  1. A free month of play for each year played.
A free character slot for each year played.
Base ownership, no more rent. Finally paid that sucker off!
A free costume code for each year played.
A free booster pack of choice.
A vets booster pack containing PC versions of much asked for NPC costume parts.

That last one wasn't a real suggestion, justed wanted to see how many people it would cheese off.
  2. A fire blast/mental manip blaster sounds workable to me.

Yeah, more unlockable stuff. I hope this time they at least make them unlock globally instead of making you have to run through the same content with each character you want to use some of the unlockable pieces on.
  5. The Mad Butcher. He's a DB/WP brute I made as an homage to those seeming unstoppable maniacs from the horror movies, like Michael Meyers and Jason. But he isn't just a mindless killing machine, he's a very successful businessman who owns and operates one of the most popular chains of meat markets in the Isles. 'The Butcher's Bill Fine Meats. To get it any fresher you'd have to kill it yourself!'

  7. I was paired up with Jophiel and she presented the character Polish Princess for a makeover. Here is the original info I was sent. It took me a while but I finally decided to go the old 'What If?' route. In looking over her bio I asked myself, 'What if the accident that had created her had not been an accident?'. So I came up with this new bio:

Anja Holownia's mother, Sophia, was a graduate student in physics at Krakow's Jagiellonian University in 1976 when the University scientists received a package containing Nazi experimentation equipment abandoned after the war. One of the scientists had developed feelings for Sophia and in an attempt to woo her, he confided in her that he and some others were part of a 5th Column cell and that the equipment had been sent for use in human experimentation. He had hoped she would accept his invitation to join thier research, but when she refused and threatened to alert the authorities he panicked and abducted her. She became a part of the research as a test subject.

It was during a subsequent examination that her pregnancy was discovered. The scientists grew excited over the following months, for while Sophia slowly succumbed and withered to the effects of the radiation exposure from the machine, the developing child growing within her remained strong and vital, apparently unaffected by the radiation.

When Anja was born Sophia was no longer needed and was eliminated. The scientist that had been so infatuated with Sophia took the infant into his home and raised her to be loyal to the 5th Column. As was hoped, she developed powers brought on by mutations from her exposure to the radiation used against her mother during those early experiments. Now fully grown, adhering to strict discipline, and firmly believing in the 5th Column's dogma, she has become a member of that organization's elite meta soldiers. As her operative identification she has chosen the name 'The 5th Queen'.

    Clobbertime's story is...

So the original Clobbertime was gifted with some ancient magical power which has made him into a super fighter but he retains a violent edge. I decided to play these angles up in my revamp. I wanted to refrain from making something obvious for "Clobbertime" such as a hulking brute but instead made his power's origins a bit more obvious:

My thought here was to make him a bit more unworldly without going overboard. He has the more subdued glowing eyes, the vampire ears (which are less obvious than the elf/imp ears) and I tried to dress him in somewhat similar colors but in a new way. His chest contains the Baroque pattern which I thought hinted at mystical origins without being an obvious "rune" or "glyph" pattern. His various belts remind me of the Eidolon. The chains on his hands help give his punches more... punch without making him all bulked up. I tried to give his outfit a somewhat menacing quality to depict his violent nature without making him look like a villain since he's not evil... just slightly unhinged. I kept the blue and black but shifted the goldish color more towards green to reflect perhaps a tie to some fae or earthy type spirits who may have given his ancestors their gift.

    Hope you like the idea!
Looks nice. My first thought was ClobberSpock, from an alternate universe where everyone has superpowers.

Sorry it's taking me so long, but was having a tough time on deciding what to do with Polish Princess, but have an idea kicking around now. I'll have it done before the weekend is over.
  9. The ramps and platforms capable of having items placed on them that are seen in many of the tech maps.

A single teleporter that can have all the beacons attached to it. It's silly that such a sophisticated piece of tech is only capable of having two destinations and a lot of base real estate is wasted on having to have either very large or multiple porter rooms.

Wall and ceiling items that look like hanger doors.

Not a new item, but would be nice if the base defense items played thier animations continually. The slow field does so the others should also.
  10. I'm willing to give it another go.

My only (personal) nit on his attempt is I'm not huge on the upper legs just being tights... I would probably try for something with a bit of padded armor looking texture to it.
I tried it out with a mesh pattern but it didn't look enough like chainmail to suit me, so I went with the smooth metallic look. If we had a pattern like the underlayer of the armored pads without the pads that would have been perfect. Maybe I should drop by the costume request thread. The Jester texture might look good for the legs.
  12. Yes, it's the old style military helmet. I wish I could put a mesh pattern on it to represent the strainer's holes, but got to work with what they give us.
  13. You said he was a kid with a colander on his head so I went with the idea that his access to costume materials would be pretty much limited to what he could scrounge up. A tee shirt, gym shorts, cape made from a cut up bedsheet, that sort of thing. So here is my take.
  14. You have to be level 20 before any store in Paragon will sell you a towel, but you can buy all the cigars you want.
  15. Down with hypnotoad up with brain slugs!
  16. The villains would own the companies the heroes are shilling for.

    'Who is Jack?'

I just tell them I don't know Jack.
  18. I'd settle for a complete list of the powerset proliferation. They mentioned at least one per AT but only named three in the announcement.

I am going to be leading a discussion group for my Gaming Meetup on the subject of Gender Stereotypes in Gaming. I would really like to use City of Heroes as a point of interest. What I am looking for is an approximate number of Female Characters vs Male Characters. The actual gender of the player (male vs female) is not necessary but if that is included that would be great too. I don't want to invade any privacy issues but I think that it would make for a great discussion point as I do (and I know a few of the Meetup as well) play CoH.
Any help that someone could give me would really be apprecaited.
Ask the devs. With thier datamining they know how many of each AT and which powersets are used how often, so I imagine they could tell you exactly how many characters of each model type exists in the game.
