I used to be French. I got better.

Rule of 8.
Out of every 8 players in a team:
1 will be a kid.
1 will be stupid.
2 will be vets.
2 will be newer players.
2 will be silent. -
I run minimal and still get this FPS slagfest in the warehouse, on the trails and a few of the newer locations.
It hardly ever happens anywhere else. -

I've seen pay-to-win. Silly Run is not pay-to-win.
"Wow. That was a close call on the Lambda Trial, eh?"
"Good thing that guy busted out Ninja Run." -
I think worrying about what might happen 5 months from now is far less productive than doing something today.

City of Sandbox.
Create your own server world. Retcon everything. Create the layout, the TFs, the ATs. Add and remove powers.
Think AE, but for the whole game world.
Impractical? Probably. But technology will one day allow for the player created MMO if a company ever makes a point and click friendly open source world creator. -
Great ideas in here. Great ideas!
And I'd love to see badges for soloing the core TFs! -
When they open LFG up to all TFs and SFs, people will use it for the WST.

Quote:"Join Queue" "Rejoin League"I think once the launch goes there is a 60 second timer, if you don't click the green button in that time you are kicked from the league and the rest go. What you are seeing may not be people hitting the red but being auto kicked because they were AFK when the launch went.
When I have run leagues I have received tells from them trying to get back in but have yet to find a way once we launch. Anyone else know a way they can rejoin? -
Quote:Runs I've been on, we'd better have all ten. Our fearless leader yells in League until he gets them. It's awesome.thoughts ...
I have run many BAFs as team lead and as a player and have never had one where we have enough acid to close the doors. Even when we get all 10 we end up with 7-8.
Now this could be that players have them and just don't notice for sure, but given the amount of times this happens I am wondering if something else is going on.
Is it possible that a player on the acid team who is defeated or in the hospital at the time of a container destruction gets selected for acid but can not receive it and thus none gets awarded?
I think you can write this off to player ignorance. They look at their trays and think... hmmmm... not me. Or they drag, drop and miss. The power is still under the poers tab (I've personally done this.) Mix 16 people from all different backgrounds and age groups, there will always be a few who still don't get it unless the leader hits all caps. -
I want this implemented as a new feature. "Random Team". Complete with the ability for an entire League to drop by. I'd always have my flag set to random.

I for one welcome Robocop to the game with semi open arms.

Quote:You don't know how many players you play with think you're special. They'll rarely say it, but if you do your job well, they certainly think it. I know when I see someone working it, I think they're special.I have been playing CoX for several years now. I love the game and this is not a rant.
I have lots of friends in the game both pve and pvp. And I love to hang out with them in game doing various teaming and pvp.
But by far the most fun I have is when I join Pugs (pick up groups). I love meeting the awesome and sometimes truly weird people of CoX. I do not roleplay but roleplayers crack me up I could eavesdrop on them all day.
But the absolutely best thing about pugs for me is that i can show off with my uber build. I love being able to make people say wow. I am not conceited but I guess I like to use the game to stroke my ego. This for me, is the escapism I derive from the game.
Now however with incarnate powers everyone can be impressive and bad-***. I am happy everyone is getting stronger.
But I guess I am just mourning the loss of feeling special amidst the throng of incarnate AoE's and Dot's.
Thanks for letting me vent I love you guys.
Many many times, I'll take a second to scroll all the way out, position and see how everyone is doing. Usually, if things are going poorly, there's one dude hammering away to make up for it. I'm impressed. When things are rolling, there's usually one dude doing something no one quite catches that's making things super easy. I'm impressed.
Every so often, I see something way the heck out there that is soooo cool, it merits a mention in Team. But we are all so busy, most times it's a quick, nice work Player.
I honestly have seen with the new incarnate powers it's easier to tell who has NO CLUE what they're doing, and who's rocking everything at once, holding down the fort to make up for mistakes. BAF doors for example. That player who's on a door with one other dude and not asking for help? Yep. That one. I see it, run by with a sigh of relief, and help the six player team leaking enemies because no one knows how to run it.
I think the special players will start to stand out more as content requires more of players.
A great player with great tools will outshine an avaerage player with great tools.
It's not the powers that make us super. It's not the build. Those give you the tools. Using those tools well is all in the brain, hands and (sometimes) feet. -
*sings* Here comes the horse! Here comes the horse!

True. Broad generalizations get me every time. Sometimes it seems I'm earning inf just standing around these days! But not the case for everyone, I know.

My entire teaming career is filled with embarassments like this. I have "Sorry." on bind.

It's about how many runs you can catch. If it's slow and unlikely that people will piggy back for a second, third, forth run... kill all. If it's the revolving door league like I always seem to get in with trials starting every half hour, speed run for the merits and salvage.
Either way is viable. One is quicker, but less likely.
Had a guy chirping on a BAF the other day. Wanted us to slow down and kill all. We were rolling this trail over and over pretty quick. He kept telling us kill more mobs, wait for more ambushes... blah blah blah. Why? He was not going to convert any of his salvage or merits for iXP.
Let's see.
If we focus on unlocking all the slots through conversion of merits and salvage.... we can have all four open in 6 to 7 runs max. I know this because I have all 4 unlocked and have only done 7 runs. I even have three slotted. He had two unlocked and slotted and never got he's third and 4th unlocked while we jammed this out. Who came out ahead? He said he'd been trying for days to get everything unlocked. I did it in 5 hours and almost had all slotted too.
Don't sweat the math. Practical experience shows the speed run is king. Anyone who disagrees is hoarding salvage and strictly working off of mob iXP. -
I am a casual player. I play about 10 hours a week tops.
I play a lot early in the day East Coast Time.
I am a notoriously bad player. I frequently have the highest amount of deaths on most task forces.
I like to solo.
And even I can unlock all 5 slots and drop an enhancement in each. Even I can survive a trial. Even I get on Trial Leagues.
I've invested 5 hours total on these trials over two weeks and that's where I'm at.
Casual Players can do this.
I've been on one failed Lambda and zero failed BAFs. The BAFs take 30 minutes each and are much less mind numbing than ITF shard runs.
It's not that bad people. You don't even have to enjoy it. It's so easy and time friendly.
If you just flat out don't ever ever ever want to join a trial, fine. BUT...
You don't have to run them over and over again. I've run 7 total. Everything's unlocked and slotted.
They are not hard. I''m 6 for 7 and I suck.
They are not time consuming. It took me longer to unlock and slot my Alpha then all FOUR of my i20 slots.
I'm not opposed to other options at all. But for now, this is a super easy casual experience. You'd have to be seriously team phobic to not do these trials a few times just to get the unlocks and rewards.
I'd love to see another path, but even with my severe time limitations and lack of game prowess I can handle this. I'm pretty sure the rest of you can too. Until there's another option. -

Have AVs and GMs drop threads for any player with a slot open.
Lose shards entirely and have threads drop instead. Make Alpha junk cost threads now. Still allow conversion of old shards.
