Not true. In one of the vanguard arc you fight some legit longbow guys.

  4. IMO what we need is a MA or street fighting secondary for blasters, a trick shooting debuff pistol set for defenders and corrupters and an all around gadget based set for all the ranged AT's.

Because its not about not being able to justify a powerset, its not having the desire to do so again and again and again. I want to make a character that the game simply does not yet support. There is nothing wrong with that. After all, thats how we got staff fighting, street fighting, Dual Pistols, electric control, etc. We just have to let the devs know that there is alot of desire for a more natural style powerset, and morever, natural style powersets for both primary and secondary.

Who cares if a normal human cant compete with a demigod? It never seemed to matter if the AT was a melee AT, why should it matter if I want a ranged character?
  5. They should have made it a 30-40 zone imo.
  6. can a mod move this to general please? posted in the wrong forum
  7. I tried to summon both my shield oscilater and clockwork pet, and one cancels out the other now? Why change that? We have always been able to summon both before.

IMO the best way to do a WH40K game would be to set it up as a squad based game where you have a certain number of points to spend how you like. As you level up you get more points. So if you start with say 500 points, you could spend it all on your squad leader and have a "squad" of one or you could purchase other squad members and have it play more like a Mastermind in Coh. The differnt races would have differnt point costs. So a Space Marine squad would have to spend alot more points to have the same number of pets as a Imperial guard, but his guys would be stronger.

IMO, in pretty much every movie where Will is the center of attention as the star, the movie descends into absurd drek within five minutes. On the other hand, when he's in an ensemble cast, where he isn't the focus of the story, he can be really good.
Thats true for most comedians though. Jack black was great in Tropic thunder, but terrible in most of the movies that he carries the lead in. Adam Sandler is better in movies where there are other strong actors to reign in his extemes.

As for typecast breaking movies...Adam Sandler in Punch Drunk Love

Yes its annoying. If Im in a zone other than atlas having to travel to atlas to respec is a fairly unneccesary pain.

As for the freespec thing... they could make it a /freespec? Or just have the freespec go first, which I think it does anyway.
  12. Its annoying to have to go to the respec contacts when there exists a simple slash command.

  14. It would be really cool if we could choose NPC's to have the person play as. Have the ae assign temp powers based on the NPC and lock out all the players normal powers. Even better would be allowing us to be GM's and have destructable buildings a la mayhem missions.

    Dark Astoria

They should have a zone event where you have to rescue NPCs from various parts of the zone. The farther back they are the bigger the reward. The NPC's should be given a big aoe taunt aura as well.

For example (and this is totally made up): "In FREEMonline the PvP system is the main part of the game, and the method by which players gain better equipment and such. It is a 'random loot' system, in which when you are killed your killers (or teammates) may loot a single piece of your equipment, at random, from your defeated body. This sort of system just flat-out would not work in City of Heroes, it would change things far too much."
thats pretty solidly compare and contrast

  18. maybe just switching it off causes some psychic backlash that could fry her brain?
  19. Why not just add a new option under the control panel that turns off tells FROM F2p people? So if you are really that threatened by RMTers you just flip it and no more F2P tells...

First, I dont see why we shouldnt be able to make most ranged powers use a staff or wand. Second, IMO, if a player is given the option to do something, then that option DOES NOT need to be equal to the default. We should be able to choose an *technically* inferior animation if we like it. So in other words, I would be okay with adding alternate animations that are longer than the default, because we have the choice not to use them. As long as the difference is not drastic, then I think there will be a significant portion of the player base that will deal with the redraw or slightly longer animations.

Most people sure as heck wouldn't be okay with getting a delay on their attacks because somebody *else* wanted a weapon option. I know I wouldn't. This is why the devs seem reluctant to make mechanics changes after the fact, unless it's almost universally requested.
    .
You Misunderstand my idea. You wouldnt add a delay onto ALL powers in every set. You would add a delay in the alternate animations that you have the option to choose. So in theory the time for a power to be cast would be identical, because those who choose the standard animations would have a redraw and those who use a model(staff, gun etc) to cast would have a slight delay in their animation time to match the redraw time.

Also, the point in not compensating for the alternate animations, is that it is optional. If people are unhappy with the slight loss in performance, they can choose to use the default. Because it is completely voluntary, it doesnt have to be completely equal, and as long as they arent vastly differnt in performance, a large part of the player population will still use them.

No you wouldn't. The redraw would just be the price the player pays for having a differnt animation. There would be PLENTY of people who would use the differnt animations with redraw without adding anything else to the mix.

As for removing the acc... They could maybe add an additional delay on to simulate the redraw so they could leave in the acc?
  24. It woud be really nice if we could use the models/animations from energy rifle to cast our other powersets abilities... For example, my time/Energy rifle character is a supergenius who invented a sciency rifle, so it would be nice if I could "shoot" some of hte time powers with the rifle, even if it just used the "shoot" animation and the time FX.

Honestly, it would be REALLY nice if all blast/buff/debuff powers could be cast with a rifle or a wand, even if the animations are just generic replicas of what we have now adjusted to match the times required.
