In mid fight with av and you hit secondary mutation and turn into a monkey!

Yes, Puppeh! I have turned into a Rikti monkey several times in mid battle when I click on my second mutation button. I have since made sure that I click it BEFORE I head into battle. I do believe that it is a joke on us from the devs. tehe

No, but it did in the middle of a horde of Ghouls once...

I stopped hitting that power during any fight at all after that.

This happened to me in the final mission of the Lord Recluse Strike Force.

I hit Secondary Mutation, turn into a Monkey and we have not engaged yet. So I think to myself "If I just kill myself I can Hosp it and drop the monkey."

So I charge into the huge group of AV's and go splat... and the Twp Puggie's on the team FOLLOW ME. Not even at the same time. I charge in and die. Then the First Puggie charges in on his own and dies. After seeing myself die as a monkey and the first Puggie bite it... the second Puggie's decides this seems like a great idea and charges the Freedom Phalanx on his own.

They must have thought we were taking turns.

((It has happened to me and, to be honest, while some people may think it's funny, I don't appreciate BUYING an item that I'm afraid to use. The "devolving" thing means that if I'm on a team, I risk delaying progress if I use it at the beginning, or risk a team wipe if I use it during a battle. And if I'm rp'ing, then the "devolving" ruins immersion, and immersion has *always* been CoH's greatest strength.

If the devs want to play a joke on us, they should wait until April 1st. Otherwise, if I buy a costume pack and one of the features causes me to have not-fun as opposed to fun, it makes me less likely to buy another costume pack. Will all of them have little unpleasant jokes like this?

Every time it happens, I petition the devs and let them know how I do NOT appreciate their joke at my $10 expense. Seriously, as cool as the costume pieces are, I wouldn't have bought the Mutant Pack if I had known they were going to do this. I definitely will not be buying the Origins pack on account of it.))

It happened to a Team Mate on a PuG before, just as my Plant/Emp was firing Adrenal Boost on him.

Me : "Wait, did I just buff the monkey?"
Me : "Erm, and no, that's not a euphemism"
Monkey : "It is now"

I've been giving some thought to buying this booster pack. How often does the transformation "backfire"?

I've seen it happen at the Hami raids a few times. On the safe rock at least.

Happened to me once during a Rikti invasion in AP. I couldn't stop laughing.

Yeah, happend to me several times, not in the middle of fight though. Intresting enough it happened right before we were about to charge 20 or 30 mobs in a TF. Team charged anyway, I ran away. Team died, I got my form back, held agrro till they got back from the hopsital.

It happens quite a lot in RWZ. I was on a team and got it 4 times in 2 hours.

Its only happened to me twice in three months and I use the power every time its up.

When it does happen its pretty much always hilarious and its over the moment you die and pop a wakie. Unlike getting "The Fool" which just sucks.

As I don't have the pack, never happened to me.

However, a member of my SG had it happen with some hilarious results. See, he had a temp power that wasn't grayed out when he got transformed. Thus leading to:

HAHAHAAAAAA...a monkey with a gun! Now that would be funny to see! A monkey with a gun charging into battle! HAHAHAAA

I was tanking Yellow Mito #4 and my Secondary Mutation recycled. I waited until the instant the mito went down and I hit it and monkeed, so it looked to everyone that a Rikti monkey had tanked a mito. So, you could see the usual ring of tanks around the goo, with one little jumping monkey. It was something you don't see every hami raid.

Only once. I had just gotten out of the hospital as Mellissandria and decided to be better prepared.

So, hit secondary mutation as I rushed the Tsoo...and became monkey sushi...which resulted in my very swift return to said hospital.

this reminds me of a favourite power in a nameless game that occasionally turned the target into a teddy bear. especially devastating when given to an enemy and used on you, or used in pvp with hilarious (if very rare) results.

i'll have to look into picking up the booster pack.

Yes, it has happened to me more than once. Turning into a monkey while fighting, I mean. And I laugh. Every. Single. Time. It's also happened when I'm about to go into a fight or a mission, and I'm rp'ing. Usually, I just run around screaming until it wears off. While laughing hysterically at my computer screen.

Had it happen a few times versus an AV and just last night, I hit it right before charging into a Zombie raid...

I wouldn't think anything of it, but I swear it happens more often now, than it used to.

Took me over a month to get hit with it before. Now..."whoa wait! I just turned into a monkey less than 20 hours ago!"

Each time however, is just lots of fun when it happens

Except that one AV soloing time :/
