Weave--If I wanted to get rid of it.

I need some number crunchers to help me on this one. For my tanks I usually get Tough and Weave, but when I pull up the numbers, it doesn't seem to add *that* much (between 5-7% if I remember). When I look at just using IOs in my attacks, I can get most of that back. So if I have the slots to put in the right IOs, is it a huge concern to get rid of Weave?

Well, if you can softcap (Achieve universal or near-universal 45% defense) without Weave, then sure, drop it, save the powerslot and the endurance.

If weave is your only means of defense then yea, you will not notice much difference if you get rid of it. However, as stated already, if you have decent numbers already, that 5-7% can make a big difference.

There is a reason people will pay 2billion plus for an IO that can give them 3% defense.

Fix'd.

You can get one on the relative cheap (several million): The Steadfast +3% defense IO.

The price of the PvP IO, however extreme, is not solely a function of what the IO does. It has a lot more to do with the IO's rarity. Then again, if the IO didn't do anything, no matter how rare it was it wouldn't cost a dime.

Even the basic enhancements from PvP sets are hundreds of millions. They may be good, but not that good. They are that rare.

I haven't checked in a few weeks, but the PvP PBAoE set has a few pieces that sell cheaper than Multistrike.

If you can softcap without it, sure, go ahead and drop it.

But.....using IOs to get that defense instead of Weave will prevent you from slotting IOs in those powers that will get you other things. If I can get 7.5% defense out of a power that I would want to take anyway on my tank I'd rather do that and leave myself room to focus IO slotting on other things.

Remember, when you slot defense with IOs you get a percentage to one or two defenses. Weave gives you defense to EVERYTHING, including Psionic.

To match the positional defense you get from Weave you would need: 2 Obliteration/Touch of Death sets, 2 Scirocco's Dervish sets, and 2 Mako's Bite sets. All of those sets require 5 or 6 to be slotted to get their defense bonus

That is a minimum of 34 IOs slotted to match the defense granted by ONE power.
