How about a few NEW badges for BADGES earned
Badges earned badges are to me a joke.
The actual in game count supplanted the need for them to help keep track a long time ago.
(Im at 660 on my main btw, in case that skews my perspective.)

@Mr Falkland Islands"A Nation Goes Rogue" Arc# 2369 "Toasters and Pop Tarts" Arc#116617
While I mostly agree with Catwhorog, I do think that a 1000 Badges badge would be a good one to add, once that many are available to earn that is. It's a good round number. As for me, I'm at 397 on my main. Doubtful I'd ever get to 1000, but I think it deserves something.

I think a badge for collecting 500 badges would be good. Then add a badges for 1000 badges when we get that many.
I agree with the 1000 badges idea once we got over 1000 badges...and would possibly consider signing on to the 500 badges idea.

I've actually never seen anyone on Virtue with more than 300. So, pardon me for thinking that these won't have a high collection rate.
Ten MEE-LEE-ON hit points. You'll certainly be quite a while getting that one.

Ummm yeah my main [and all my characters are on Virtue] has close to 360 and I have seem players with way over 500 .. and that WAS in Pocket D during the last Winter Event. Who knows how many she has now.
I always thought the EARLY ones for 25 and such were kind of silly.. "Hey I earned a badge for earning badges". But back in the day, boy that makes me sound old, 200 badges was a pretty big deal since there were only around 300 or less. NOW? 200 is a drop in the bucket so it seems strange that they'd award a badge for that but not go any higher. Hey whatever! Those serious Badge Hounds will go after anything. Give them a badge for 1000 badges and they WILL find a way to earn it. Even if they have to make badges up to get there LOL

There needs to be a badge for earning badges about badges earned!
<-- doesn't bother me either way. No idea what I have, badge wise, on any character.

Yeah where do they hide those silly badgers on Virtue *looks down at her own sig lines*
Anyway I've never really been a serious fan of those "badges for badges earned" type badges. They always seemed a little artificial/metagamey to me somehow even before things like Vet badges. Now-a-days there are a lot of reasons why they aren't all that significant anymore. For instance when I create new characters I get the first 2 automatically (for 10 and 25 badges respectively) and the 3rd one (for 50 badges) is only minutes away if I decide to collect a few Explore badges. *shrugs*
I could almost see a justification for maybe adding new ones at say the 500 and/or 1,000 badge marks. But to be perfectly honest if the Devs -never- add any new ones like that I wouldn't really mind all that much.

Ryver 50 Ele Blaster [1392 Badges]
Silandra 50 Peacebringer [1138 Badges] [No Redside Badges]

So I am NOT suggesting this because I personally am looking for another badge but I think if a player shows that much dedication some sort of recognition should be given. SO let the argument begin LOL or not

So... being given 600 badges = no recognition.
but being given 601 badges = recognition?
Always remember, we were Heroes.
Would badges for getting badges count in the badge count for the badges you got?
If the barber only shaves men who don't shave themselves, does he make a noise when Achilles catches the tortoise?
My scrapper doesn't need an AoE. She IS an AoE.
I am not even sure exactly what the total number of obtainable badges is these day but it is way past 600 and yet the last badge avaiable to reward you for earning badges is Trailblazer (for 200). That means that the last time you get recongnition for taking the time to obtain badges is with more than 2/3 still out there calling to those serious badge hounds.
I was thinking possibly another for getting 400 and the last one for obtaining 600 would be another way of say congratulation for all the time, effort, and INFLUENCE spent. I know people that have spent million and millions crafting to get those badges and have access to the field workstation and others that have devoted hours, DAYS, doing nothing but flashback arcs to obtain the badges there. That's a lot of effort and time to have the last time you get any recognition occur at 200. Heck I play numerous Ill/EMP controllers and can go invisible and get over 100 badges just going from zone to zone collecting Exploration and History badges. Doesn't cost a penny in influence only a couple hours of time.
As for myself I am a semi-devoted badged I think the most I have on any character is around 350 and I have no desire to spend hundreds of millions purchasing salvage and recipes for the crafting badges or hours and hourts in flashback ... I have 50s that could live there but then those below the big FIVE OH don't get play time.
So I am NOT suggesting this because I personally am looking for another badge but I think if a player shows that much dedication some sort of recognition should be given. SO let the argument begin LOL or not
