  1. When it happens to me, I hit CTRL-ALT. That usually fixes it for me.
  2. Not planning on leaving, although I'm likely to use the VIP server to "retire" some characters. Never enough slots....
  3. That was my first thought too...but you know....

Technically, the movies are on a different time track now; Kirk died in Generations, but that was in the original time track. Now that there's been so much changed, you could make a case for Jim Kirk living to a ripe old age in this new time track.

On the other hand, it's probably for the best to put aside time travel kind of stuff for a while. Trek tends to lean a little too hard on it, sometimes.
  4. Looks like it's on his shield, which makes a certain amount of sense for the period.

    Very catchy bit of art!

    DING! Seven!

    Here's to seven more!
  6. I can do you one better. Apparently, the word "Spider" is copyrighted. Yeah, don't think so. If that's the case, CoH better remove all of theirs from the game....

you need Threads for the Biomorphic Goo, But somehow i dont think threads will start dropping like shards
There's actually two recipes for Alpha boosts now; you can either make the boost with the shard recipe, or now you can use a recipe that utilizes threads. Don't have the details in front of me right now, but I'm pretty sure that the shard recipe doesn't require components from the Trials, nor does the thread recipe require any of the components shards build (unless you count building threads out of 'em).
  8. I always felt this early bit Redside was a winner.

    Doctor Geist: Aaaaaah!

Wolf Spider: Get back to work or we'll cut off more than your funding!

Edit -> We'd also need a new pistols mastery for Scrappers. Just so that she can pull out a gun, shoot 3 guys dead with one shot each, and then proudly state that no force in the 'verse that can stop her.
Could go with the Revolver temp power for that.

  10. Name: Hyperion Force

    Currently Recruiting: Recruiting

RP Level: Moderate to heavy RP (IC chat unless specified by the usual conventions). Scheduled weekly RP events. Storytelling and RP by post is encouraged.

PvP Level: Individual basis; we understand some people enjoy PvP, and some people do not.

Theme/Concept: Hyperion Force is a group of heroes who have banded together in the tradition of the Freedom Phalanx and the Vindicators; the group has a number of continuing RP storylines in progress.

Activity: Currently about 20 players, active at various times during the US continental time zones (primarily Eastern), during the evening hours. Primary activity is on RP storyline nights: Sundays beginning at 8PM Eastern/5PM Pacific.

Requirements for Membership: No minimum/maximum level; application on the guild web site; please let us know if you are inactive for a period of longer than two weeks. Keep in mind the RP nature of the group!

Leadership: The Executive Officer is Nivera. Other officers are Mercurial Talon, Cyber Wrath 2.0, and Stellar Protector.

    In-Game Contact(s): Nivera, Cyber Wrath 2.0

Out-of-Game Contact(s): Drop us a line on the SG forums (see below).

URL: http://hyperionforce.guildportal.com; see also our Virtueverse entry at http://www.virtueverse.com/index.php/Hyperion_Force

Coalition(s): No coalitions at this time.

Other Details: Base is fully developed with teleporters available to all locations in Paragon City (including a Pillar of Ice and Flame for Flashback missioning). The SG's heroes are very much in the vein of the Avengers or the X-Men, so if you could not see your character among such heroes, you may decide we are not the right fit for you.

    Apex SF sucks!

Because you volunteered by signing up to help Apex?
  12. I'm usually horrible on this kind of thing, but a friend pointed out a suggestion that was spot on as far as I was concerned for Stellar Protector.

The actor that would do the character justice would be Aaron Eckhart.

  13. I'm betting on the latter, although maybe not with ill intent. Jack is a pretty generic kind of name, and I can see someone trying to make a "Jack in the Box character" using that name and not checking to see if the Jack3/4/5.jpgs were already in use. The fact that the date on those files is from October tells me that this was done before the switchover to the new server; unless Ransim has the images in some kind of archive somewhere (which is unlikely), the original images are gone.

    That's the bad news.

The good news is, the files you mentioned (and includes a Jack3.jpg, too) are not presently in use by any other pages other than yours, so I see no problems with you re-uploading on top of those images. Because of the server switchover, everyone with an account on the old one needed to make a new account-so you don't have to worry about password issues; just make a new "Jack Wolfe" account (this is why I am using User:Coreth now instead of my original User:Ebon Storm). Let us know if you run into any problems getting up and running!
  14. Is it possible these images were not in use by any pages here?

