I don't know if the tier 2 henchmen take resistance sets. You can enhance resistance, that doesn't mean they can take resist sets.
They probably can't, seeing as protector bots cannot take defense set enhancements.
All I was saying was "if you can slot it in your pet, you are still the one who gets the bonus."

Echoing Deth on the Soul Transfer/OG topic.
My DA/fire tank has no stuns, so OG is pretty useless. Soul transfer ends up being a nice set mule (3% E/N defense), and in the rare case that I get overwhelmed and killed, the mag 30 stun prevents anyone else on the team from dropping while I get back up and grab all the aggro I just lost. -
Dark Armor.
All of it's holes can be completely plugged with IOs. You get the best heal in the game. You get resistance to endurance drain. You don't have to be afraid of psychic clockwork.
It's also a resist based set with enough defense that you can softcap to S/L with no problem, E/N with a little trouble. -

Quote:Except against Cimerorans and tower buffed Recluse.Because when you're running around at the softcap, more defense won't do you any good at all.
Seriously though, despite the math I did, my tank is resist based and I carry two columns of purples and one of oranges, but that's because I've added defense to the tank. My very worst defense attribute is 23%, so a single medium purple puts me at the softcap to everything. And I do mean S/L/E/N/F/C/Psy/Melee/Ranged/AoE everything.
I find the purples do more for me in more situations.
But the math does prove that if you've only got one inspiration to use, the best one for you is the one that will push you closest to whatever cap you can reach.
Who ever uses only one inspiration at a time? To hell if I know. -
Funny thing, I still get the fanfare and message on the screen, even though my music is off.

Quote:Please tell me which size purple inspriation gives 45% defense again?ok im goin to bite.....So you have 80% resist(yey!)....now the question becomes do i eat an orange and hit my cap reduceing incoming dmg by 90% or do i eat a purple and only have a 5% chance to get hit?
How about I throw some math out there.
Small inspiration usage when you already have 80% resist:
No inspiration: Taking 20% damage of all attacks that hit. 50% attacks hit, so we're at 10% of incoming damage gets through.
Small orange: Taking 10% damage of all attacks that hit. 50% attacks hit, so now it's 5% of incoming damage that gets through.
Small purple: Taking 20% damage of all attacks that hit. 50%-12.5%= 37.5% attacks hit, so the result is 7.5% damage gets through.
In the case of 80% damage resistance, a small orange is better than a small purple.
Further study:
You can see that the two situations are comparable. The small purple is 50% less effective than the small orange. But what about medium inspirations?
Again, no inspiration: Taking 20% damage of all attacks that hit. 50% attacks hit, so we're at 10% of incoming damage gets through.
Medium orange: Same as before, in fact, some of the orange is wasted. Taking 10% damage of all attacks that hit. 50% attacks hit, so now it's 5% of incoming damage that gets through.
Medium purple: Now it gets interesting. 20% damage from attacks that hit, 25% attacks hit. Result is 5% of all incoming damage gets through. This is the same as the small orange.
So you can get the same result from a small orange that you can from a medium purple.
Yes, all this is making an assumption that all incoming damage is the resisted type of damage. -
Quote:You are correct for the simple reason that each % of resistance or defense is more valuable than the % added before it.Wow, the ignorance runs deep on this board. If you're at 80% s/l resist, how would a purple help more than an orange? Someone enlighten me.
Perhaps this is a case of Scrapper bias, where lower caps make resist inherently inferior to defense on that class. But contrary to popular belief, not everyone's playing a scrapper.
Added resistance/defense does not scale linearly with effective mitigation.
You still have to consider that a medium purple inspiration is like adding 50% resistance. While not enough to make you a god on its own, it's contributing more towards the cap than a medium or even a large orange.
If you gobble 2 medium purples, you're at the softcap. If you gobble 2 medium oranges, it doesn't do much. But considering that it only takes one orange to push you into the hardcap for resistance as an elec tank, the oranges are doing more for you. -

This is too good of a suggestion to give up on.

Put me on the list of people who would like Leandro's tool when he's comfortable sending it out.

I don't see why you'd purple two builds on the same character unless they were a VEAT and less so a HEAT.
Using the purple sets is pushing a build towards recharge, and that's about it. So with an AR blaster, for instance. Build 1 with purples is massive recharge, and build 2 is ... massive... recharge. What's the point?
No, if you've got the time/inf, make one purple focused, and the other focused on something else (probably defense). -
1. The NPCs aren't protected during the rez animation. They can't be targeted, but you can still lambaste them with AoEs. This means that what you're asking for is not "fair."
2. I couldn't turn down an untouchable period of 10 seconds. Enough time to toggle back up and use a non-combat rez like it was a combat rez. But fair is fair, we'd have to give the same to the all the Freakshow. They'd get 10 seconds to beat on us with impunity. -
Quote:I believe the term "Server List Merge" means nothing more than putting all the servers into one list so that Europeans can roll characters on Virtue and the rest of us can roll characters on Union. The only problem with a server list merge I see, is it would only give most of us TWO more servers to play on, not four.
Unless of course you happen to speak fluent German and French, in which case you do get four.
The Europeans would benefit a lot more from it. Which is fine by me. -
New suggestion:
You can buy the 60 month vet badge for the small one time fee of $1200, which approximately how much current owners of the 60 month badge have paid. This calculation assumes $15/month with a 10% interest rate compounded annually and rounded down to the nearest hundred.
The 72 month badge may be purchased for $1500. -

Quote:Yeah, you'll be nigh impossible to kill, just watch for mez attacks.Stacking with World of Pain and Ember Shield, I should be over 60% Res easily to S/L before BG mode kicks in.
Quote:The other reason for Soul is Oppressive Gloom. Stunned minions do no damage and I "think" successive applications stack (I could be very wrong on this). But, the health drain is negligible due to Suppress Pain and it's end cost is very low as well.
I'm a bit rusty, since I haven't actually made the macro in a while, but what I think you want is this:
/macro kill "petcompow Demon_Prince attack$$petcomname [Hellfire Gargoyle's name] attack$$petcomname [Hellfire Demonling's name] attack"
If there's spaces in the pet names, replace with underscores. -
For Master runs:
Blueside:
One tank.
Seven defenders.
Redside:
One brute.
Seven corruptors.
Or co-op:
One tank.
Seven defenders.
For run of the mill mission clearing:
Blueside:
Eight defenders.
Redside:
Eight corruptors.
Co-op:
Eight defenders. -
