, etc.
Will this be applied to Blasters as well, who share the same starting and ending HP caps? I still firmly believe all ATs should have a cap twice their starting HP so that they can fully benefit from available HP boosts from accolades, set IOs, Frostwork, and incarnate abilities. -
I don't use any of the sets you named but it's worth saying that replacing is never a good option when you can simply add an alternative. Somewhere out there, someone is using the part you're wanting to replace, and likes it how it is.

I used to have a character with bolero and cherub wings. They're gone now and it's no longer an option. Shame since that character is a valkyrie and I have to either never use the bolero, or take her wings off of that outfit.
Just the way it goes I guess. Unlikely a GM will restore it since it was "grandfathered" with the risk of it being broken at any time without notice. -
Probably time-gated reward solo arcs with random rewards with virtually no chance of rare and/or very rare salvage. Though anything that would give me access to threads would be a major step, since right now all I can get is 10 threads a week from SSA plus 40 a week from WST. Occasionally an extra 10 from talking someone into Apex or Tin.
Something where solo players could earn Emps and Astrals would be ideal, but not holding my breath. -
Thugs/Traps with Lore pets is the obvious answer. Make sure everyone is using Gang War and german shepherd pets. And Shivans and HVAS and backup radio for AVs.
Some friends and I actually did all-MM ITF and LRSF. We weren't all Thug/Traps (which is good because we needed a few rezzes in LRSF) but it was still very laggy and reasonably smooth. That was before incarnate stuff too. -
I've pushed a level 50 fire/kin onto another server. I won't be playing her anymore (I don't like FotM chars and I never really cared for Controllers). Other than that I also deleted a level 50 Brute who was just taking up space because I had a better version of her as a Scrapper I liked more. I've deleted a few 40+ chars besides, and more 30+ chars. Just recently rerolled a 34 Scrapper as StJ.
I have enough space now I wouldn't need to delete anything anytime soon, but I have a couple 40+ Brutes I could easily part with. One's a 50 SS/WP I never play because I don't like Rage.
Thunderdome for alts! -
You pretty much can't. I've crashed out of a trial during the last fight and sent in a ticket. My response was "Run the trial again."

I guess. On the Rikti pets it lasts 1m with a 4m recharge and the "strong" damage buff is +10%. It also has a target cap of 16.

Quote:Mmh, I don't know about that. Games like Modern Warfare have had people shooting and stabbing trained attack dogs for a while and they're still doing fine. The first time somebody blows up a dog, or a dog-like creature, with Detonator, I fully anticipate Paragon Studios will get exactly the kind of publicity they don't want - from PETA. Not because it's a "real" anything (duh...) but because things that make harming animals into entertainment don't go over well with a lot of folks.
-
Quote:It's a hyperbole to point out how they should forego whatever sort of "realism" angle they're going for and stick to "fun." Having to unlock the pistol twice is not fun for anyone. The one flaw in your realism idea, is that the game is not setup, even story wise, for 1 person on the server.
It's story and history is setup for a team of 8 (untill the trials) when it comes to any sort of story.
Yes, some of the basic story arcs mention other heroes, and yes the game assumes there are more than the 8 heroes, but the over all story is setup for a group of 8.
What? You think everyone discovered Hero One became a Rikti? For the TF stories to work at all, it means 8 heroes did it.
So one gun drop per server doesn't fit the realism angle, as that goes counter to how the story is setup. -
For Masterminds? Why? Pets don't benefit from recharge and they don't really need the recov. A much better pet for MMs would be one that does a bunch of damage or debuffs a lot. I'd much rather have Warworks or Rularuu on an MM (in fact my two MMs have Rularuu).
-
I'll say it, since people aren't angry enough about it yet.
There's absolutely no reason this needs to be a one-hand only piece that requires you to unlock it twice. The recipe or the emp purchase needs to give it for both hands.
I only have two DP toons, one which I don't play, and on the other I'd rather stick to classical guns. I have no intention of getting this gun. But I still don't like the precedent it sets. It's not a good idea and it doesn't need to happen.
Look, I know sometimes games try to put emphasis on realism. But if you really want this to be realistic, the gun should be non-colorable (which clearly it is by the picture). It needs to drop 100% to one person. And then after that, Maelstrom doesn't have a gun anymore. So there's only one gun on the entire server.
...
Yeah, that's a terrible idea. Yeah, realism is kind of stupid in video games. Realism sometimes needs to take a back seat to "having fun." In this case, there's nothing "fun" about having to acquire the unlock twice. There's no reason for it other than an arbitrary "it's more realistic" which still doesn't make any sense. So please throw away this idea, and just have the acquisition of the gun apply to both hands. Because all locking it to one hand is going to do is make tons of complaints over something that doesn't need to exist in the first place. It'll drive up the recipe prices and double the emp unlock cost. For no reason.
Recipes don't have to make perfect sense. I can already "craft" working wings to apply to my character. Just pretend I made my own extra gun after having the original in my hand. Pretend he drops two at a time because he obviously has a few dozen of them if he drops them all the time and still comes back with more. Don't lock this to one hand per recipe/purchase. You're just asking for trouble. -
Quote:Sorry, wasn't paying attention when I wrote that. Was still thinking of enhancement slots. Which are $20 each.Just to be very clear on the pricing:
Costume Slot #6 = 800 PP or $10
Costume Slot #7 = 800 PP or $10
Costume Slot #8 = 800 PP or $10
Costume Slot #9 = 800 PP or $10
Costume Slot #10 = 800 PP or $10
$50 total.
Costume slots are too expensive as well, or I would have those by now.
