I would say considering how much has been added in the last 2 + years that clearly was done so to go head to head with its younger sibling made by they who shall not be named, that personal housing is very likely to happen.
It is in fact one of the few pay for features on that OTHER game that does what its meant to and isnt costing ridiculous amounts of cash for. The concept is simple and sound. An apartment building in each zone, similar to the AE buildings in that you can look out windows etc.
Each building has a certain pre fabricated lay out, with a series of adjustable options that allow for each player to have a decent semi custom personal space. It could include one free salvage bin as part of the cost to make it useful to non RPers as well, and allow it to be expanded for additional RL costs.
The player then picks a door number to be his, its not JUST his, simply a means of directing other players there, you focurse could only enter another perons home if you where teamed. Hence you wouldnt need any kind of list to pop up when you clicked a door, you just wouldnt have anything happen if you where not on a team.
Many things could be then done over time to develop this basic idea which I have little doubt would bring in ALOT more funds to the game. Id probably by one of each type eventually. -
Quote:Actually I favor a nice light moscato. Risata does a lovely one int a quite eye pleasing cobalt blue bottle. I use endangered animal parts for a variety of decor in my home, especially eagle and owl related items like wings, and claws. I am actually more one for hanging out at gentlemens clubs enjoying the attention of young ladies who endlessly break my heart. I do tend to feel like I am the last Batfan in a world of superfans somedays not sure what that says to be honest.I love you, so hard, so very very hard for this excellent post.
Good sir, you deserve a pat on the back, and a firm handshake. Why you deserve the finest champagne or is that bubbly? You deserve caviar, exotic - rare - delicacies, and nearly extinct fur. I dare say you deserve to bumbler with the highest societies in life including the President of the United States and the Prime Ministers from across the globe, even the Pope would ''get down to funky town'' disco party with you! I bet even the celebrities would fly from every place on the globe to get YOUR signature, and no one in the Ivy League has ever reached your dominating stature.
You sir, must driiiiiiiive a Mercedes.
Good day, and fine Afternoon.
Oh and I drive a 67 impala, sorry its just a 2 door, not quite the same as Deans baby on Supernatural
And if you do enjoy odd old school banter, look up bentley Berkeley of virtue, its usually him I am channeling when I go all tea sipping gentleman in the RP.
But I must be honest. I do have an agenda. I am pretty anti Altaholic. I much prefer having a small stable of Mains that I use, and typically my new toons since are just them with different variations on power sets. Like well, most of my unarmed guys are getting new variants using Street justice. But still theya re most just fun casual solo play things.
I tend to encourage fellow players in game to find that one AT that one power combo that really just fits for you and embrace it and a character to go with it. Its rarely the power sets and far more often growing weary from socializing that ever drives me from COX as one can only hear so many back stories from the same player before you start to relize all thier supposedly different concepts are still just the same one with something of a god mode aspect needing just about every AT out there to flesh out thier supposed powers. -
Quote:Thank you for all the personal attacks, shows how hurt you must have been when kicked from that ITF. Maybe if you had some friends who liked you enough to help you out?"Riff raff?"
What we don't need in the game are elitist jackholes, thanks. Much like you're being here. The "Inferior type of personality?" Frankly, that's what you're showing here.
Not only did I not bother reading the rest of your tripe, but after seeing this kind of elitist BS, I don't think anything you have to say about *anything* is worthwhile.
Oh, and do note this isn't about the *ability* to finish the arc. There's nowhere that I said I couldn't. It's about having an artificial barrier in place that doesn't need to be there. But thanks for proving you earn the first three letters of assume.
Since you seem intent on attacking my character rather then discuss logical views. See inspite of the IC tone of my first post, it was still a general statement and not directed at you nor anyone else specifically but again, perhaps your feeling to sensitive still and taking things personally?
Let me tell you a little trick, be likable and people will like to help you out.
FOr example when the ITF was WST this last month, a friend of mine had just gotten a character of his to 35, he is abit of an altaholic poor guy, so he ofcourse needed to unlock the club still.
I had learned this after sending him a tell mentioning I was going to start up a ITF to knock it out for the week on my beloved blaster Bentley Berkeley of Virtue. THe poor guy goes, ah man Id love to get that done on this guy, but I need to get access to the club.
See he did even think to ask another to knock out what is to most just a quick arc though not always one free of challenge.
