    When the Tank is taking significantly more damage than they normally do, or when extra mobs are pulled, or when you feel like doing something different for a little bit...just because you can. Granted, you're still going to throw your blasts around, but taking a few seconds to Shiver a group and then run in next to the Tank to drop Ice Patch then run to the extra group aggroed by the absent-minded Scrapper* and dropping Frozen Aura before going back into DPS mode can, and will, make a big difference when things go south.

    *Because we know Blasters never pull extra aggro.
  2. Ice/Ice/Elec is my baby, it excels in every situation I have encountered. Great damage, great control, great survivability. I also really enjoy my Elec/Nrg as it is a completely different play style and allows me a more 'hands on' approach to any given situation.

    For the Expansion, I think I would focus on all new power sets while leaving the proliferation for the individual Issues. As such I would look at Pistols*, Staves, possibly an elemental Mastermind set (though I would prefer a group of sets, one per element) with accompanying Secondaries, fully-fledged water-themed sets.

    I also wouldn't mind seeing a new AT or two as there are still a few combinations that could be a good amount of fun. I wouldn't mind seeing an AT that had the ability to enable exclusive toggles that modified the effects of their attacks (eg: Different 'poisons' to add Toxic DoT, Confuse, Sleep, etc. to your attacks).

    *While we have 3 attacks at the moment, 5 more abilities in the set (+Aim) would justify it as a new set and not a proliferated set.
  4. While the concept is indeed cool, and I'd probably roll one up in a heartbeat, the redraw animation would almost be a deal-breaker for me. However, if there was a way to set a flag on the sets that says if Primary = Dual Pistols and Secondary = Blade Melee then use animation sets B over animation sets A. This could allow for 1 pistol (left hand) and 1 blade (right hand) and eliminate redraw as both weapons could be out at the same time. Granted, insert standard code rant here as I have no idea how difficult a change like that would be, nor can I say if having 2 different sets of animations for 2 powersets would be worth the time invested. I think it would look better and flow better, but I don't know the resources required.

    Arcs involving, torture, [censored] (of any gender) necrophilia, or any deviant behavior or crimes more serious than a willingness to kill(In the abstract) and steal stuff.

    Any arcs which, through storyline or even misinterpretation of available information, might hint at this sort of behavior.

    If this was year 1, I would say anything with Ice in it. Ice wasn't even considered a Blaster set by other Blasters until around Issue 4.

    As for today, you'd be hard pressed to find a set that isn't played. I say grab something that suits your fancy and roll with it.

    Well, the Shadow Shard still has a ton of story to be told and, iirc, is tied directly into "the coming storm" (was it not Rularuu that sent the Shivans?). So, it would actually make sense to do some soft of revamp with the Shard as they start unfolding that story.

    I've heard a lot of speculation about Rularuu being involved in The Coming Storm, but have never seen any evidence to indicate he was. (Or that he had anything to do with the Shivans at all.)

    You may be correct. I just scoured ParagonWiki and could not find any link. I could have sworn there was a relation, but it is very possible I may be wrong.



    As for Fleeting's idea, I like it overall with one exception. As much as the devs hate redoing content, the Hero-side TFs need to be recreated using the now 5-mission formula. Much of the story that is given in the current TFs could easily be re-written into new story arcs available to both sides. To add onto that, I wouldn't mind seeing them overlap, storywise, where heroes are trying to do A, villains are trying to do B, and Rularuu is trying to do C, D, E, F, G, H, I and J.

    IIRC, there was mention that the things removed, like the snake eggs, would return after they got fixed.

  12. Sadly, no. It was during closed beta and I try not to take too many screens unless specifically asked to by the Devs. That way I'm not tempted to break NDA and share the pics with my friends that play CoX.

    From what I have gathered, the CoP was supposed to randomly choose between Ruladak and Lanaru to be the Aspect of Rularuu, but it was bugged.

    As for the actual Rularuu the Ravager, the tech to fight him is, last I inquired, not currently available. Heck, I'd just like to be able to fight the 3 currently available Aspects while Rularuu the Ravager is standing in the background, amused with your feeble efforts.

    On I14 Test I was able to hack in Rularuu the Ravager as a Contact. However, it proved to be impossible to use because 1) I couldn't find a spot to click on him that actually worked, and 2) he was bigger than the building (his torso was on the floor where the contact should be, his robe continued into the bottom floor and his head was above the rooftop...all three of him).

    Play a Rikti

    With the way the Rikti story is going, I could almost see a new expansion where players play as Rikti and, as they level, choose to side with the Restructurists or the Traditionalists. This would also open up a few new Rikti-themed City/Hazard Maps, many of which could be cross-faction. I was pondering such an idea a month or so back, but got side-tracked. Could prove interesting, but it would need a bit more to it, of course.
  15. While I mostly agree with Catwhorog, I do think that a 1000 Badges badge would be a good one to add, once that many are available to earn that is. It's a good round number. As for me, I'm at 397 on my main. Doubtful I'd ever get to 1000, but I think it deserves something.
  16. I'll have to agree with a few of the posters in this thread. I'd rather not see a CoH2, but rather just continue to evolve CoH. The only reason to seek a CoH2 is for dramatic changes to the core of the system to allow the developers more freedom to do what they do best. This would allow them to make it easier to add things in like toxic defense, damage reflection auras, throwable weapons, toggles that add/modify damage types, etc. Other than that, I'd just rather see slow improvements to the graphical engine (real-time lighting, improved vertex weighing for capes/cloth/hair, environmental effects, higher resolution textures, greater use of shaders, etc) while they take their time adding and improving other aspects of the gameplay, story and core engine.

    Since I tend to play many cold/ice based characters, this one bugs the heck out of me. My Blaster, Controller, Tanker and Dominator have many Slows and an Immobilize or two. Even after a year I have to think for a minute when I look at Snare Enhancements, "Immobilize or Slow, Slow or Immobilize...which one was it again?" I'll take a moment to mention Castle in the hopes that his physic powers pick up this Jedi mind trick.
  18. Overall concept, I like it. It's PvP, but on a personal level. The buff may need to be tweaked a bit, and I'm not sure how well certain ATs would fare vs the other (as we can see in some of the custom ArcEnt enemies).

    Just give it time. I'm sure the Devs are looking into some way to tone down the farming a bit. This just reminds me of the Winter Lord event early '05. People leveled faster than they could train, had no influence to buy any enhancements and had no idea how to play their character. It did hurt the game for a short while, but we were able to recover from it. Same thing will happen here.

    Well, I guess it's not bad that CoX is now available on Steam. There is a large number of people that use Steam and I think this is a good way to reach out to an audience that may otherwise not be inclined to play, or may not know of, CoX.

    I think this is what the OP is referring to. I got one for WoW for the short time I was playing.

    Personally, I think this is something NCSoft should look into, especially if they can link one authenticator to all of your NC accounts. It's completely optional, so people that don't want it don't need to get it. Those who do, will. Personally, I would probably get one. Even though I keep my home network very clean and quite secure, it's just one more layer of security.

    Because the fortune is also inherited by pseudopets, the animation/sound plays (on the pseudopet) as well.

    It does? I'll have to pay a little more attention to it. I was in a group and heard it non-stop while we were running a few MA Arcs. It is quite possible that whomever had the power was spamming it all the time, but I only had the pop-up maybe 4 times during that entire time.

    Mission 1 has /Ninjitsu enemies who are Hiding. I'm still trying to balance these for the more squishy ATs, so any and all feedback here is welcome. The concept here is to make the burned down warehouse appear as if it is empty, but not overwhelm the player with impossible odds.

    Mission 5 has an Elite Boss.
