My water blast character is pretty specific, but here is a link to where I posted it in the costume thread along with a brief description: http://boards.cityofheroes.com/showp...ostcount=11173

Shifting Sand
Water/Dark blaster with sand-colored powers and the Smoky aura also sand-colored. Costume looks like an Egyptian mummy. -
Thanks Aurora_Girl, that's what I was looking for. I guess I'll hit up the Market tonight and see how many procs my stipend can get me.

Despite having played a Plant/Storm controller to 50, I consider myself a complete controller noob.
I started a Dark/Dark controller a while back that stalled at 22, but I'm trying to pick it up again. Is it possible to play this combination as a so-called splatroller while leveling? I doubt it, but I figured I would ask those with more knowledge and experience than me.
If not, would anyone be willing to share some playstyle tips. I'm at the level where I feel like I have a lot of tools, but I'm not sure the best way to use them. Being a melee player at heart, I'm used to half of my powers being armor toggles.
Thanks for any help. -
Quote:Thanks!Purple sets are mostly for + recharge
Grab Weave, maneuvers, combat jumping
Slot steadfast +3, Gald +3, kinetic combats, reactive armors, obliteration, 2 taunt sets to work with and brute fury ATO at superior can be split up in 2 separate powers giving you +10 S/L - There are some others but those above usually will work
I'm still a bit of a novice when it comes to designing builds apparently. -
Those of you that have soft capped M/S/L, are you reaching that using purple sets?
I was working on a build last night, but wasn't able to get over 30% or so. -
I don't have any experience with VEATs and forgot all about them. Aren't they forced to start in the Isles? They've always sounded intriguing, but a bit intimidating to build.
DB/WP Stalker is what I'm leaning towards for this particular character, but it's not too late for me to reroll as a Scrapper. What is the general consensus on Dual Blades when it comes to Scrapper vs. Stalker? -
I didn't think about claws, but the single blades could work well for my concept. I think I'll roll one of each and see how I like them. Thank you all for the suggestions.

I have a character concept that I'm working on, but I'm having trouble pinning down the powerset and AT. I am hoping that someone can help me come to a decision. I understand that this is a very subjective question and there is not best or right combination.
I know that I want one of the quick weapon sets (katana or dual blades) and I would like to pair it with one of the natural looking secondaries. That's as far as I've made it. I tend to prefer scrappers or brutes, but would be willing to try a stalker since they've been changed.
If it affects the recommendations, I play solo PvE exclusively and don't play after hitting level 50. Because of that I would prefer something that doesn't bloom late or requires a lot of purple sets or incarnate powers.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions. -
I'm a complete mastermind newb, but I bought Beast Mastery and am having fun so far with my level 27 Beast/FF. I am looking at my future picks and thinking about what to take and was wondering if these powers are considered powerful enough to spend picks and slots on. I haven't settled on any particular ancillary pool because none are particularly thematic.
As a little background I am a scrapper/brute at heart so I'm not good at standing back and watching without contributing some damage. I have taken all of the attacks from my primary as I have read they are useful in building pack mentality. I would prefer to stay hero only instead of switching to villain for the patron pools. I also play strictly solo PvE if it makes a difference.
So are any of the ancillary pool attacks worth taking and if so is one preferable to others?
Thanks in advance. -

That's disappointing, but thanks for the replies.
It seems odd that they wouldn't do the same thing they did with the Christmas pieces. I'm glad to have the Roman pieces at least. -
Am I remembering correctly that these pieces will be available at some point from the market, or is it just wishful thinking on my part?
-
I was just coming to ask about Energy Aura, so I might as well put my question here.
Is it viable without using the invisibility toggle? I would prefer to see my character, but I don't want to gimp myself to do so. Also, does it pair well with Kinetic Melee? I am considering rerolling a KM/INV as a KM/EA.
Thanks for any help. -
I, too, have gone the route of crafting the revolver for use on thematically appropriate characters.
I would be willing to accept the compromise of having additional craftable powers (i.e. a shotgun, machine gun, etc.) which would be balanced by not being able to enhance them.
I do wish they would allow you to stack multiple copies of the same temp power instead of remaking it every 50 charges, but I'm sure there are technical limitations to it. -
I love the Roman costume pieces and they work quite well for many of my character concepts. I rarely find myself with the opportunity to run the ITF, however.
I wonder if the powers that be would consider selling them on the market as they did for the Vanguard pieces. It would be nice to be able to use them from creation instead of waiting until late in one's career to use them. -
I just ran into this same bug, but with a hero.
-
I would say Face 14, especially with a few slider tweaks
-
I named mine Saguaro Blossom after the cactus and used a western/cowgirl theme in an appropriate color scheme. Sorry I don't have a picture.

Here, I'll make it easy.
"The city council and mayoral elections of 1936 swept a platform of pro-hero candidates that resulted in the passage of the Citizen Crime Fighting Act of 1937. This law made it legal for vigilantes to bring criminals to justice as long as they followed the same restrictions police officers use."

I'm pretty sure police officers are permitted to use their weapons to kill in self defense.

Actually known as, deadly force.

Yeah. That's the term I was looking for. -

I don't think that is a snake biting its tail. If you look at the head, it seems to have an ear. I would guess it is a lion. -
I believe they are adding an additional train station in Skyway as well, if you wanted to do that zone.
