random issues or a new way to grieve?
I suppose it's possible some people out there think they're being really funny by making sure a BAF is one short.
But if that's the case, the league probably isn't missing much by them not being there.
On the plus side, if someone declines to enter it, it leaves room for someone using the LFG set to "join events in progress" to get in on one. I'd rather have the guy using the LFG than the guy who thought he was griefing us any day. The LFG guy wil actually try to contribute because using the LFG alone is proof that he actually wants to run the trial.

Yes it's possible. This reminds me of a RL experience with griefers. There used to be a game store near my hometown that had a network of computers for us gamers to use and there were two twits that would come in, sit next to each other, and giggle and plot how they could screw with people depending on what game they were playing.
They got angry at the gamers in the store because we quickly adopted the tactic of only teaming with each other and refused to invite them to anything. They stopped showing up shortly after that because to them it wasn't worth paying for computer time if they couldn't see people getting bent out of shape at their antics.
I think once the launch goes there is a 60 second timer, if you don't click the green button in that time you are kicked from the league and the rest go. What you are seeing may not be people hitting the red but being auto kicked because they were AFK when the launch went.
When I have run leagues I have received tells from them trying to get back in but have yet to find a way once we launch. Anyone else know a way they can rejoin?

Someone in one of my global channels once claimed they didn't get a prompt at all, the rest of the league just disappered. It wouldn't surprise me at all if there's an underreported bug preventing some people from joining trials.

Still you have to wonder is it possible someone out there, or more than just ONE someone, is actually joining leagues and waiting till they are in the Q to quit so they wind up one player short inside? Are there people with THAT much time on their hands? With nothing better to do than sit around for say 20 minutes just so they can quit your team as you enter the mission? And are they really that dumb that they think 23 people can't handle a BAF just as well as 24?

From my end, I got on looking for a BAF, entered the LFG queue. Saw chatter in the TF channel, figured joining would beat waiting for the queue. Joined, went to S55, and waited a decent amount of time until the league reached 24. Ran the trial, got badges, everything going great.
Figure I'd stick around for the next go-around. I wait, and wait. Hrm, getting late...and the kids are still up. Maybe I can get them in bed while we wait. Check the league. Ok. Check the kids...not yet ready. Downstairs, league still ok. Kids...ah, one has to poop. League still ok. Kids finally get in bed. Oh, someone needs to tell me what spooky happened in one of the Harry Potter books...ok sure, maybe that didn't take too long. *SIGH*, league went in while I was away.
I'm guessing there was maybe a good 20 minutes between when the first trial ended and when the next one started. Had I known that, I probably would have exited the league right after the first trial. But probably a good 16-18 folks looked like they were sticking around, and I figured we'd roll right into the next one. Wasn't the case, as people left, more came, and things didn't go until ALL 24 were filled. I just happened to miss when that happened.
If the trials can go off just as easily with 23 as 24...why do the leaders wait for that long making sure they fill out the whole 24?

I'll admit to accidentally declining a trial on the first day of i20. I had gone to Pocket D looking for a trial. The league got formed and suddenly there were these buttons on my screen. I had no idea what the buttons were or why they were there. I figured that I had accidentally clicked on something.
I just wanted to run a trial, so I clicked the red button and waited for a mission door to appear. Boy was I surprised when everyone else teleported away!
My expectation was that the trial would begin with the leader talking to a contact and a mission door appearing somewhere nearby.

I have reason to believe the rule of "the one" is untrue. The prompt disappears before one minute could possibly have passed, without the number ever reaching "16 of 16" or "24 of 24", but we still end up with everyone inside. :P
the new way to grieve people is buying all the demonic blood samples. Putting one on the market and wracking it up to 60 Mill.
Thats grieving.
Otherwise...your point is grieving also. I just needed to rant

"So come and get me! I'll be waiting for ye, with a whiff of the old brimstone. I'm a grim bloody fable, with an unhappy bloody end!" Demoman, TF2
PS; "grieve" is "to feed sad". This doesn't happen very often in games; people generally play games to have fun.
The word you are looking for is "grief", which is a coopted term that, in gaming, means "doing something to screw up others' plans" (it has a wide, far-reaching application).

I just want as many people as possible to get in the trial and get their stuffs. It's not that I'm waiting for the league to fill so we win, just that I want to take everyone that wants to go that I can.

Ok, good reason.

I had that happen to me once. It was in the RWZ and particularly laggy that day. The leader even announced he'd set the Q but I Never saw a prompt and then POOF the entire league except for me was just gone! I still join teams out of there on occassion but usually look for stuff in Cimerora or even Studio 55 where the lag is minimal. The RWZ is the prime spot to host these things with access to a store, inspirations, crafting tables and your base but during peak hours between multiple leagues forming, AE, LGTFs and even Mothership Raids (when they start just consider that particular zone full LOL) the lag can get awful and its time to look for alternative spots to form up.
Some one else asked about trying to rejoin the league by hitting LFG and re-entering the previous mission. I haven;t tried that but sort of doubt it would work. Players are using the league options to form Mothership raids, hamidon raid and even COP trials now so until the leader actually joins the Q and you get that invite do you really have a mission? Worth trying if it ever happens again but I have my doubts it would work.. AND I HOPE I AM WRONG

I was thinking about this earlier today after a BAF trial. It doesn't happen a lot but enough that it made me wonder.. Here is the situation.

A league forms up and after anywhere from 10 minutes to 20 or more there are 24 players ready to enter the Q and head inside. The Q menu pops up and you click yes and the countdown begins.
NOW I am not talking about the rule of one here LOL For some reason there always seems to be one guy that is AFK when you start. But every so often as the count down continues some one declines entering the Q and drops from the league. Chances are its just that forming the league took so long that now they don't have the time to commit or even that at the last second some friend came on and they left to join that buddies newly forming league.
Still you have to wonder is it possible someone out there, or more than just ONE someone, is actually joining leagues and waiting till they are in the Q to quit so they wind up one player short inside? Now let me clarify that this thread is done very VERY VERY much tongue in cheek That means I am not REAL serious about this and am sort of joking in case you don't know what tongue in cheek means. Still I have seen stranger things in game. So I ask you is it possible we have one lone slightly stupid griever that actually thinks he has ruined our day by sitting around in the RWZ with us for 15 minutes and then quiting just before we head inside to watch Mother Mayhem's cut scene for the 90th time LOL
