Union: Global IC Events?

Dear Fellow Unionites

Here I was thinking about how little roleplay there is that isn't social or for the few members of a plot and/or supergroup. So, while talking to a number of other like minded people, I thought that we could perhaps organise some larger events that grabbed as wide a variety of people as possible.

Yes I see that the Social Roleplay has it's place so I am not proposing that -all- Roleplay we should do is events and other such stuff but more a mixture, based upon what the people want, so perhaps an event every so often like every 3 or 4 months perhaps.

Now the range of events could go from something as simple as a single Giant Monster battle to an IC Mothership Raid (Which has been done before!) to spawning Kronos Titans in City Zones so that a force of heroes has to join together to combat such an event. Perhaps even a little bit of IC PvP too, besides the Gladiators event. Willing to take suggestions on this, but if any of you want to complain about taking part, easy enough your character can have other things as equally important or that are more important to their perspective. But to deal with the aftermath? Well, you don't -have- to know of it off the bat, for if your character is somewhere else - say another dimension - when the event happens, then they could quite of easily of missed it and thus it only impinges on them marginally and that's if anyone even mentions it.

The first event I'm thinking of getting going is a mass Kronos Titan attack in a zone, will need to test, but hopefully Peregrine.

I don't think I really have any objections to you doing this, because it's quite simple to ignore. You seem very much to be aiming for doing some IC missions, really, which happen all the time and if that's your bag, more power to your elbow. (Except in fairly good circumstances, I find IC missions fail to work well, but that's my problem and it's not like I don't do them.)

Your title seems to suggest something grander, but an IC Mothership Raid is hardly a global or uncommon occurrance. *shrug*

The idea of spawning this in PI is probably acceptable. If you do it in lower level zones that Founders (which it regularly spawns in) you risk being reported for griefing. In fact, considering that it was considered griefing to pull GMs over to PI mainland, I'd be very careful about regularly spawning the Titan anywhere on purpose.

What aftermath? The Rikti drop nukes all over the city and there's no aftermath. The Kronos Titan regularly marches over FF, hell, three Paladins march around King's without leaving a scratch. Those not wishing to worry about it are highly unlikely to contact those who care, so there's no need to worry.

Please, if you want to do things like this, obey server rules, post for people to join up, and enjoy yourselves. Don't worry about the people who don't want to take part.

I think I have a few plans to toss in here, as already mentioned. Especially one detailing investigation, a shot at redemption and blasts from the past

It was quite fun.

Birdie, that sentence wasn't snarky. I know there are people out there that, quite frankly, like to hide and whine, and no I'm not talking -just- Mothership Raids nor just IC Missions (though they will be in there, preferably multiple parallel sets) I'm talking trying to get as much of the community - as I can - doing something.

Anyway, yes Omy that's what I was referring too, so if you wouldn't mind I'd quite like some help, even if you just send me the logs of the briefing. Correct me if I'm wrong but during my time I've only seen news about two or three (at most) IC Mothership raids, yes RP'ers take part but not on the sort of scale I'd be hoping for, and also, isn't it said that we should try and keep it grounded and in a state of constant repair?

As for Techbot, any ideas are welcome as you know. I mean, it'd be hard enough organising one event let alone a few, without assistance.

And to return full circle, I'm sorry you feel that way Birdie, but please do try to, not nesercerily beat around the bush, but don't seem so aggressive. It struck me, at first read, that you were attacking, but after some iddle chitchat and a re-read I realised you were just being about as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face. And just to clarify: This thread was just to gauge interest and get ideas, I should of made that clearer, I feel.

I've got no logs to send I'm afraid Random, but I can go through how I pulled it off.

Step One: Poke everyone I know, and OOC channels to see who'd be interested abotua week ro two in advance, and settle on the day that msot can make it.

Step Two: Assemble in the Vanguard breifing room and then just give whatever style breifing you want to, in mine I jsut gave an overview of the raid objectives.

Step Three: ???

Step Four: Enjoy the RP as everyone winds down after a sucessful raid.

Yeah this actually sounds like an awesome idea, i have a hero who regularly listens to the radio and responds to threats as they come so it isnt at all implausible that he would show up.
Count me in anytime.
