I would have preferred double XP, but given our current XP austerity measures, it's understandable they would dump their excess zombies on us instead. Zombies are cheap. XP is expensive.

I will be crafting my level shift/rare Alpha on day 1 of Issue 20, and will be getting additional Shards for more conversions by going through 50 levels worth of story arcs, so for me it's looking more like fun than grind. Your mileage will almost certainly vary, but it's nice we can each have our own fun.
I just wish the Inf costs would be increased. Yep. -
As for costumes, my two most-complimented-in-game ones (ie, my only complimented-in-game ones) are both pretty much just tights. Just your basic Golden-Age Tanker and Scrapper looks. With the current tendency for people to go overly ornate/complex with their looks, breaking it down to basics and making a strong statement about the character with a simple but distinctive costume is a good way to stand out.
But yes, new pieces are always welcome, with-Issue pieces even more-so.
Reflective tights being #1 on my personal wish-list. (Don't forget the reflective gloves, boots, and masks!) -
Me, too. Super Speed Melee FTW!
I'm not going to lie, I would roll Quarterstaff/SR in a heartbeat, but IMHO there's more than enough weapon sets in the game already. It's getting a bit too EverQuest in here, but there's room for polearms and Super Speed Melee in this game. CoH is just awesome like that. -
Fun Martial Arts fact: MA has the best DPA single-target attack available to Scrappers (Storm Kick).
Between BS and BA, if you're focusing on AOE at all, I think Axe has it. Single target I think BS. Martial Arts should have superior single target damage to both.
BTW, BS/SR and BA/SR will have better DPS than either BS/WP or BA/WP. But WP is a solid set if you want to play something different, and it's SR's sister set so it can't be bad (and it isn't).
I took out Trapdoor on my MA/SR Scrapper ignoring the bifurcations. The single target damage is very good. Set's better than most realize. It's a monster in the sub-20 game, and highly respectable in the late game. -

As a good Loyalist, that picture is very hot. I love my mommy!

Is this the earliest "doom" reference for the game?

I'm sorry you had a bad experience ViKtoricus. I highly recommend you read this guide on how to lead PuGs effectively. This guide's advice is invaluable.

How do I access the Incarnate options? In the previous version you would click on "Incarnate" but it's now a toggle and doesn't bring anything up?

Quote:This. The zones used to be interesting. You never knew who or what you might find from one time to the next (which is why I liked it over arena - a pickup game versus "organized team sports," if you will.) You could be worried about someone you spot, and win when you thought you'd lose. You could wind up with a really oddball combination of powers and ATs that works better than expected against the others in the zone. You could end up greatly outnumbered and still hold the zone. It was *fun.*
Now, it's dead.
I really liked zone PvP myself, but these days I don't bother with it. If there's ever a PvP 3.0 (and I hope there is), I'll check it out. -
Quote:QFTElude is not silly. I can do things on my perma-eluder /sr that soft cap junkies couldn't dream of. Most recently, I tanked the two warwalkers at the end of the Tin Mage TF by myself while the rest of my team killed the two AVs. 45% defense won't last long against that kind of to-hit.
Now granted, in most situations, perma-elude is a bit of overkill, but if you've got the money for it, why not give a go?
Softcap won't save you against Vengeance, Praetorian Devouring Earth (higher ToHit) or AE custom stupidity. Among other things.
Plus, it can mule the 3% Resist IO. -
Quote:Super Reflexes scaling resists don't have a Psi resist component. SR is 100% vulnerable to non-positional Psi. I believe the Widows do have it in their scaling resists, not sure.It depends.
Against Enemies with large amounts of non-positional Psi damage, the widow may do better due to good Psi resist, but it would have to be A LOT of it, enough to make the Widows HP+Psi res more relevant than the Scrappers HP+scaling. Maybe Rularuu Wisps at x8... I'm not sure.
I need to learn the exact numbers, but based on memory I believe the Widows have superior resist % in their scaling resists. I can remember the first time I played one I couldn't believe how high the scaling resists were going at even 50% health. Someone correct me on this if my perception here is faulty, but I do think a Widow at 50% health will have much higher scaling resist than a SR Scrapper at 50% health. -
It boggles the mind that anyone would be concerned about the inf costs. If you have that many Shards, I can guarantee you'll have more than enough inf, too. The costs are negligible!
Once again: if you ran enough content to get that many Shards, you'll have far more inf than required to convert them.

Actually, he forces most supers out of Praetoria. He maintains a few for his power base, but there are hundreds, even thousands of supers he just kicks out of his world.

And now for today's random roll!

Pacing of the Turtle: End/Rech/Slow (Recipe). V10,000
Expedient Reinforcement: End/Dam/Rech (Recipe). V10,000
Mako's Bite: Acc/End/Rech (Recipe). 6,755
Numina's Convalescence: +Recovery and +Regeneration (Recipe). 54,000,904
THIS ROLL: 54,527,664
TWENTY-ONE ROLL TOTAL: 1,375,886,171
TWENTY-ONE ROLL AVERAGE: 65,518,389
COMMENTARY: The Numina's saved the roll from being a complete loss. -

And now for today's random roll!
ROLL THE TWENTIETH:
Numina's Convalescence: +Recovery and +Regeneration (Recipe). 50,490,005
Scirocco's Dervish: Dam/Acc/End (Recipe). 900,005
Devastation: Dam/Rech (Recipe). 35,105
Lockdown: Acc/End/Rech/Hold (Recipe). V10,000
Gaussian's Synchronized Fire-Control*: Rech/End Reduction (Recipe). 27,000,005
THIS ROLL: 78,435,120
TWENTY ROLL TOTAL: 1,321,358,507
TWENTY ROLL AVERAGE: 66,067,925
COMMENTARY: A slightly above-average roll. I didn't realize the Gaussian's Rech/End was worth quite that much, but I suppose the fact it has Recharge makes it valuable. My 1 inf rule is definitely costing me a few million on each good recipe. I guesstimate I'd be 5%-10% higher than this total if I charged going rate instead of 1. Oh, well!
My estimate of what a random roll is worth as stated in the OP is proving pretty accurate so far. -
You have been included. In starship fuel tanks.
How does it feel to be the solution to the energy crisis? -
So I do a forum search for "full frontal" and this is what comes up. I am disappoint.
Pro tip: spin the camera around your character during Eagle's Claw's animation for a damage bonus. -
1. Revamp PvP.
2. Rework PToDs.
3. Add huge females. -
Or you can stop dancing to The Man's tune and follow me on the conversion path.

The thing I hated about Ninjitsu is all its clickies take away from your offense, and Knives of Artemis will own you up real good. Knives are custom-designed to kill Ninjitsu Stalkers. They give SR a tough time, too (all Stalkers, really), but SR has the tools to overcome them.
A few notes:
Don't take Aid Self! SR does not need it! Defense Inspirations shut almost all incoming damage down on SR. Taking too much damage? Use a purple and watch your HPs go back up in the middle of a spawn.
Think about skipping Hasten. With set bonuses and Quickness, you can get plenty of recharge without it.
Take the Fighting Pool. Tough stacks with your Scaling Resists for Smash/Lethal, and Weave gets you even closer to the softcap (and gives you a place for the 3% Def IO). Stalker SR is easy to softcap with Tough/3% Def IO, Weave, Maneuvers and Combat Jumping. That leaves all your set bonuses open for other things like Damage, HPs, regen, whatever.
You'll want to go a few % over the softcap because Stalker SR does not get 95% DDR (it gets something like 85% IIRC).
Ninjitsu gets all the press, but SR is one of the most solid Stalker secondaries you can roll.