I go hey bud, helping young heroes earn the trust of the midnighters is what Ol **** is all about.
So I hop on back to present day, and we knock out the arc in like 15 minutes. All the while my friend who hasnt gotten to run alot with Ol **** in his element, is tickeled to death by the RPing of my character. He isnt a big RPer himself though a big fan of the games lore, and by the end was really feeling like he was experiancing an arc made just for him. That is what I use my RP to do to help enricheour game for others. RP like that loses alot of its impact if the game world stops having RP requirements.
Whether you like it or not, can you really argue the logic behind needing to earn the trust of one of the most secretive orders within paragon? Sure we older players know it all, new players dont, and need to have the same chance to experiance that as we did. You may call it boring now, but was it that first time? how about that first time with each different AT? Or the real challenge involved in trying to protect LJ? I would have 0 ish with them making a 80 point unlock per character option on the store for those in a hurry. Play to play or pay to avoid play thats my view plain and simple. -
Quote:except your wrong, mog activates very fast, if u click it actively right after u hit rez you will unless you suffer evena fractional lag spike as does happen if your in a thick battle on a slower comp or have your graphics cranked to high. tip for regen dummy down your graphic settings even on a high end comp it does wonders to increase power responsivness a regen especially needs. That's a great theory, but it doesn't work like that.
Most rez powers either stop the enemies from attacking you (Massive knockback or stun in fire and dark rezzes, respectively), or apply a short-term "Untouchable" effect. Neither Revive nor Resurgence do either of these. I'm uncertain if this is a bug or intended function. Furthermore, the buff Resurgence applies DOESN'T apply until the animation finishes. And you can't activate any powers while the animations are playing either.
This means that you rez, and whatever killed you smacks you back down before you're even allowed to try to MoG or anything else like that.
My BS/Regen has on numerous occasions self rezzed and mog'd in extremely thick groups of various types. Ive done it when exemped and running things like TFs, I have a fond memory of taking on a room including 8 PPs in a manticore tf, I died once...ONCE and then I killed them all.
it doesnt work for WP because WP doesnt have an equiv of MoG. which in its revamped version isnt an end mode god tank power, its a short duration very quick to activate and recharges often much as build up but in the defensive line.
I dont speak theory when it comes to regen I preach the TRUTH. I have tuaght others to be so effective with regen they swear off it due to how boring the game becomes. I have taken players who called regen gimp and turned them into one man AV killers where once they wouldnt charge one without a team.
Regen is still mighty, its the faith in it that is all that is lacking. -

Quote:QFTDon't know if you're currently keeping tabs... unless you've lumped every rational response people have had that disagrees with you as a "snarky rebuttal" but from the tally here, I'd suggest you amend your initial post
(see italics) You continue to act as a spokesperson for a group that you do not represent. More of us have shown that we already did know, understand, and accept the rationale for these powers as they are. We even shared that information in prior posts. We did not need someone to waste the devs' time making demands purporting to be on our behalf. Please do not pretend to speak for anyone other than yourself...
...especially when you choose to insult and provoke:
listen to this man, he is chasing Arcanum after all. That is a serious trip. I chased Arcanum for a few years myself back in the late 90s, damn engrossing steampunk/magic rpg. I still think about it sometimes actually. Hard habit to kick. -
Well for starters I much like how walk detoggles everything. it lets me keep a power on auto and when I want to go RP mode at the D hitting walk lets me not worry over it.
2nd thing, the devs explained a LONG time ago about the length and difficulty of adding new animations, they also mentioned the ones they gave us for power customization and alternate attack animations will likely be the last. New sets will likely just incorporate some variation like in Street Justice to help avoid the same issue from cropping up again anytime soon. There was and never will be a good enough reason to warrant your suggestions as a viable use of thier resources in developing the game.
3rd it would make them very pay to win. If suddenly I could have among the fastest flights in the game without spending any powers or slots, that would be a big advantage, if i could then do it with other aspects like the coyote form then id be able to replace super speed and super jump as well. Because COX has pvp on any level, such things cant be allowed. As it is the way incarnate powers have impacted PVP and the fact you must sub to access them, is having a pretty negative impact on how this game is percieved by many newcomers who do try out pvp assuming it is another worthwile part of the game, only to find even witha decent 50 build without IOs and Incarnate powers they will be utterly outmatched.
