Quote:Oh, in that case, can't you just move the window off screen? Drag it down near the bottom so the tab is still there for you to pull back up later.Errr... I was doing Hamidon. Did it 3 times. The shards are not worth taking so I took a HO and have merits waiting for me to accept. I was wondering if that windowscale command could be used on the reward window.
Either that or just take the half merits and switch to a different character before running your third raid next time. -

Just wait until you pick up Stygian Return. It practically begs you to get in over your head.
I ran an Apex last night as my 'shade and he had just as many defeats as the rest of the team combined because I couldn't be bothered with waiting for teammates to catch up to me. I did not, however, spend any time in the dirt. Defeat just meant I got a free health/endurance refill and 10 seconds of invulnerability. -

This is a spinoff of a thread in the kheldian forums that I believe warrants a discussion of its own.
Group Fly, right now:
Quote:Group Fly's problems:Radius - 60 ft
Endurance Cost - 1.0/s
Fly speed between that of Fly and Hover
-tohit of 25%
Prohibitive endurance cost.
Absurdly high -tohit penalty.
Flight mode (and -tohit penalty) enforced on all members in the very large area, prohibiting some powers from being used (e.g. Footstomp, Grounded) and making the use of others difficult (e.g. All Traps).
As a group travel power, it is impractical. Easily obtainable temporary jetpacks are as fast and provide more freedom, as they do not drop you if you are not following close enough or lag out.
My proposal:
Quote:Radius - 35 ft
Endurance Cost - 0.5/s (The same cost as flight)
Fly speed equal to that of Hover
+defense bonus of (0.25*Ranged Defense Buff Mod)%
Group Hover, as I'm calling it, would become a combat power, an excellent tool for support characters to keep their teams safe. The proposed defense bonus is less than Maneuvers. It's equal to that of Hover, but scales off of the ally buff modifier. The smaller radius is to allow use of this power without filling up a room, which means people who don't want to fly don't have to.
Thoughts? -
Quote:I agree, but I'd like to mention this is a dangerous road to start down. If build up is accessible in nova, why not also in dwarf? And if build up works in forms, why not let warshades use Sunless Mire in forms? What other powers should be usable in forms? Heals? Shields? Stygian Circle? Light Form? Eclipse? So no. It would not IMHO be worth asking for Build Up to be clicked in forms for nothing more than a 3 point increase in average dps.
I will say that I don't agree with light form locking you out of forms. I don't think you should be able to activate it while in a form, but it should bloody well carry over into them. Eclipse does, and that's not entirely game breaking...
Quote:I would go so far as to say the ENTIRE CONCEPT of Group Fly is outdated and should be scrapped, or (because of that thrice-damned cottage rule) at least the penalties in accuracy, fly speed and endurance removed.
Here's my idea for Group Fly: Call it Group Hover, remove the -tohit and make it so everyone near you gains flight at hover speeds and a defense bonus on the order of maneuvers. Make the radius a bit smaller than it is now. This will allow group fly users to set up a sphere of protection that doesn't fill the room. People who want to hover under the safety cushion can, while melee people (particularly footstomping ones) can stay on the ground. -

At the recharge cap you can summon one every 48 seconds. With a duration of 200 seconds, that means you can have a fifth one for 8 seconds. My memory must be off when I recalled seeing six, because it's not mechanically possible.
-
I'm still sitting at three myself, but I don't have the tier four. I think I should have a brief overlap of four.
I have seen a screenshot of 5. Four applications of speed boost or something like that. -
Quote:Both, actually. About half the value is "suppressed" when you are no longer hidden, but the other half if always active. I'm unsure on the exact numbers right now.So as a follow-up question, does the Def bonus apply so long as the toggle is on, or only when hidden?
The only dumb questions are ones you don't ask. -
Quote:Just last night I sent this over the Virtue TFs channel:My requirements for a TF: 7 other players (or less, depending on the TF and my mood)
AT requirements: It absolutely HAS to be one of the 14 ATs the game allows.
"Apex with room for three. Tank or a brute would be nice. So would a controller/defender/corruptor/MM. Or a dominator/blaster/scrapper/stalker. Could also make use for another kheldian or a SoA."
STF, LRSF, Apex, Tin Mage, Shard or Synapse TFs... my rules haven't changed.
Any build, any budget, no exclusions. -
I believe he's referring to the fact that Inv can be endurance drained. This is only a problem in pretty rare circumstances, but the hole is there. 25% resistance to endurance drain and -recovery is nice, but not enough to keep your blue bar alive when you're being sapped.
Then again, the sapping effect has to actually hit you to work, and Inv comes with a lot of defense.
Then again again, WP has no resistance to endurance drain at all. It has a lot of +recovery, but that definitely isn't enough when you're hit with -end. -
Recharge only affects the speed at which the power recharges. It won't make you hide any faster.
I tend to add one slot to Hide, one is for an LotG +recharge and the other is for a LotG Defense enhancement. -
One thing that's worth mentioning: There's a very large difference between Quasar and the blaster nukes when it comes to -recovery. A blaster who nukes incurs a -1000% recovery penalty, which nullifies base recovery and nine times that (just in case he had eighteen applications of speed boost).
Quasar only has -100% recovery attached to it, so you only lose your base recovery. Stamina and set bonuses are enough that you maintain a positive endurance gain even after the nuke. Granted, it probably works out to half of base recovery, but any ally boosts on you are also working. There have been times where I went from Quasar to Stygian Circle almost immediately. -
Gah, I did forget this; it completely slipped my mind. Yes, do this. By the time you've finished killing the minions in dwarf form it should be recharged for a second shot where I did remember to mention it.

