  2. Once again real life conspires against me.

I swear I will make it to one sometime soon. Many apologies.
  3. I reckon it comes down to developer time adapting costume sets to fit all types of skeleton. Should the devs spend time making sure that the Witch Lace costume bits fit a male or huge skeleton? Probably not as it would likely only be a limited amount of players that would use an option like that.

However, that said, I would absolutely love to see tattoos for women.

    A New Sidekick

Shadowe, Pix, I am very pleased for you both and I am certain that he will bring you absolute joy.

I can tell you that from my experience over the past two years, your time in game will diminish and if you're like me, you may spend your time playing with one ear tuned to listen for him waking up with a handy keybind to tell your team-mates that you're going afk because he's awake again.

Bright blessings and best wished for all three of you.

But no one and nothing explains the Merit Vendors. They just showed up, unexplained (in a lore sense) all over Paragon and the RI. For them to be ugly on top of it just makes them feel, overall, like someone didn't care and/or was rushed to get them in.

    And that bugs me.
I absolutely agree. They stink of a game mechanic just shoved in carelessly and that irritates me. I like there to be a story rationale for things even if it does create hideous monstrosities of stories such as evidenced by Powerset Proliferation and Mender Ramiel's arc.

The fact that Trainers and Shops in the Rogue Isles are Arbiters make perfect sense to me as they are meant to be untouchable so even the most dangerous villain wouldn't dare attack them. But the Vendors? To hell with them and their awful colour scheme too.

No, you're really not. They are an absolute eyesore.

However, I feel this relates to the fact that there is no lore or background to who the hell they are. Shopkeeper, yes. Quartermasters, yes. But some pillock in purple and yellow just standing around, rewarding heroes and villains for their endeavours? Who ARE YOU!!?? And why hasn't my villain kicked you to the floor and stolen all of your Luck of the Gambler + Recharges?

They're a nice idea but with poor imlementation. I would sincerely welcome a redesign for them along with some kind of rationale for their existence.

That's a fairly narrow view of what the manipulation of dark energies could be. One of my Dark Blast using characters is a deep sea creature who fires ink blasts at his foes and uses summoned tentacles and pressure effects to subdue his enemies. A screaming skull really doesn't fit.

And that's why powersets need to be generic. Because with power tinting, we can let our imaginations run riot and use sets that fit the look, coloured to fit the theme. I wouldn't mind the dark effects being looked at again because they can look horribly yuk when coloured.

However, I do agree on both Dark Armour and Energy Aura. With only a few armours running the effects reduce even the finest costume to a fuzzy blob.

I beg to differ. Anyone who goes from the end of Stolen Earth to The Eleventh Hour is going to be mightily confused. The 'movies' can be watched without the show but I don't think it'd work too well the other way round.
  9. You can have my tentacles when you prize them from my cold, undead hands. I've rolled entire characters based on how cool that power looks.

Agreed on the rest though. Shooting skulls just looks daft to me.

And thanks for the tip Father Xmas, I'll have to take a look, if only to see all the references.

    EDIT: Bah! Double post. :@

Good suggestion, thanks! I use it in Footstomp on my Stone/SS Tank and it's surprising how often it fires.

Eeek! Mention ye not the horror that is Toshwood. Or "Captain Jack's Throbbing Love Boat" as we call it in our household. Children of Earth was awesome but the rest of it can burn in the fires of development hell forever as far as I'm concerned.

Never seen the Sarah Jane Adventures but I'm not keen on the Whoniverse being 'kiddified'. I always thought Doctor Who trod a very good line between the young and the old. Still, can't judge till I've watched it.

And yes, the end of Season 2 is a heartbreaker. But nothing compared to what's to come.

    Dammit, I miss Tennant.
  14. Thanks, I think I will aim for damage. Once I've got some shards, I'll be aiming for the Spiritual Alpha to tighten up my attack chain a little more. Not sure how much it'll bring the recharge down but I've got plenty of other controls in my build I can use while it recharges.

If you do have a Frankenslotting suggestion, I'd still like to hear it. I'm not so hot when it comes to maxing out powers using that method.
  15. That's interesting. I thought it was a 100% chance, even if it was only Mag 2.

That makes my choice a lot more easy. Thank you.
  16. Hello everyone.

In respeccing my Sonic/Energy Blaster, I have been looking at the above power and wondering exactly how I should be slotting it for maximum effectiveness. In teams and solo, it's excellent mitigation and the stun, though small, stacks with all the others in my arsenal. However, I noticed that its damage is not insignificant and does more than my only other AoE, Howl.

My build is fairly set heavy and I don't Frankenslot much so my choice is between a full set of Stupefy for the stun or a full set of Positron's Blast. Any recommendations? Or how would you do it differently?