Such things can be very frustrating to newer and more casual players. The current system is fairly well set up to allow you to support the company and enjoy COSMETIC perks, without offering an outright unfair power advantage.
The only reason I stomach Incarnate powers being a only for the subbers aspect is that few frewbs are deserving of the power I waited years for, and most casuals will be happy to sub again if the game gets thier interest and so dont really need thier full power when only logging on now and then mostly to socialize. -
Quote:LOL spidey, at launch within his first 6 issues, before he had a huge fan following, was depicted as easily outmatching all the super groups of the time. FF,Avengers, and X-men first class. This is 100% accurate about the SW, but I have had a hard time swallowing it since I first read the story. He easily bested the entire team. Yes, it was fast and done quickly which gave Spidey an advantage, but he made the X-Men look like amateurs. Clearly (to me, at least) this happened because of his POPULARITY, not because it would really be that easy to beat them. I don't have the story in front of me, but wasn't it Wolverine, Storm, Colossus, Nightcrawler, Prof. X? And Spidey can beat them all? I just don't think it could happen.
Its been clearly outlined that technically only Hulk,THor, and Thing where physically his superior in that early era. So really unless a foe is classed as equal to or tougher then them , they barely can touch spidey strength wise.
Spidey Web, which has only been improved with age, has been clearly stated as being strong enough that a single 1 inch thick strand can hold the thing until it dissolves on its own.
Few appreciate this, but when Peter wore the black suit symbiote, he was probably among the most powerful entities on earth in marvel at the time.
As for later X teams, well none has ever been better then First Class especially in the team work category.
1on1 I doubt there is an X-Man in the current era that really could potentially hold thier own against the guy in marvel who was easily able to out match superboy in marvel vs DC.
The one fight I can see being dangerous would be rogue, who being equal to old ms marvel, plus her natural ability, would just need to fight naked and get spidey out of his threads and bear hug him, Rogue does have one of those put anyone down who can be drained after all. -
Not like I really have bothered to follow marvel in a decade, but ill toss in my 2 inf.
IT WILL SUCK!
Know Why?
X men have since team 2 gained so much popularity, and cyclops was forsaken by x fans as being to goody goody. When in fact he was the x equiv of Capt. America. Few these days even seem to recall how bad *** Scott was once portrayed as. But around the time they had him dump a pregnant wife to get back with the fake jean grey/Pheonix force clone thing, it was clear the writers were taking Scott on a road few would respect him after, and during all this the rise of Wolverine, a character who really never had enough power,or brains to be running in the cosmic classed crew he was on.
As for the evengers. I dont know if there is one left they havent already tainted. Iron Man...nope. Thor.....er uhm odin force...nuff said. Dare Devil...Admittedly cant recall any major DD dishonor in a long time. Oh wait I know in that BS punisher kill nick fury story, dare devil is actually fooled by robo fury. Yeah the single most super sensed hero who can identify people by a heart beat, or track a scent trail through a sewer, be tricked by a tin man.
So honestly I cant even see it being a good read. Last cross over event I recall reading with some interested was X-Men/WildC.A.T.S. which was sadly also wolverine centric for the x side. both the golden age, and the team x team 7 cross overs. Silver age was alot of fun seeing Grifter make out with Jean and it being the event that gave Mr Sinister the DNA of Jean to make madelyne Prior. -
Take care and be well OP.
I just want to say thanks for posting this. I myself recall that first time I had to really quit gaming just to take control of the habit.
People often joke about thier gaming habit, thier addiction, but rarely appreciate how apt those words really are.
Fortunatly COX is a game that caters well to a casual style and in time once I had managed to screw my head on abit straighter and accept it was just a GAME, then spending some time on having FUN felt like a enjoyable hobby again, rather then the 2nd profession and alternate life it had become dangerously close to becoming.
Ive seen gaming addiction do far worse. Ive seen it suck friends into a life where they drop everything RL to make a raid or guild meeting.( curse you WarCrack)
There are still scars on my gaming mentality, the overtones of arrogence that once you have been a hardcore gamer never leaves you, the absolute certainty of being right in every discussion without the need for charts or stats because I have been there and done that or better in days when the challenge would break a newbs will like Blue Steel did to a psionically gifted boy's body once upon a time.