I did a quick check to see if I could identify them by looking over the pages tagged as having been edited by you. Since there have been no edits since everything was moved to the old server, it's possible that I haven't identified all your pages, but I've seen only four: Jack Wolfe, White Bishop, Ragnrok, and Wolfetec. On those pages, the only page that is missing a picture is White Bishop; a search on the delete log doesn't show that image, leading me to suspect it may have been over 150k in size; those pictures were not migrated to the new server, as mentioned in the top post here.

If you have other pages, let me know; I can see about restoring the pictures on those pages.
  15. Sure-go ahead and show 'em off here. This thread replaced the old one because of the server change. Everything you'd post on the old thread...go ahead and post here! We don't bite.

At least, I'm pretty sure we don't.

Just to cover the obvious bases: was this the first morality mission you ran with that character? The first time you complete a morality mission for a character, he gets 50 merits; it's the second and succeeding morality missions that award the Hero merits.
  17. As I don't have the pack, never happened to me.

However, a member of my SG had it happen with some hilarious results. See, he had a temp power that wasn't grayed out when he got transformed. Thus leading to:

    A monkey with a gun!

  18. I'll toss my hat in; it'd be nice to see an interpretation of my "Old Ranger" character.

  19. The official announcement is here; go in and have at it!
  20. The short answer is that Brutes can't get into Atlas prior to level 20. A Praetorian Brute can't leave Praetoria until then, and the tips for alignment missions responsible for shifting slowly from villain to hero don't start becoming available until then. So at this point, nobody will be leveling while in Atlas as a Brute...although Talos Island is a good starting point for the newly-heroic level 20 Brutes....

Edit: Of course, all scenarios tend to require the Going Rogue expansion. One could probably assume you've got it, but I've been wrong before.
  21. I'm pretty sure you can go with using the hard copy you have for GR. The bonuses you got from GvE should be tied to your account, so you should still have them whether you reinstall from GvE disk, GR disk, or from downloading the client from the CoH web site.

Edit: Just be sure you update your account with the GR product key; don't want to miss out on the Complete goodies.
  22. You can also find them under the quick-menu next to your chatbar as "Idle->Stances".

Now that this is the first time that the MM will be going through typical Hero missions, task forces, etc with Going Rogue, what are the problems that have already arisen and been addressed? Any at all?

Also, thematically, how does a heroic Mastermind work?

Demons? No way. Well, maybe. Some sort of Dr. Strange-type summoner.
    Robots? Maybe.
Thugs? No way. Unless you're organizing a work-program for youths seeking redemption.
Mercernaries? Sure. Agent of SHIELD and such.
Ninjas? Hmmm. I guess not. Daredevil isn't handling it too well as the leader of the HAND right now.

    Thoughts?

Thematically, it works if you view the MM more as a leader of men (or whatever) than as a master commanding his minions.

You've already pointed out the Mercs as easily viable, who work just fine as operating under a military commander. Thugs can easily be seen as the street-gang gone legit; working with a leader (hero) who wants to clean up the streets. It does two things: it gets people doing positive things with their lives, and it cuts into the pool of thugs tapped into by the Skulls, Hellions, etc. A ninja leader may be using his ninja as his own squad of "Batmen". Robots are easy to figure: they're nothing more than another weapon a hero might use, like a sword or dual pistols. Demons are the only one that takes a bit more work, since demons are usually (but not always!) portrayed as Evil; but one can imagine that a hero might see using them prevents evil sorcerers (or other origins, for that matter) from using them in their schemes. Could be that his will is stronger than those of the demons; or perhaps they're simply shapes he's created for a mystic force under his control. I can think of a few other ways to spin it.

The big key here for most of these is the nature of the hero-the AT lends itself to the idea of a charismatic man or woman as a leader who will have people who *want* to follow him/her. This is something that can apply to any spoke in the morality wheel, as the "pets" could be loyal to a leader whether he descends into the depths of villainy or chooses to lead them against the horde of evil that seems to infest Paragon City.

Afraid I can't speak for the gameplay questions, but I would imagine that this wouldn't be a major issue; after all, they've already worked with heroes in the RWZ and in Cimerora. And mechanics-wise, the redside missions aren't really all that different from the blueside ones.

    Just my random thoughts.

Edit: Completely missed zombies, but not too hard to work them around too; I can see a concept of the zombies being chained to unlife for failing in some great task, and they've chosen to follow the hero in hopes of redeeming themselves-a perfect theme for Going Rogue.
