It would be nice if Tips worked in the manner you described (which is quite a coincidence) but unfortunately the way they drop is completely arbitrary, you could have gotten that Tip off any 20+ enemy, be they Nemesis, Carnie, or even Tsoo or Devouring Earth.
-
I'll never cease to be amazed at how many people report this as a bug.
-
I've been suggesting Freem. I can't believe it hasn't caught on yet, it's the most obvious thing.
-
I think Team Teleport would win, especially if it's dropping MM pets out of the sky. I mean, how do you fight ker-splat?

Quote:Apparently the forum has decided I don't need to be logged in at all because I got logged out just responding to your post (how many forum maints has it been now?).The forums can be a dangerous place. Sometimes its best just to read the dev digest, especially if you are feeling squeamish. I think you will find that several months from now you will be a very happy VIP player.
Anyway, the Dev Digest is how I found Posi's post to begin with. Yeah. Maybe I should read everything except the Dev Digest. -
Quote:I'm trying really really hard to trust the devs here but they don't have a great track record on this sort of thing and I have a really terrible feeling about this F2P business, so pardon me if I am expecting the absolute worst and not properly interpreting things that have not been written well to begin with. And may I say you have done a equally (in your words) lousy job at reading comprehnsion and if this was any other game/forums I would say for sure that you are being delibertly obtuse.
I'm honestly thinking about laying low until it blows over (or blows apart) because it's all making me sort of sick to my stomach. -
Fine. Still stand by my statement that marketing (or whoever) has done a lousy job, but I haven't come to expect much more lately.
-
I would also just like to say that even if I am completely misinterpreting every single bad thing I am seeing about CoHF, whoever's responsible for writing this stuff up has done a positively rotten job explaining it (although points to the devs for continually answering questions and setting up Q&As on UStream and Facebook, I just wish their answers were clearer).

Quote:Key words being "enough Paragon Reward Tokens", complete that sentence as "...to spend on unlocking MMs and Controllers". If that's not what Posi meant then he really didn't phrase it well at all.
MM and Controllers are automatically unlocked when you have accumulated enough Paragon Reward Tokens (for existing veterans it's around 3 years). -
Quote:This is an exceptionally stupid idea. What if I don't want to play MMs and Controllers? What if I have precisely zero interest in the ATs? What if I would rather spend my 3 years of Reward Tokens on something else? You're taking away choice and that is A Very Bad Thing. You might as well leave the old Veteran Reward system in if you're going to pull this, because it sounds like it works the same way.CLARIFICATION about Masterminds (and Controllers):
Zwill said that you can choose to unlock MM and Controllers with your Paragon Reward tokens. This is INCORRECT. MM and Controllers are automatically unlocked when you have accumulated enough Paragon Reward Tokens (for existing veterans it's around 3 years). You don't even need to spend these Reward tokens to get the unlock. Of course, you can always unlock them early by buying them on the Paragon Market.
P.S. This change doesn't affect me in the slightest as I will probably only ever bother to play as a VIP (don't see the point in playing with so many of these restrictions, but then you don't really care about non-paying customers I suppose), and I actually do like MMs, so this is my unbiased opinion. -
Quote:They are immune to the normal e-mail limit, and they're going to be in a separate pane from regular e-mails (this decision was made after many players complained about them being put into the regular e-mail box). This is why Certificates for supposedly globally unlocked costume parts are a bad idea. How long before your e-mail is clogged with certificates you don't want to delete? Or are they somehow immune from the normal e-mail limit?
Hopefully it's a stopgap until Freedom is released.
You might want to go look at it on Test before jumping to conclusions and making judgments about it. -
Quote:My WP Brute is an android. The S/L resistance represents, well, his sturdy android body, while the Psi resistance represents the fact that his brain is mechanical. To the OP: I think one of the things you might be hung up on, is Willpowers description. Ignore it. It's flavor text for the powerset, but doesn't have to be that way for the character created.
WILLPOWER can easily be seen as robotic armor, and the player wanted to use WP instead of INV. -
you forgot that shards can be converted to threads, left out Notices altogether

Quote:Only if free accounts are permitted to PvP, which I'm doubting they will. Also, does anyone else think we may see more pvp io farmers when people won't have to pay for a second account? I think so, but not sure to what extent.
P.S. Free account members clearly must be called Freeemers. -
Invuln/SS plays just fine, tyvm. It doesn't need gimmicks.
If the devs were going to synergize, I'd prefer to see all combinations get something unique, not just the so-called "iconic" ones. (Invuln/SS gets Recovery bonus, for instance, while Invuln/Dark gets, I dunno, a Regen bonus. Just making stuff up here, it would need to be balanced.) If you give preferential treatment to a certain combination that's all anyone will ever play. Does the game really need to become City of Superman, Wolverine & Batman? -
I'll just point out that Batman took a blast from Darkseid and ultimately survived.
I'd rather not see game mechanics warped for RP reasons, myself. Dark Melee happens to synergize with Shield Defense because the -ToHit in DM synergizes with the Defense in SD. So does this mean the -ToHit effect should be added to Super Strength instead? Would that make any more sense?
Completely /unsigned. -

Quote:Wow, a lot of the stuff mentioned in that article sounds incredibly familiar, like another game that tried to compete and failed...
Really worried now. -
Quote:Given the magnitude of idiocy required to make this move I'm not making any assumptions.Do you really think they'd ever stop selling character slots? Those have got to be one of the best sellers in the in-game part of the store.
Nice to know they're not complete idiots (besides the people who write this stuff up). -
I don't think that advice translates beyond Freedom and Virtue, though.
-
VIP Users receive: 12 [character slots] per server, plus slots that were unlocked or directly purchased
Kinda sounds like while VIP Users can keep any extra slots beyond 12 on any server they have them, they won't be able to add any more.
Somebody PLEASE tell me that I'm wrong. I have no interest in playing on any other server besides Pinnacle (although with this new paradigm the server may turn into a horrible pit of free players, so maybe it'll work itself out). -
Quote:So by your logic, the person that inf came from is equally or more ebil. You don't just pull 400 million out of thin air. You take it from the hard-working casual player. So people who give away lots of inf are still ebil, because they have to be in order to be able to afford to give away said inf.
Also, I am a casual player. I don't even play that often anymore. -
What's New: Incarnate TFs (Apex and Tin Mage), Incarnate Trials (BAF/Lambda Sector/the upcoming Keyes Island), some new low-level stuff (Admiral Sutter TF, Mortimer Kal SF), revamped Praetorian arcs in Peregrine to match with Going Rogue, new powersets (Kinetic Melee, Demon Summoning, Electric Control, Dual Pistols), revamped Positron TF, Ultra Mode graphical settings, new arcs that use Doppelganger technology (2 per side), more exploration badges in virtually all city and hazard zones, ability to e-mail most items and inf, piles of QoL changes
What do you with Inherent Fitness: *shrug* IO mules if there's nothing else you want. Keep in mind you don't get extra slots to account for this, so you have to choose between moving slots from other powers to slot the new stuff or not slot the new stuff.
Is Going Rogue worth getting?: YES DAMMIT!!
