Melee Powerset and AT Suggestion

I have a character concept that I'm working on, but I'm having trouble pinning down the powerset and AT. I am hoping that someone can help me come to a decision. I understand that this is a very subjective question and there is not best or right combination.

I know that I want one of the quick weapon sets (katana or dual blades) and I would like to pair it with one of the natural looking secondaries. That's as far as I've made it. I tend to prefer scrappers or brutes, but would be willing to try a stalker since they've been changed.

If it affects the recommendations, I play solo PvE exclusively and don't play after hitting level 50. Because of that I would prefer something that doesn't bloom late or requires a lot of purple sets or incarnate powers.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Claws/Willpower Scrapper my friend. You can put Chance for Build Up procs into Follow Up and Focus and proceed to rip faces without worrying about clicky heals or redraw.

Unpredictable fun for all the family! Don't forget your jabs before handling the Scrapper.

I am the Blaster, I have filled the role of Tank, Controller and Defender
Sometimes all at once.
Union EU player! Pip pip, tally ho, top hats and tea etc etc

Staff/EA stalker.

Can scrap like an old school scrapper, and do sneeky stuff too.

I really should do something about this signature.

I'd suggest a Dual Blades/Willpower stalker.

I didn't think about claws, but the single blades could work well for my concept. I think I'll roll one of each and see how I like them. Thank you all for the suggestions.

I agree with DB/WP, but I don't know how it works on a stalker and would always suggest a scrapper anyway.

Both sets are pretty solid at all levels, and DB's combo's do knockdown, which compliments the regen in WP nicely.

How about a Night Widow? First 24 lvls before the forced respec can be a bit tedious, but as soon as you can choose the Night Widow tree it becomes a lot more interesting. Also, you can have softcapped defences early on (mine had it at lvl 35, but if you're willing to sarcifice more slots to defence instead of offence you can probably be softcapped somewhere around lvl 30.

The blades have all textures claws characters have available, so there's enough choice in that department. The only non-natural looking power is Mind Link, but you will only be using that once every 90 seconds at most.

I think level 24 probably counts as late blooming. And probably falls outside of 'natural secondary'.

"Teamwork" doesn't qualify as natural?

FUN FACT: That burst of light when you level up is actually the effectiveness escaping from your enhancements all at once.

I don't have any experience with VEATs and forgot all about them. Aren't they forced to start in the Isles? They've always sounded intriguing, but a bit intimidating to build.

DB/WP Stalker is what I'm leaning towards for this particular character, but it's not too late for me to reroll as a Scrapper. What is the general consensus on Dual Blades when it comes to Scrapper vs. Stalker?

Well, their origin is natural, and their inherent can only be described as natural.
Conditioning:"Soldiers of Arachnos undergo intense physical training before leaving "boot camp." Those that survive have greater than average healing rates and tire less quickly than others."
I don't know if Danaid means natural as in the source of the powers, or as in how they look, but on both points (Widow)Teamwork scores well, no particular intrusive graphics/aura's, and most of the powers can be traced back to rigourous training.

As for kinda late blooming, before lvl 24 you can still have a lot of fun, but you only unlock the full potential when you choose one of the branches.

You're forced to start as a villain, but as soon as you can get tip missions you can switch over. The SoA storyarc isn't that interesting that it captivates you and forces you to stay in the isles.

I vote for DB/WP Scrapper, easy and fun with only SOs.

Not when you count powers like Mind Link, which is a key power.

Unfortuantely I don't know how it plays on Stalkers, but I prefer scrapper in general so would recommend that.

The big plus for a Stalker is that you will get a clicky heal instead of RttC, but you are sacrificing AoE to get there and for me the fun about DB is the combo's which I think work better on a Scrapper (I love all the KD!).