Fortunatly with those scars also came understanding, as guised under elitism as it may sound, that I still favor working more often with casuals,LoreRPers, and even good natured new players interested in learning the game rather then trying to force the game to bend to thier knee.
Hopefully in time the OP to can get a firm grasp on his life, so that one day the game can become that again for him, and he can return to have fun with the rest of us. -
Quote:How does a regen get defeated ? I mean ever! You might be dropped, but that just means revive+MoG and your back up barely missing a beat.Since he's a F2P/Premium player he'll be stuck using SOs/HOs like in the good ol' days.
Regen was once super awesome but those days have long since past. Now it's reasonable but as others have pointed out, a good amount of the regen comes from two click heals, one that'll give you back, when fully slotted, about 1/2 your HP every 30 seconds and the other will boost your max hit points for a time as well as heal a chunk of XP.
Willpower is a little bit of everything, defense/damage resistance/regen. It's also either auto or toggle on and forget.
And personally, the redraw isn't all that annoying. The one regen character I have is a Kat/Regen and frankly I don't even notice. However there have been times when I've been defeated because I forgot to click my heals while in scrapper lock. -
As some mention it really comes down to a certain preference for how you interact with the game.
If you like to be kept very active, and need to feel occupied to stay into the game, then I would suggest Regen.
If you are more interested in just focussing on attacking with little concern to how well you are enduring the damage then I suggest WP.
Is either the best? on thier own hardly. Each has certain primaries that can be coupled with them to achieve a level of meta most only will dream of.
For me my BS/Regen has few real equals and he isnt even Purpled out. My claw/WP on the other hand is down right dull to play at times because once I put on the toggles all I have to do is target hit kill repeat endlessly with no real concern for my own safety.
That doesnt mean regen isnt just as safe, it just means you have to be ready to click your heals.
Id say it largely should be about the character you want to create and portray. If you dont have a clear picture of that, it likely will matter little what power sets you take as you will always struggle trying to find a build within it that fits. Most forum cookie cutter builds rarely perform well for new players. -
an emphatic NO,NOT SIGNED!
I for one as an avid RPer among the ranks of the midnighters enjoy having a gate on the door, as annoying as it may seem to the riff raff.
As an avid TF leader, when I do bother to run an ITF I definatly want people who know where the zone is, and some of the lore surounding it, if they dont care about lore they can play another game as far as I am concerned.
If people cant be bothered to run through the unlocking arc, they certainly cant be relied upon to bother running through a whole TF, which unless speed ran will take a lot longer then that quick and easy unlock arc.
The arc helps weed out the inferior type of personality tha doesnt belong in our game. if you cant easily solo that arc in 30 min or less your character or play style have HUGE flaws you need to improve. Or play a different game.
Its really just like the incarnate unlocking arc. I dont personally think anyone who cant easily solo Trapdoor has any business touching any of the incarnate content.
If you think your on a team running an ITF, and being useful, when you couldnt even unlock the arc on your own, then you can be sure your presence on that team is equally meaningless.
And thats the real crux right there, far to little in game education will only breed more players who come to the forums QQing that things are to hard when compared to content challenge in year one, they have 0 clue of what hard could be. Remember the old TV respec trial? It was once a true challenge, true fun, and had a real chance of failure. Now its a joke we run to kill time for some easy merits. Except when you have a passel of newbs or eccentric old timers who refuse to adapt to the current game. Those types only ever equal filling a body slot to get a tf started, they never equal being a useful part of the team, and those players rarely last long enough to bother becoming contributing citizens of paragon.
So thank you OP but no I would rather drink tea in my private little club with those I know and can count upon, rather then let it become a noisy, over crowded social zone for newbs who think harry potter is cooler then harry dresden. Let alone a better source of inspiration for a magical hero in paragon. -
Quote:I have a very fun borderline gawdmode RP character on virtue who was a rogue long before we even had a red side let alone the option to move old characters there from the blue. But not every villain wants there to be no world. That's the point. Whenever we get involved with a nefarious plot, it's never our own. It's someone else's. And when we're one step from passing through the door to victory, some NPC in whatever story arc we're in shuts the door in our face.
If what I'm reading from you is correct:
-Redside should be ignored because of low population. NO. What I am saying is that due to low activity its a waste of dev resources to spend funds and time developing what could be deemed a largely wasted amount of zones and content as it is. How long did it take for us to get more end game since the lvl 50 cap? Yeah that long, as in for enough 50s to amass that it was the logical design choice.
