I will always reply as soon as I am able. I think its only common courtesy to do so.

Hit the nail here. -

Why do set bonuses give different types of defence?
[/ QUOTE ]
Probably to make it easier to stack defense. Typed def bonuses with typed def based sets, same stuff with positional defense.

How do I slot my tank for global defence not just cold, lethal, psi etc etc. :/
[/ QUOTE ]
Use sets with ranged/AoE/melee defense bonuses?
Also all sets (which give +def bonuses to begin with) now give both positional and typed. -
I find this very annoying as well and every one of the posts stating this problem my response has been similar.
There are next to no (I have never been in any) situations I can think of where you would not have the chance to send a tell. Hitting 4 or 5 keys (backspace + no/yes + enter) takes less than 1 second and this game is not tight with seconds.
It's just a bad habit not to answer a question. In real life (yeah, had to play that card) you're expected to answer something if someone asks you something. -
I dont mind ghosting in long or repetitive TFs (Synapse for example). I got time to do maybe 1 or 2 TFs a week which might be quite a lot, I dont know, but I've done all the TFs heroside so I'm not all that interested in doing the cloned missions most of them have.
Synapse as mentioned earlier is (IMO) one of the most self-repeating TFs. Basically every map is a warehouse with Clockwork, it's like grinding the same mission over and over and feels much like farming even though it isnt.
Someone already pointed it out that ghosting is not always the result of greed, but may also be caused by dull TF design. -

Isn't the +400% the +recharge cap?
That means that even with bazillion kinetics speedboosting you, the Recharge would be 200?
[/ QUOTE ]
Yes.
1000 / (1 + 4) = 200 -
Cant say that build looks bad but going that way would mean replacing most of my IO sets. Besides I quite like the build how I have it now (havent respec'd yet as I'm missing some IOs) and the build will only improve my current performance.

I find this power very situational. It's not a power you use too often but it's really nice to have when you're in a situation where you need to use it.
I must admit, though that in most situations inspirations can imitate the effect quite well. Dropping down to 0 End and 10% HP you will most likely end up kissing the floor. -
Twilight grasp spawns a very short duration pet around the caster (if you hit your target) that will then hit you and all friendly targets within a radius with the heal. Apparently it will also hit you with the proc as well for some reason.
Most things that spawn pseudo pets under the caster have procs bugged this way. -
I think this is actually quite a good idea. You could have something in the options to enable/disable the comment box so that those who dont want to tell what was wrong with the mission dont have to.
If the devs see a trend in the mission skipping (rescue 194 hostages in cave map, find 593 glowies or other such missions) they'd probably cut down on those missions in future arcs. -
Just as a piece of advice, it's not a good idea to post the exactly same topic in two different forum sections.

Pretty much anything combined with cold domination I'd think.

