Fun Martial Arts fact: MA has the best DPA single-target attack available to Scrappers (Storm Kick).
Between BS and BA, if you're focusing on AOE at all, I think Axe has it. Single target I think BS. Martial Arts should have superior single target damage to both.
BTW, BS/SR and BA/SR will have better DPS than either BS/WP or BA/WP. But WP is a solid set if you want to play something different, and it's SR's sister set so it can't be bad (and it isn't).
I took out Trapdoor on my MA/SR Scrapper ignoring the bifurcations. The single target damage is very good. Set's better than most realize. It's a monster in the sub-20 game, and highly respectable in the late game.

Wow your MA/SR is much better than mine. After two or three bifurcations, I couldn't even move his health bar. Once I killed them all off, and kept them dead, it was easy though.
I'm down to trying to decide whether to go BS/ scrapper or BA/ brute on my next toon. I've never tried /WP, so that's where I'm heading on the secondary for this guy. I have a MA/SR, and I'm thinking there has to be higher DPS ST melee toons out there. Maybe it's just "grass is greener" syndrome, but it seems a lot of folks drop stuff faster than I do.
So, since I've settled on /WP, the choice is brute or scrapper, BA or BS? Aesthetically, I'm tending toward BS, but only by a smidgeon. Also, I've never played Katana, so I *might* consider that as well, but really looking for big ugly orange numbers and the sounds that do them justice.