    Many thanks!
  17. As a festive touch, I normally always deck out my characters with something wintery for the season. This would just cap everything off.

    Pretty please?
  18. I liked him as an actor first and then warmed to him instantly as a director. It'll be a shame to lose him from the franchise.

Knowing our luck Marvel will bring in Brett Ratner for IM3...
  19. Okay, the best way to track them is by who's in them.

    Season 1

New Who starts with Christopher Eccleston and Billie Piper.

Xmas Special 2005 - The Christmas Invasion

David Tennant takes over from Eccleston, Billie Piper remains.

    Season 2

DT and BP carry on their adventures.

Xmas Special 2006 - The Runaway Bride

One off adventure with David Tennant and Catherine Tate (who would go on to become a full time companion later on). Fun trivia point - look out for the villain who is 'Empress of 'Rachnoss.

    Season 3

David Tennant continues his run with new companion Freema Agyeman.

    Charity Special - Time Crash

Fun, one off ten minute episode seeing David Tennant's Doctor come face to face with his previous incarnation played by Peter Davidson. Unavailable on DVD but can be found in full on Youtube. EDIT: Found it! - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=szuP0oBZX4g

Xmas Special 2007 - Voyage of the Damned

Terrible movie episode with Kylie Minogue as temporary companion.

    Season 4

David Tennant teams up with new companion Catherine Tate.

Xmas Special 2008 - The Next Doctor

Easter Special 2009 - Planet of the Dead

Autumn Special 2009 - The Waters of Mars

Xmas Special 2009 - The End of Time: Part 1

New Years Special 2009 - The End of Time: Part 2

    Season 5

David Tennant hands over to Matt Smith with Karen Gillan as the new companion. New writing team takes over as well.

Blimey, I can't believe I wrote all that...

There's also a handy episode guide on the IMDB:

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0436992/episodes

As noted, all the specials are movie length so get miscategorised sometimes. There are also normally a couple of 2-parters in each season which can get lumped together to make a film length production.
  20. Not sure if this thread will be of any help to you, even if it did get hijacked by Unionverse issues. Maybe it'll help with some ideas though:

  21. I'll raise my hand as being a roleplayer who doesn't necessarily fair so well at social RP but loves IC missioning, TFs and events. So count me in for IC activity goodness.

I shall stumble blindly into the channel tonight, ill prepared!
  22. With my Fire3, I'm not thinking about replacing any slots as I expect I'll be exemping below 50 fairly regularly so for me, it's a question of what can the Alpha slot add to my current build rather than what can I replace. And for me, it comes down to Endurance or Recharge.

Fire3 is Endurance heavy but I've already got an End friendly build and I have Consume that's up fairly regularly. So I expect that I will go Spiritual instead as that will enhance how much Fiery goodness I can pump out but also enhance the recharge of Consume so it's up more often.

As has been said, the Alpha slot is not that much for Blasters as we have limited secondary effects. I think the only one that's going to get much out of it is me Sonic/En/En.

Too bad we can't fight them in Praetoria....yet.
Almost correct. The DE may look natural but their adgenda is to make over the Earth in their own image. They're the force of a corrupt scientist with his own objectives, masquerading as eco-terrorists. And although they want to 'save the planet' it's only to change it to their way of life, not to restore it to nature. They're not really natural at all.

I like them a lot because it's as if someone took my own ecological beliefs and twisted them into villainy. One of my main characters is a recovered victim who now fights against them. Therefore, they feature in my favourite enemy groups.

I also love the Vahzilok, there's something about them that screams 80s body horror. I'd love to see an Elite Boss or Giant Monster that has three heads and 18 arms, all stitched together from the doctor's victims.

The Trolls I like too, mostly because the reason for their addiction is never made clear outside of history badges. I'd love to see one of the experts on multi-dimensions be a recovered Superadine addict.

CoT are good but I'd like to see more Hordelings and other supernatural beasties, especially blue side. Surely there's other nasty monsters down there?

I know, I just think it might be handy especially if it came with an official response on it. Because then the next time says 'prove it' about a rebuttal, no-one needs to trawl through 100 threads to find the Dev comment.

Anyway, it might help. I hope.
  25. This might seem like a waste of time to some people (people will still post regardless I'm sure) but a Frequently Suggested Ideas Sticky at the top of this forum is something I've thought about for a while now. I see the same old suggestions coming up over and over again and it might be useful to have a list of ideas stickied followed by an official response to them (written by the Devs or the Community Co-ordinators).

Sure, people can (and should search) but having a central list of the most common ideas posted up here with the reasons why they're not going to or cannot happen might at least cut down on some of the common requests.