-Redside story arcs/missions should be bland and disappointing because no one cares about RP, just gameplay. NO. What i am saying is that you cant ever expect to be the biggest baddest villain. WHY? Because this isnta pvp focussed game and blue side players want to fight the biggest of the baddies. By default your villains must in the main storyline always remain second strongers. blue side has felt the same along time, which is why COX does get called City Of Sidekicks by its haters.
-Redside really isn't worth anything because "no one plays it." Actually yes. Fact is it just has become ANOTHER part of the game, no different then any other zone, players are free to play there or not, but its clear they dont see any reason to pad its content further.
Right? Full of assumptions and you know what they say about them
What an incredibly ignorant and unfair way of looking at the game. I'm glad I don't game with you. Dont feel to bad love, being wrong is hard to admit and your very wrong. Especially if you dont think I place RP as a top priority.
His name is T'Keron Valmaz. Based heavily in cOX lore, immensly fun to play and RP, gets to mock all the newb wannaRPr's who come here trying to gawd mode with thier so called unique personal concepts.
On a side note if your so ignorant of lore as to not understand the Rularuu who when i mention am not speaking of the villain group but the actual Entity who you only get to fight a handful of lesser aspects of during the Shadow Shard TFs some of which I love running as RP events quite often.
My problem with WannaRPers is that they keep insisting the game bend its knee to thier silly wants. Playing a villain in this game never came with the promise you got to be the best villain ever, especially in an MMO that is utterly silly when the red side is just a tacked on part of the game. Recluse will likely remain a top dog for a long time to come unless they have his end come following states soon. I kind of suspect him going kind of anti hero. like if some random thug killed off the F4 Doc D would likely go global on the one who denied him the chance to end reed.
The very start and main plot of red side has you be a soldier in the ranks of a near god of a warlord. even in the wrap up of that main arc your not really defeating anyone or anything for good, just securing your own freedom.
There is plenty of room in concept for Cold BLooded assassins, angst ridden mutants who where tormented and turned against society, and evil geniuses who want to try and rule the world( but never can hope to succeed). But you dont get to be a Galactus, that is what rularuu is for. You dont get to be Lexx Luthor, that is what countess crey is for, but you can be a joker, because in the bigger scheme of things, as evil as that man is, he cant effect the world in any real way. -
First the OP is WRONG, a group of 8 still gets it done TOGETHER, they only fixed the exploit at the end that let people bypass the arc completely which was clearly never WAI.
A few points, the ITF is not a fun TF and those who say otherwise are borderline delusional to say its among the best TF without saying IMO after it. See for me its not opinion but fact as I run ALOT of TFs and have no few on my global list who got there because they like to run them with me. ITF only EVER gets run during a wst phase because otherwise it is not ever worth the time vs reward as far as merits go unless you go for all out speed. Speed runs can be fun, but I am to old to really run for that thrill alone that once was enough in the era of games like mario and sonic when beating it faster was all I could think of.
Let me put it thise way most I run with rather enjoy doing the old TFs needed for the TF commander accolade, hell we still prefer running old posi via flashback more then the new one often. Beating an ITF in 30 min sure its cool, beating a sister psyche in under an hour, thats priceless fun. -
Quote:Sorry but its not, the only ridiculous thing is you trying to justify playing poorly concieved concepts for RP purposes. What your trying to say is a superior experiance is just a different kind of game, its called a solo RPG like elder scrolls 4 oblivion( my personal choice) in which not only is its base game quite open to you playing an all out evil kill everyone in the world wizard of doom, but with the right mods or better yet modding skills, can shape the game to reflect what you want to see.Actually it's the limitations of the static MMO paradigm that -prevents- players from ever being able to play a "World Devouring, Life Ending, Catastrophe Causing" type villain in the first place. The fact that the system can't deliver the type of play experience some would want does not make their desire to play that kind of villain a "poor" choice in the least.
Trying to claim players are "playing wrong" because the game won't let them play the way they want is absolutely ridiculous.
An MMO cant be expected to work like that. COX is closer then most thanks to AE letting you create your own personal arcs to play in. However thinking your wants are reasonable is the most delusional self centered thinking I have heard expressed on the forums in some time. -
I love all the QQ from wannbe RPers that complain about the game not fitting THIER character rather then trying to create a character that fits the WORLD.
