Dropping missions - add a dialog box for comments

It surprises me that a dialog box doesn't pop up asking for comments when dropping missions. A brief comment detailing the reason for dropping the thing would be useful input for the devs. There's a reason people drop missions - inportant information I'd have thought.

Why do the devs need to know? I'd rather see the contact asking "Why do you not want to do this?" rather than ask the devs. Seems a bit pointless tbh.

Erm, because you're only supposed to drop missions if they are bugged, that was the point of it in the first place...

Seems pretty clear why then.

Ummmmmm...nothing tells me that it was intended for bugged missions. The dropping mission text tells that if it's bugged, you should contact Support.

Would be alot of comments from me saying "Cause i'm a lazy b**ch"

cossie slot mission? *auto complete*
do a silly see person part of an arc thats 10 miles away *auto complete*

Id like to see an option to thing on the mission quit box where you can tick a box to say the mission was bugged and a comment box attached to that so you can add more info, then that way you can quit and not tick the box so, it will be just like you quit because you wanted too. im guessing it would be alot to set up but it might be alot more helpful to the developers than being contacted later as they can pinpoint the mission right away, its a good idea i think, but to be useable it would take alot of work on the part of the developers

I reckon less than 5% of missions are dropped because they are bugged.

The Bug command is adiquate to deal with those, without wasting the time of the other 95%.

Still worth knowing why people don't want to complete missions though surely? If the majority of the people drop a particular mission for the same reason, that indicates something that the devs ought to be interested in, even if it's not a bug.

I drop missions if they get ridiculously frustrating. I had one to find 26 hostages in a massive conplicated CoT cave. 26 was just silly and I didn't want to be doing it all week, gave up after the first half dozen took 20 minutes.

Because they're the only ones who can do anything about it. If nearly everybody drops a particular mission, there's obviously something seriously wrong with it, they could make some changes.

The Devs (supposedly) want to make sure we enjoy the game. I know for certain Id love to see them cut out all the horrible, horrible hunt missions. Or at least cull of most of them. Tailor missions? -CULL- Contact suchandsuch mission? -CULL-
Feedback is 'taken into account' surely this should be some of it?

But we already know why people drop missions. It's because they're -could- get a team to help them find hostages/glowies/glowing hostages, or to defeat Nosferatu, yet they firmly believe this is City of Solo and do not do so.

That would be one of the last reasons I drop a mission...don't get where this comment is coming from...

These are pretty important from a story telling point of view, and are about the only thing that makes use of the shared environment, so I wouldn't want these cut.

What I would like to see for this type of mission is the game to check if you have the phone number of the contact you're being sent to see, and allowing you to use that instead of running to see them.

Ok, but in that case, I would like to see all contacts who shouldn't have a phone (cimmerorans, ghosts etc) never contactable by phone.

And as some of the missions are delivery missions, they shouldn't be phonable either.

The delivery missions at least have a point, even if they are rather dull. Its things like 'Go and see the PvP liason over the other side of the city'...WHY?! I dont even want to use that zone, I already know about it..tbh, if they want people to PvP they should 1) Fix it 2) Advertise it better.

I've given up on missions blueside for the moment, barring the Hollows arcs as they are 1) rewarding and 2) quite fun. After a certain lvl its more about teaming and doing other missions.

Anyway, /Signed for the OP. Would be nice to see a direct link for giving feedback to broken/boring/annoying things.

"Hello Skipper LeGrange, got any missions for me?"
"Thank Goodness you're here Hero! The Fir Bolg are performing a ritual that will ultimately push Salamanca into the ghost world. I need you to stand around, bored to tears for half a damn hour, swatting little groups of Fir Bolg that spawn and try to run into a doorway I need you to protect!"
"I've already done that mission."
"You've already done that mission."
"And these aren't the droids you're looking for."
"Those aren't the droids I'm looking for."
"And you're an idiot."
"I'm an idiot."

Pretty much how I use the 'drop mission' option. Bugs? Nah.

Just dropped one as a prime example where a dialog would be useful to the devs - maybe...

Was soloing my lvl 36 stalker, had to rescue Ghost Widow from some rampaging longbow. A longbow EB duly appeared. As soon as I saw that EB I ran for it and abandoned the mission. I didn't even bother to try soloing a level 40 EB.

Did I neglect to mention that Ghost Widow had stayed behind in the room I found her in and I was down to a sliver of health after one blast from that damn EB after the bubble he put me in wore off?

I think this is actually quite a good idea. You could have something in the options to enable/disable the comment box so that those who dont want to tell what was wrong with the mission dont have to.

If the devs see a trend in the mission skipping (rescue 194 hostages in cave map, find 593 glowies or other such missions) they'd probably cut down on those missions in future arcs.

So? You retreat, plan, preper, and either take out the EB or avoid it.

Reason for dropping mission: it was challenging.

They wouldn't have the time to study the feadback.

Alternatively: the devs where to busy studying the feedback to create any new missions.

There is a slight difference between 'Challenging' I.e the ITF TF. And Impossible. Such as when I had to face an AV on a solo mish. Lowered the diff? Still AV.
I couldnt get a team at the time, so I left it. In the end out-lvled it, but still an AV. Dropped it.

Impossible does not = fun
