back after a couple years and i have a bunch of questions

ive been out for about 2 years now, i came back a short time a couple years ago for a month or 2, for architect. I know about IO's, just currious if there has been any big shake ups in this aspect over the last 2+ years

i see you can buy rename tokens.. Is there any way to earn them? Is changing name on a toon first time free? same with server transfer slots (i noticed the buttons in the UI, but cilcking on them didnt reveal any prices, didnt want to keep going and get sucked into a charge i dont want. (link to that info for the store would be great)


MY favorite toons are a fire/storm troller, kat/dark scrapper, ice/fire tank, energy/energy blaster.. Any major changes to these sets? or really any of the old sets. Im sure there have been changing so im not really asking for a giant list, I mean just something that really changed the way things are played in the last few years.

I noticed positrons taskforce got updated, (can you run the old one from the arcives to rerun missions? that time travel place) Any other of the old taskforces get an update?
I saw faultine get an update, rikki warzone, and the hollows also got a pass, any zones sence then get an update, outside of the new going rogue zones obviously (crosses figures about boomtoom)


can you get back to the new zone pretoria after lvl 20? if not, are there any badges really worth getting? im not a huge badge hunter outisde of one toon the first i made, but im not obbessed about it. But if there is something really cool to grab i dont wanna miss if if ya cant return. if you cant return is there any talk about adding on to this dimention in the future for the old heroes/villans to get there for badge hunting?


with inheriant fitness these days, it seams like most toons got an extra 3 power slots to add on.. But no extra slots.. Seams like you are slot hungry these days, is that really the case?

With the whole new factions, with vigilante and rouge and such, whats up with Super bases? are there any merged bases hero/villan? can you access a hero base from villain side in the case of a vigiliante. Im wondering if you lose access to bases or how supergroups are getting effected by swapping factions.



Ive heard of some new extended 50 content, something about continuning to add on to your hero.. Something about your character not being done at 50 anymore like some new powers or somethihgn. Any links to what thats all about?

i noticed a bunch of new servers, some europe ones, and a few others, Union, defiance, perhaps a couple others.. How are these new servers doing? I play hero side on justice, and villan side infinity, was just surprised to see an older MMO adding servers vrs closing.. Nice to see for a change

tried saving some costumes in the creator, after updating them a little, and it told me certain items dont exist.. (toons made back at launch) Have the peices been moved, or are these costume peices no longer avaiable? (im hoping the first, but i dont wanna edit something with out being able to get it back) So currious if there are any known issues with costume parts no longer being avaiable

I know lots of Q's but any help would be great.. Loving the new Ultra graphics look, and costume creator has never looked better. the new tutorial, and preatoria zone really seams interesting so far and im looking forward to playing after a long break

Rename Tokens: cannot be earned, only bought. If you transfer a character and that name is taken on the new server, you get to rename your character (which I've used when I've wanted to rename a character that I'm transferring, by making sure there's a character with the same name on the new server -- IE making one myself if there isn't one).

There was a time about two years ago when transfers were offered for free for an extended period of time as a Christmas present, and when Going Rogue came out they offered them again for free for a short time. They did not do the same thing this year, and I don't think they've ever offered rename tokens for free.

Powers Changes: Not sure there's been any major changes to the power sets you mentioned. There have been new alternative animations added for a lot of powers, as well as the ability to color many effects of course.

Zone Updates: No update to Boomtown, probably never will be. Can't think of any other zone updates besides the ones you've mentioned, but the Maria Praetorian arcs you get in the 45-50 range have been updated to reflect new Praetorians.

Praetoria: There's a portal to Praetoria in Pocket D. The only thing that I can think of that offers something more than a badge is one of the zone events that grants you an animation where you fall on the floor and have an epileptic fit like the Praetorian ghouls do when they die. But you can get all of the explore badges pretty easily.

Inherent Fitness: There are no additional slots, something you have to take into consideration when reworking your build. There are several useful pool powers that don't need extra slots of course -- Recall Friend, Combat Jumping, Manuevers. You just have to plan your build out knowing you have more powers but the same number of slots as before.

Switching Sides: Vigilantes are still Heroes. Rogues are still Villains. If you're a hero and go villain, you are not kicked out of your SG but you can't access the base or earn prestige. Basically if you plan to eventually return to being a hero, you can stay in the Super Group, otherwise you'd want to join a Villain Group. There is no such thing as a combined hero/villain SG.

Endgame: Uh... links. I'll let someone else handle this one. ^_^

Servers: The European servers are on the server list but there are no "new" servers.

Costumes: Most likely the pieces you want are there but have been moved somewhere else.

I also am back after a few years. I would like to play on the most populated servers.

The "new servers" aren't really new, they just consolidated the American and European server lists.

There are a few badges in Praetoria that can only be obtained by native Praertorians, and only before they leave for Primal Earth. There's a badge in the tutorial for reading all of the text options, a badge for being Loyalist and Resistance alignments, and a badge for doing 5 Moral Choice missions. You can't flashback to any of this, even as a former Praetorian. However, in Issue 20.5, Primal Earth characters will be able to get the Praetorian tutorial badge (Avid Reader) from Prometheus in Ouroboros (possibly only at level 50 though...not sure how that will work).

Endgame: Go talk to Mender Ramiel in Ouroboros at level 50. You can also talk to the aforementioned Prometheus for more Incarnate information.

That should get you going. It's a lot to take in. Simplified form:

1. Once you've run the Mender Ramiel arc in Ouroboros, you will open up your Alpha Slot. After that you will gain incarnate shards as random drops from most of the stuff you do, TFs especially, and some TFs will give special incarnate reward options instead of merits (you get to choose at the end of the TF). Also there are Weekly Task Force/Strike Forces designated by the devs that give a "Notice of the Well" as an extra reward, which is used for the incarnate system. (As an aside, these special weekly TFs also grant much more exp than normal for non-level 50's.)

2. If I'm remembering correctly, you click on the Powers tab and then Incarnate Abilities (something like that) to open up your incarnate window. After that you have to play around with it a bit and read up on it to figure out how it works.. but the first tab shows your Incarnate slots and if anything is slotted, or shows progression to opening up that slot... second tab is where you see the different incarnate ability trees and where you craft the Incarnate Abilities (kind of like IOs) that you would slot into your incarnate slots back on tab 1. Tab 3 is where you manage your various Incarnate "salvage"... where you can use your shards, threads, and incarnate reward pieces to craft the actual pieces you'll need for whichever ability you want to craft back on tab 2.

I forgot to add that everything beyond the Alpha slot is, for the moment, stuff that you only get experience and drops for in the two incarnate trials: BAF and Lambda. They'll be adding another trial soon, and... I can't remember if they're definitively adding any other ways to earn incarnate stuff or not, I know they've talked about it and players want it.

Most of that's covered in the wiki, but you might have to read a bit to figure it out. ^_^