Let me break it down, if this was a table top RPG like saying beloved D&D, then although sure you got some pretty large control over the character you want to play, there are limits, pre set definations of various aspects of the multi verse of the game you choose to play in.
With the above in mind, there is NO way for anyone to survive the release of the Rularuu. Think multi dimensional Galactus for those not into the LORE of it all. NOTHING can actually match its power directly and the only reason even the mightiest incarnates can last there is thanks to the Kind One known as Faathim, the single aspect of Rularuu that possesses a feeling we can expect aid from.
This game is not mature rated, so frankly be thankful they give even the watered down evil options. Especially when you look at the sheer lack of activity Red Side.
I run alot of TFs on virtue, never have any issue filling them up timely, I go red side, and I cant even count on most on my global friends list as very few didnt go all the way blue to persue hero merits while enjoying the more active population of paragon. I myself am rogue or vig on nearly every character but sadly few are.
Devs can see the stats concerning server population and activity and no doubt have been aware for some time how little interest a game originally titled as a game of heroes managed to really attract with thier red side addition.
Sure many love the ATs, they where designed with the more current game we have then the hero ATs, frequently the vil ATs are the better choice for solo or pvp orientated play. Simply put there is little real reason for them to work on making red side more villainous, when most red siders turn blue at the first oppurtunity. And now few even bother to start red side at all.
Dont get me wrong, I am glad we have it, the option, the ability to play rogue or VIG, all are great aspects that expand our games world and make the younger kid that is champion online tremble in awe at our intimidating vastness.
But most of the people asking here, mainly from what seems an RP perspective, are not trying to be good RPers rather they are trying to treat this game like a single player RPG with the ability to pick and choose what mods should be added. In an MMO your just a small part of a much bigger world. Sure you can try to become mighty enough to yell at the sky and make it hear you, but certainly dont expect it to. -
I just wish they did a better job letting us know stuff like this was going on I didnt hear nothing about a burial service in advance
-
Quote:get out while you can. season1 with CE brought back The Doctor with a vegeance, DT did a great job keeping it going, and then along comes our new writer and he has quickly killed off the franchise. Ratings are way down for a reason since Moffet got control.I am having a HECK of a time getting into the new (for me) Smith seasons. Amy reminds me of somebody I know (she is a DEAD ringer for her), and his Dr. just seems off to me. I also don't like that he looks so young. I don't know how old he is, but he just looks young. Did it start slow for anybody else? And if it did, did it get better?
Worse he took the best part of season 3, the Blink episode, which he had done, and I loved. And bent over those weeping angels and made them weep all the harder.
And pretty much the only thing from 1-4 he ever allowed to matter was River who was a interesting character in season 4s 2 parter in the library, I rather loved her sacrifice and the docs saving of her at the very end. But Moffet has turned her into a disgusting mary sue character that practically has become the new example one points to when explaining that term.
I was so into DW that I was digging up and watching the original serials from episode 1 on but with what 5+ has done to my enjoyment of the character i have lost the interest in finishing the project of educating myself on classic who.
Those who like the 5+ ask yourselves do you really like anything except amy and rory who are great companion characters, and the doc light episodes have been tolerable. But overall even they have been largely under used and even contaminated with Rivers lameness. -
I am a long time fan of the kheldian ATs. Funny enough I also have long been in RP an Anti Kheldian advocate. decrying the vile parasites that steal human bodies for thier own use. Due to that it should come as no surprise that when I play either, I only play them using thier human form.
This ofcourse has important and viable logic behind my disgust with the forms.
Nova: Sure early on it can be pretty useful, those 4 blasts are decent, and being a fast flyer popping away can let you street sweep like a top gun fighter ace. But by around lvl 20 or so compared to even a half decent aoe build in any other AT, Nova loses its oomph, and is so far below the mark that we call squishy as to make them laughable.
It ofcourse compounds when you encounter Q bosses who tend to send less experianced khelds in Nova fleeing in pants wetting terror.
When you compare a nova at 20+ to any halfway competent blaster, let alone a master blaster, then Nova goes from pointless to actually being a liability on the team not worth the space they take up.
