MA Suggestion: Sepia Flashback Option

I'd really, really like it if we had an option to make the Flashback Fade-To-Sepia thing happen for our Architect missions.

Signed. I have a World War two arc in the pipes and I'm terribly scared of it looking too colourful.

Colour tinting and lighting effects in general would be very cool.
I had a lot of fun with them in Freedom Force and found you could transform some maps a lot that way.

I like the original idea, as well as DrMike's extension. Dark Astoria fog would be cool to have available for outdoor maps, and that debuff-mist (the one in a Croatoa mission) would be great to be able to place in indoor missions.

How about the possibility to have sepia and/or black&white (like old tv shows or movies) coloration for entire missions? Why reserve the effect to a "fade-to"? I mean, if you want to put a 1940's gumshoe to work, what's he gonna do with all them colors forced on him now?

But I will caution that I am sure someone is going to stumble upon this thread and give all of the negative, technical reasons as to why they think the devs would not be able to do this.

But it would be cool.

Good suggestion

I think it'd be a simple matter of a mostly transparent brown overlay on the screen, could actually just be a part of the HUD if done in that manner, which would be possible and as a non-programmer, I'd say easy. You'd want the inherent loss of detail since the whole point of sepia is to make it resemble old photographs, but I think that the enemy displays might be affected, I'm not sure.

It'd make all outside maps look like Croatoa to some extent though, which might be awkward.

Yep, I was mentioning this the other day.

I have an arc that is partially in 1943 and totally would be better in black and white or sepia tone.

I suggested this to pohsyb when Flashback 1st arrived. He said it was a good idea but was way down at the bottom of the list. So, we may someday see it.