Sounds good. I've never been a friend of sets using -end as a form of mitigation, in fact I've never bothered to play any of them past the initial levels.
The mechanic is, as you said, completely borked in PvE. Mobs can cast just about any power with minimal endurance so you need to 1) have a reliable source of -end and a reliable source of -recovery or 2) be able to spam a reliable (not a 20% chance for) -end power every other second to keep the enemy from attacking.
Currently there's practically no reason to give up damage for the non-reliable and often useless -end mitigation. Why give up damage for that?
I'm up for anything to make those sets better. -
Spines/SR is probably quite nice now with elusivity.
I wouldnt bother with soft capping though due to how set bonuses and defence stacking scales down in PvP. Just go for +HP, +ACC, +RECH and +Regen. -
With dual builds I'd still consider three plenty. There was a time when we had to do with only 3 respecs. And there was no way to get more aside from freespecs and I think people did just fine.
Usually I dont even have to use respecs. Build 1 for leveling up and Build 2 for IOs. It's great! -
Welcome back!
And then into business. Devices vs other secondaries: I prefer other secondaries, they offer (usually) high damage melee attacks, utility and build up. I cant think of a secondary powerset that hasn't got at least two of the things I mentioned. Aim and BU +damage does stack but can easily hit the damage cap.
Fun is very subjective so it really is up to you.
About slotting powers, there's a new thing for this called Enhancement Diversification (ED). This basically means that once your power has had an attribute increased by 90% the effect of further enhancing is greatly diminished. Basically this means that using more than 3 of one type of generic IO or SO is a waste.
To give you an example:
Power 3 slotted with even level SOs: 94.3% increased attribute (category A enhancements)
Power 4 slotted with even level SOs: 98%'ish
The current norm in slotting (as opposed to that of pre-ED world) is 3 DAM, 1-2 ACC, 1-2 RECH, 1-2 END. If that isn't clear it basically means 3 DAM and a combination of ACC/END/RECH depending on your other powers. Characters with recovery boosting powers are able to skip the END slot while characters with RECH boosting powers are usually able to skip the RECH.
Set IOs make the whole thing a bit difficult, but I'm sure there's a nice guide into IOs somewhere in here.
About Hasten. As I mentioned before it would be a waste to slot this power with more than 3 RECH enhancements. The usual slotting of it is the 3 RECH which will make it available for 2 mins out of every 3. That's not too bad and considering there are a variety of options in set IOs to get global recharge bonuses you are actually still able to achieve perma-hasten pre-ED style. -
I can see your point. There used to be a time when I was always short of respecs, but then I learnt how powers worked and which ones of them had any synergy between each other.
After that my respec sessions have been scarce. -
1) Hard cap for tankers is 90%. There is no resistance soft cap due to the way resistance works. Although you could debate whether it is actually worthwhile to go from 85% res to 90% for instance, but that's another story...
2) Combined on your toon. You can have one power giving you 90% resistance or 9 powers giving you 10% resistance each.
3) Combat attributes. Open your Powers tab, then in the upper left corner of the popup window you should see Combat Attributes. Click it and open the resistance tab.
Also as a nitpick add, Invincibility adds to your defense, not resistance. -

Or do a respec trial, which is quicker than a lot of TF's anyways.

[/ QUOTE ]
Can only do it 3 times and many players used all their respecs :-)
[/ QUOTE ]
Wow, I cant even think of one of my characters that would not have a respec handy. Most of them have something between 2-4 unused respecs and most of them have only ever been respec'd once or twice. -
You could slot Quick Recovery with 3 of Efficacy Adaptor (or whatever the yellow lvl 50 endmod set is) for another 1.13% HP bonus. Or just 2 slot it. Cant remember if EndMod, EndMod/Rech, EndMod/Acc + 1.5% recovery actually beats 2x EndMod, EndMod/Rech.
Also 3 of titanium coating in resilience (Res, Res/End, Res/Rech) for 1.5% HP.
More to come once I have time to carefully look through it. -
I'd probably go for +Rech until at around 50% global bonus (enough for perma DP with hasten) and after that concentrate on +Regen bonuses.

Who gives a [censored]

It's the Internet after all so I'm not actually expecting even adequate punctuation or grammar most of the time. If I expected everyone to be able to use commas, full stops and paragraphs like they've been taught to at school, people would call me crazy! -

Hardly anyone speaks real l33t anymore, tis a dying art.
Mostly text speak now which always annoys me.
[/ QUOTE ]
Well whatever you call it, I find it damn annoying that people dont type whole words. It's not impossible by any means. Over the last 2 years I cant really remember a moment I wouldn't have had time to type complete sentences with *gasp* words instead of random (ok, ok, I know they're not random) letters. Combat situations included. -

There is a time and a place for swearing.
[/ QUOTE ]
Exactly. I find no real reason to do it in an online game though. I guess you could swear at someone playing bad (pulling extra mobs intendedly or whatever) or just being an idiot in general.
It's the same thing with l33t sp34k. It does not make you cool, it does not help get the message across. Conversely it just makes you seem dim-witted if you sprinkle all of your chat with swear/l33t.
I'm not even trying to make it seem like my own vocabulary is huge but I do know the difference between saying
"[censored] LR hits f***ing hard!!!"
and
"Ouch, he hits me for exorbitant amounts of damage" (which does usually become "Ouch, that hurt")