Then there is Dwarf. Dwarf is in fact even more laughable then Nova, because there is no real level range where it has ANY use. A well put together human form PB or WS is going to outsurvive a dwarf always. The DMG output from a dwarf is non existant. In an age where well made tanks can do significant damage the dwarf is just another waste of a spot.
A human form Kheldian, made well, and played well will be equal to a blaster and tanker, needs only a few good IOs to cut down on mez effects, a tray full of breakfrees, and at 50 the same oh so popular clarion incarnate power so many are flocking to.
And lets not forget the whole power of being on a team. When I am on my PB I have a single ideal team set up. Defenders as many as I can get. Be they offender, pure support, even a pure archer. Its in fact perfect because I view PB as the ideal AT for superman and iron man style power builds. With the right mix of defenders you can have your green arrow, green lantern, red tornado, raven, booster gold, and well many others you get the idea I am sure. The PB backed by 7 defenders goes into a level of power few in the game can appreciate.
WS well lol a human form WS well made and played is like a dark blaster, defender, controller, and tank in one. Just scary. I find a WS on my team going nova or dwarf they are kicked and ignored simply because they are a threat to the very existance of my sanity. its like WHYYYYY!!!!!!
thats my two inf.
sum it up by saying just drop the forms, give us toggles that when active give those forms buffs and powers as an addition to our human powers with no silly shape changing. -
qft!

Quote:Let the tank take point? Pff utter madness unless I know that tank personally. Otherwise my blaster IS on point blank mode. Why? Because I only ever rely on myself and my characters build. Be he blaster, scrapper, brute,or even a stalker I am on lead even with 7 tanks along for the ride until I see proof they are more then mindless meat shields. As far as my experiences go, you can run all of the even level content in the game with any mix of ATs and powers and do fine.
The exception to this, however, is when you are doing max difficulty content. I'm not talking about the itrials here (those you can run with nearly any mix of ATs). When you run regular missions at +4/x8, generally you have a certain set of roles that you want to fulfill on the team, and certain ATs fulfill those roles better than others. For example, if you need someone who can run into the group and soak up aggro, you're best bet is a tank or a brute, and your worst bet is a blaster.
When it gets to that level, what each AT and even what each power set brings to the table needs to be considered. -
I think Id go with the Incarnate Barriar with the raise dead aspect. Extreme self defense and the ability to bring back the fallen methinks would equal being the messiah of a new religion

Not at all accurate. Many a kill all mish is given a nice little boost by bringing out some lore pets. Also if you find you team faltering i love my storm els coming out to fill the line. A power doesnt need to be all the time to be useful.

Quote:Its so cute when kids prefer to leave thier toys left in the box. It is great for covering tuition costs down the road. Sadly I myself always enjoy taking my toys out of the box, sometimes taking them apart and putting them back together different, modded if you will to do more then thier original design was capable of.Yes, a good player is obviously a priority when looking at who to team with.
But when you have 2 choices, a great player on a corruptor and an equally skilled player on a peacebringer, I'd without a doubt want the corruptor more. Of course am I going to deny a friend a spot on a team because he is playing a pb? No, because he's my friend. Or in a more practical situation let's say I send a tell to said friend who only has 2 toons (1 is a corr and 1 is a pb) to join a team for a tf. Said friend replies and says he doesn't care which toon he brings. Which toon do you think I'll be asking for? It's hardly a choice at all.
Once you get past the 'good player > bad player' situation, all that is left is AT effectiveness, and some ATs will outperform and be more desirable than other ATs in nearly every or most applicable situations.
This is the same with any AT in the game. Presuming ANYTHING based on an AT or power sets in and of themselves is silly, as is leading a TF and needing anything but yourself. BAD TF leader imo. I dont follow those that our victory is a ? Which is why I only lead them, and always know we wont fail because I am there. The rest are free to be whatever they like as about the only AT that can effect our time to completion is a kin keeping me juiced to top performance on my characters.
I know this because I can lead TFs with a blaster, scrapper, PB, even a stalker. carrying the majority of the weight, and always complete the TF in my time estimate.
Single target or aoe specialist, melee or ranged it matters not what a good player wields. really not ever. that is the strength of COX. No one is ever needed, but everyone is always WELCOME, least on my teams. Until they do something to piss me off anyways. My star my ship my crew, dont like it you can get off my boat.