Quote:You're half right: the best survivability is in Eclipse. There is already survivability in the tools you already have, it just isn't as much. You're still a couple levels away from one of the best tools, though, which is Gravitic Emanation.I super-speed and stealth over to a group, Mire, Dwarf, Mire, Squid and.... die. I understand that the true survivability is in Eclipse but I don't know if I can make it that far like this. I feel like all those many low level blasters I've thrown out! I'd like to enjoy my Warshade but I'm really not feeling it at the moment...
Right now you're at a level where you can't really solo like you're trying to. You don't have SOs, which is a major factor. Stygian Circle is also an incredible recovery power you're just one level from having. For now, when you're soloing, you'll have to rely a lot more on dwarf's survivability. Lead off with the human mire like you've been, but stay in dwarf for a few of the dwarf mires. You should kill all the minions quickly doing this and leave yourself with just LTs. Now you can drop forms and Gravity Well the strongest one (so you have a target you can ignore for a while) or the weakest one (kill it outright, but possibly overkill damage). This is typically where you will Stygian Circle, but maybe before the Gravity Well, too. You resume the fight at full health/endurance. Anyway, there's only a few of them left, and with your heaviest human attack on recharge, now is the time to switch to nova. Then again, Sunless Mire might be recharged in there somewhere. It's worth throwing that in when you can.
That should help, but really, I recommend sticking to larger teams (at least until Gravitic Emanation) for two reasons. The first is your lack of survival tools right now. A team not only shares aggro, but provides you with the inherent bonuses that will make you awesome. Hell, you could end up with capped resistance in dwarf. The second reason is the faster experience gain. Simply put: Larger teams earn XP faster. Take some time to form a few TFs. Hey, you want that accolade eventually, right? -
Quote:Fix'd.There is a reason people will pay 2billion plus for another IO that can give them 3% defense.
You can get one on the relative cheap (several million): The Steadfast +3% defense IO.
The price of the PvP IO, however extreme, is not solely a function of what the IO does. It has a lot more to do with the IO's rarity. Then again, if the IO didn't do anything, no matter how rare it was it wouldn't cost a dime.
Even the basic enhancements from PvP sets are hundreds of millions. They may be good, but not that good. They are that rare. -
Check out my softcap guide.
The short version: Every % of defense does more for you than the % that came before it. The last 5% does as much for you as the first 40%. Sometimes weave is that last 5%. -
The last one in the series is called "Active Tab."
I use that in conjunction with several tabs. It helps me keep chat cleaner (separate channels in separate tabs, some in separate boxed) and I never have to type code or click those little icons to change where I'm sending text. It always sends to the default channel of the tab I have selected.
I know those buttons are little, but I would rather them stay that way so they are not intrusive to the rest of chat. -
Quote:Oh do I know this feeling. It usually takes between one to three Stygian Returns before I'm back into full swing after a long break.I know if I don't play my WS for about a week I forget how, thanks to various keybinds and multiple options, its almost as bad as my MM that way. Particularly perturbing is when I'm lying there faceplanted and say to myself, "You know, if I'd used powers A, C and E instead of B, E and F I'd have survived that, no problem. . ."
I've said it before: If you do all the right things at all the right times you'll be unstoppable. Is there room for error? A little. There's a very fine line between awesome and dead, though. -
Quote:If blasters are a "support class," then so are crabs and doms.Defenders, corruptors (and most will disagree) blasters are a support class.
So crabs or Dom? Is their a powerset combo that shines over the others that I should be looking at?
It sounds like what you're looking for is a ranged damage dealing tank, often called tankmage. Also often called an MFing Warshade. There's a guide in my signature. -

Quote:Good point. You remember that scene in Episode 3 where they were going to arrest the emperor and finally had him beat? Mace Windu (Sam) was standing over the emperor, pointing the light saber at him, and he was saying something. I don't remember what he was actually saying, though, because all I heard was:If you are going to quote Samual L. It should probably be in all caps. CAUSE THATS HOW HE MFing TALKS!
